Why was Matej Ferjan not in the meeting, Tomas ? At first I though it was because he races on a Hungarian licence, but then I saw tht Atila Stefani rode in the meeting, as well as some Croats....

Chris, I am staying at the "Extol Inn" in Holesovice (www.extolinn.cz) Yes, it will just be me travelling on my own, although of course I will know others out there, including yourself ..... I am flying out on Thursday 23rd September from Bristol Airport....

With Easyjet, the closer you book your intended flight to your actual departure the more expensive flights are... So, if you book now for the Prague GP in May, its gonna be expensive than if you had booked in january for example.... Plus also, Easyjet charge more if you want to fly at the end of the week or on a weekend, than in midweek... Just looked at Eayjet - Stansted - Prague on Wednesday 12th May at 18.00 (In Prague at 20.55) is £31.99 Prague - Stansted on Tuesday 18th May at 21.25 (In Stansted at 22.25) is £26.99 This totals £59 , but taxes of £11 each way makes the total price £80.98... Of course, the longer you stay in Prague the more expensive your accomodation cost are , but the "Extol Inn" (www.extolinn.cz) or via www.iyhf.cz seems a reasonable place, offering three grades of accomodation : 3* - All rooms have en-suite bathroom, Satellite TV , Phone & Mini Bar 2* Standard - All rooms have en-suite bathrooms 2* Economy - Youth Hostel type rooms Its swings and roundabouts really, if you can go on a trip from midweek-midweek, your flight will cost less, but you pay more for accomodation... If you do a "weekend whizz" out and back over 2 / 3 days or less, your flight is more expensive, but your accomodation costs are less, or non existent....

Wasn't the Champions Chase for around 32 riders? Yes I believe it was now you mention it. Is this not the meeting being resurrected in the PL this year, at Kings Lynn... I believe the format to be based on the Czech Golden Helmet.....

Easyjet have recently launched a new route - London Gatwick - Prague... A the moment , their prices are also around £80....

Thanks guys.... I know where the Hotel is, as I have been to every Golden Helmet since 1997, but never having stayed at the Sirius, I wondered what the rooms were like, the quality of the food, etc....

Today's Speedway Star says that a World Under 21 Cup will commence from the 2005 Season.... Semi Finals will be held in August 2005 in Denmark , and Poland. The final will be held at Pardubice in the Czech Republic, on Sunday September 25th, 2005, although I would not be surprised if the final took place 24 hours earlier, leaving the Sunday free for the traditional Sunday staging of the Golden Helmet....

To be honest , this competition is a bit "mickey mouse".... I saw the final last year in Pardubice , as it was staged the day before the Czech Golden Helmet (same thing this year too, but at Debrecen, as you know...) This tourney is usually only contested by teams from the "former eastern bloc" countries , and some German teams.... Lada Togliatti from Russia won last year, thanks largely due to their "hired hands for the day" , who were Jason Crump & Ryan Sullivan.....To be best of my knowledge , neither of those two have ridden in the Russian League for Togliatti....
