  1. Could also include Nicki Pedersen too, as he and his family live in Stevenage.... As we all know though, the BSPA long ago lost their appetite for test matches......
  2. Plenty of pictures of the track on the Rebels facebook page, including this one, if you click the link. : https://www.facebook.com/SomersetRebelsSpeedway/photos/pb.206553905539.-2207520000.1428665271./10150949832475540/?type=3&theater
  3. Yes, Arnie, you are correct - Since been confirmed to me by a mate in Mlada Boleslav, that the ExtraLiga will run next year, using the four team format. As mentioned before, the participating teams are Mseno, Pardubice, Prague, and Slany. Spiegal / James - The 2015 Czech Fixtures havent been released yet, except for the Golden Helmet of course, but when they have been, they will be available here : http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/kalendar.php
  4. There will actually be NO Czech ExtraLiga in 2015, as only Prague and Pardubice wanted to take part Instead, there will be a series of individual meetings, with riders' points also earning a classification for their club, similiar to the system used in the Croatian / Slovenian Championships : http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/view.php?cisloclanku=2014121102 Pardubice - December 11 to participate in the Premier League in 2015 in the style of member teams have expressed only Pardubice and Prague. Had no choice but to resort to the system from the year 2010, when the oval will fight individuals, with the best of them will take points for the team classification. Petr Moravec, President VV SPD, the magazine speedwayA-Z told him that although sorry evacuation championship in the cold, but this is compensated by ten major league races. "It is a virtue, it's all I can say to that, "says Petr Moravec first league appearance for 2015. However, two teams of four against each other would hardly be able to wrestle, individual style while still supported Salty, Mšeno and Březolupy. "It will be a regular program," says Petr Moravec address Premier League 2015. "Called five organizers and the ten races. For normal championship, I've had three. I am sorry that championship goes sideways, but this is the certainty that riders will race. " Calendar Monday: after the deadline FIM and FIM Europe delivers the latest documents in the Czech calendar Pardubice Saturday meeting of representatives of the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia and Hungary on the form of the Adriatic competitions. timetable Czech speedway eventually emerge from Monday's meeting VV SPD. Presumably its smooth running, because the clubs reported their ideas in advance.
  5. Its a four team format in 2015 : http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/view.php?cisloclanku=2014112002 extraliga: match four teams in one race with the participation of Prague, Pardubice, Slany and Mšeno; team will consist of four riders and one alternate, only one of which may be a foreign rider and one must be licensed ACR junior in the starting formation team with three mandatory runs; rules identical to the World Cup in addition to dealing with alternate

  8. Maybe he is just being kind over here, as everybody says "Frank" Over in Czecho, at the Golden Helmet and other meetings I have watched there over the years, its always been pronounced "France".....
  9. The same deal as Premier Sports - They take what is known as a "clean feed" i.e. just the pictures without commentary (Which would obviously be in Swedish anyway), and then overlay their own commentary in a UK based studio
  10. Just did a search for it (http://tv.eurosport.co.uk/search.shtml?query=speedway) and the meeting is being shown at 22.40 tomorrow, Wednesday 28th May !
  11. Whatever people think of the magazine, I, for one, am thankful its still going, and I still buy it every week. With the news today that the sole British Ice Hockey magazine, Powerplay, has ceased publication with immediate effect, I hope there is s still a place for the Star in an age where the march towards consumption of magazines, music, etc is increasingly relentless
  12. This year, its 4 meetings in 4 days : Friday 3rd October 2014 - Golden Ribbon (Under 21 Event) in Pardubice Saturday 4th October 2014 - World Under 21 Final in Pardubice Sunday 5th October 2014 - 66th Czech Golden Helmet in Pardubice Monday 6th October 2014 - Czech Individual Championship Final in Prague
  13. Would appear that the visa requirements / rules are being tightened up all round : http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/25849031 Hull KR: Papua New Guinea duo Enoch Maki & Francis Paniu exit Hull Kingston Rovers have released Papua New Guinea duo Enoch Maki and Francis Paniu from their contracts. Prop-forward Maki and centre Paniu were part of the Kumuls squad at the recent Rugby League World Cup in England. And following the tournament, the 24-year-olds both agreed one-year deals at Craven Park, subject to successful visa and work permit applications. But these were not obtained, and the pair are now expected to return home to join Kokopo-based side PNG Hunters.
  14. Simple, Haza - Pardubice do not want the SGP I have attended every Czech Golden Helmet since 1997, and have had conversations with Petr Moravec over the years on that very subject - Pardubice feel that they wont make money out of a GP, when they take into account the staging fees that they would have to pay BSI / IMG, the cost of staging an SGP, etc They much prefer staging the World Under 21 Final, Under 21 Team Cup etc on the Saturday, as a curtain raiser to the Golden Helmet It's crazy I know, and I would love to see a GP at Pardubice, but just cant see, at least for the forseeable future
  15. Regardingg Hotels for next year : Big Sleep just quoted me £130 a night Mercure Cardiff just quoted me £290 for two nights WITHOUT Breakfast... Very much doubt I will stay over at those prices
  16. The UK rights holder is GoSpeed International.... UK channels, at least one that I know of, have looked ito bringing Polish Speedway to our screens, but have been put off by the prohibitive fees asked.....
  17. Surprised that the Prague SGP Wildcard has been given to the winner of the Marketa Open. The line up was poor in my opinion, and I would have been surprised if Josef Franc had not won the meeting. http://www.speedway-prague.cz/index.php/archiv-aktualit/240-josef-franc-vyhral-marketa-open Konečné pořadí: 1. Josef Franc 13 (3,2,3,2,3) + 1. ve finále 2. Václav Milík 14 (3,3,2,3,3) + 2. ve finále 3. Andrej Kudrjašov 14 (3,3,3,3,2) + 3. ve finále 4. Roman Čejka 12 (2,2,3,3,2) + 4. ve finále 5. 18. +1 Will give the new magazine a go, for sure, but it will not be at the expense of my Speedway Star subscription Note for Phil Rising - If and When SS is available digitally, I hope its on the Zinio Platform, which, personally, I find the best digital platform, rather than Exact Editions, etc
  19. YES, Travel in Prague is very easy, as public transport is very good and cheap AVOID Taxi's like the plague (unless its "AAA") as they tend to mafia controlled, and will cost an arm and a leg. Food and drink is cheap, if you stay away from the tourist areas
  20. Very easy, I have done it for years - Czech Railway Timetable is here (In English too) : www.cd.cz (Remember to use Czech place names, i.e. Praha, not Prague) Prague to Pardubice is 104 KM eastwards, doesnt take long at all
  21. No, not at all Just buy tickets for all three meetings when you go to the Zlata Stuha
  22. just turn up at the track before the Zlata Stuha on the Friday. The Zlata Stuha attracts a quite small crowd. You could very well end up with a row of seats all to yourself, Vicar. most people just buy a ticket and sit wherever they feel like. Seats are just 100 Kc for this meeting, and standing is only 50 Kc
  23. I am hoping that the under 21 final on the Saturday gets put back to 19.00 or 19.30. After much tooing and froing between the speedway, racecourse and council, with one event possibly moving to a different date, it was finally decide a little while ago that the 122nd Velka Pardubicka horserace WILL be held the same day as the World Under 21 Final round in Pardubice, on Saturday October 13th. The horse racing will start at 11 AM, with the feature race, the Velka Pardubicka, starting around 16.00 - 16.30, hence I hope the World Under 21 Final round is pushed back from 17.00. I do know that if common sense prevails, with maybe the horse race being brought forward and / or the World Under 21 final being pushed back, the local bus company are looking to run buses the short distance from the horse racing to the speedway, to enable people to attend both events, if they so wish. Throw in local government elections that weekend as well, and Pardubice will be an extremely busy place that week(end) !
