  1. Mark has always stated that he would put his racing in Britain above the GP's, he has been World Champion and no matter what Trick might say, you can never gain that same feeling again of seeing your childhood dream come true and lifting the World Championship for the first time. I would be rather surprised is Mark is given a permenant wild card again for next season but then again it saves me a lot of money as I will only go to the British GP in 2005 and not bother with others that I have attended in the past few years just to watch Mark race. To those of you that comment on how he always finds something to blame, no doubt you would still slate him if he said that he rode like a complete pratt! Remember it was Steve Brandon that brought up the neck problem first, prior to that Mark said that he just didn't cut it! On the fact of despairing with the GP's - I am hoping that with next seasons change in number of riders etc that they will finally stop this stupid thing of 2 Wildcards just for that meeting! When the actual GP riders are trying to score as many points as they can to either win the Grand Prix Series or just qualify for next year it really bugs the hell out of me that some "fly be night" can come along and throw a spanner in the works! I know they are only trying to show they are good enough to beat some of these guys and I congratulate them for that - but it still really rattles me!
  2. Looks like Antonio can add another title/trophy to his list!
  3. I must admit I often wonder what some of the old Poole guys are up to these days! I know Pete Smith is still running Verwood Motors and Middlo is running the family business in Sturminster Marshall, aswell as being Poole and Team GB Team Manager etc. I saw Kevin Smith at Poole last year, he came down for Boycey's Testimonial but not too sure what he is doing now, get to see Steve Schofield occasionally at Poole (much to his fear! bless him, still remembers me mugging him every week to buy the drinks in the club). Eric Broadbelt come down to Poole a few times during the season but not too sure what he is doing at home nowadays! It would be great to have a real Poole Speedway Reunion, not just the ones from the 50's and 60's that we tend to have at Poole (not that I have anything against Ken Middleditch, Brian Crutcher, Ove Fundin etc) but it would be great to see all the guys from the 70's, 80's and 90's again too. What did happen to David Biles, Ali Stevens, Mike Curuso, Scott Autrey (tho I do kept reasonably up to date on him from his old mate over here), Dickie May, Ron Preston etc.....? Oh well that has stated me reminicing for the afternoon instead of getting on with work!
  4. Doesn't always work that way Shaz! Fair enough, there are plenty of Ipswich supporters that will be pleased that one of their riders has won a GP Round (though I am sure that many of them would have preferred it to be Scott!) However, just because a rider rides for your team, doesn't mean you have to support him and cheer his return after winning a round! (Just from my own personal view there!)
  5. Thought you might remember, especially as you have an elephant on your race jacket!
  6. She's probably trying to drum up support for him he lost a lot of respect when he did what he did to Mark. What happened then, did i miss something, or is this something that happened a while ago British Final 2 years ago (or was it 3 now, time seems to fly be these days)! anyway, it was the one the same year as the Aussie GP. Lee took Mark off and that finished Mark's GP aspirations for the year, didn't do his back a lot of good either! Sorry to say that Mark Loram fans are like elephants (No, not in size!) we never forget things and very rarely forgive them either..........
  7. But! In 2001 when Hans first came to Poole we had Gary Havelock as Captain of the Pirates! Mind you, if they had got involved the year before that - Poole had Gary Havelock, Scott Nicholls, Mark Loram and Alun Rossiter, we also had Justin Elkins but.....!
  8. That is one way to look at it! What is even more gut-wrenching is that the post apparently came from someone within Poole Tourism! says a lot about Poole really, the fact that it states they have stood by him over the past few weeks with everything that happened at POOLE, that affected TEAM GB and the same manager for both clubs is from the POOLE area - yet they stand behind a Dane............... Personally, I cannot see that Hans showing off Poole Tourism on his kevlars will do much for bringing people to Poole for their holidays!
  9. Damn it! That is what my husband says too! he says that he cannot afford to keep me !
  10. Phew! thanks for that one! Always scared me !
  11. So now you just saw him kicking a fellow rider doing 60mph. What is your new view ?????? Peter Still the same! What he did was wrong (as many have said) but still not dirty in my book! note to self: Get round to writing that book!
  12. Hmmmmm! Interesting view there Sue! I guess where we were sat behind the glass just as they come off the 2nd bend we did get a better view of it and this was helped later when at home watching it on TV, replayed several times so Shaz and I could see him actually shutting off whilst pinning Scott to the line, looking across and basically looking straight into PK's eyes (that is something that freaks me out anyway, the fact PK takes his glasses off to race!!! argh....) but then says in the interview that he didn't see him! All that said, I have nothing against Hans as a person, I get on well with him, but I do not like Hans the rider.........! Still as I stated on another thread - well done to him for tonight and I am pleased that his hand injuries are OK now!
  13. True, but many other incidents he's been involved in do! Kevin - I am no fan of Jason Crump but I have never viewed him as a dirty rider!
  14. No! I mean at my being paired with Jason Crump! Star Lady knows I am no fan of his from the time she put me in her spare room with an 8x10 photo of him by the bed, I was ill all night!
  15. Can people please stop pairing me up with Jason! I am sure that Star Lady is having a damn good laugh at this!!!!
  16. Richtea78 - I was about to say "She?" - she is the cat's mother! But then realised with my posting name etc, I guess I must be just that!
  17. Pathetic??????? Try reading my post again when you get a sense of humour! I have nothing to be ashamed of, well apart from trying to push riders out of Mark Lorams way on the TV, that was pretty pathetic but then I was watching it at home alone (the safest way for me to view speedway!)
  18. last time i looked Crumpy was still on top......................... That is sooooooooo True! And One Kick doesn't make him a dirty rider! Just a feeble kicker, just as well he didn't take up football!
  19. Yes, and how nice of him to win it in Sweden! Still, he came through and beat the rest on the night I guess! Well Done Hans
  20. Well that is very interesting to read! especially after all the who-ha last year and how this year it would be different with Ole taking over the laying of the track etc! If things go wrong tomorrow I feel that heads will roll......!
  21. Of-course I will! It may be my 5th wedding anniversary tomorrow but I shall be sat in front of the TV cheering on my favorites (I have arranged for my hubby to play a late round of golf so that is him happy too!)
  22. I've heard some daft comments but that beats most. You'll be telling us he doesn't look Swedish next!!!.... Hey! Remember you are on very thin ice with me at the moment boy!
  23. I did not say that there was anything wrong (as such) with Antonio showering and changing, it is just that he stood out from the rest of his team!
  24. How wrong you are there Lanzilla! By the way, it is Boycey...! I swear people spell it wrong just to get my goat up!! I can see the potential within Antonio, but unlike others I can also see the down side to him, not only in his riding but also his attitude off track! I am a people watcher, I love to sit and just watch what people are up to and how they act etc, the party after the SWC was a prime time to watch this and see how people reacted, most of which I shall not go into here but it amazed me how all the Swedish Team partied the night away in their kevlars, yet Antonio had to shower and change into his designer gear before he could mingle.....!
