Yes, according to the Rye House Website. Didnt expect Branford to be available, as he is a Redcar asset, so, according to the previous rules at least , his current Championship club, Sheffield, should have priority when fixtures clash. No idea who Ellis Perks is an asset of. I thnk Bradley is an asset of Somerset, so Swindon would have priority over Peterborough. It's speedway though, so could all change tomorrow !

Yes, I believe you are correct. Phil Crump certainly rode in the Golden Helmet, an indicidual match race series in the Gulf Oil British League, when riding for the Eastville based "Bristol Bulldogs". When a series was tied 1 - 1 after a leg at each of the contesting rider's home track, a neutral venue was used to decide the outcome. http://www.speedwaychampions.com/br-match-race-champs.php The above website provides info about the Golden Helmet, Silver Helmet, Bronze Helmet and Silver Sash (The Silver Sash was last held in 1964)

Czech Golden Helmet 2017 Help And Advice
jeffster replied to james1234's topic in International World of Speedway
I wouldnt say that it wasnt practical, as train from Pardubice to Prague can take as little as 55 minutes. However, I do agree that Chrudim, Hradec Kralove, Kolin, Kutna Hora and Prelouc provide closer options. -
Czech Golden Helmet 2017 Help And Advice
jeffster replied to james1234's topic in International World of Speedway
2017 Czech Golden Helmet dates : http://www.zlataprilba.cz/ 29th September - 1st October 2017 The dates were actually released on Tuesday, I had them within thirty minutes of release, but 100% of hotels in Pardubice were booked on both booking.com and travelrepublic ! I have booked a room 20 miles away in Kutna Hora, where the Sedlec Ossuary AKA "Bone Church" is.... On the Pardubice Speedway page on Facebook, I posed the question of how people were clearly getting the dates early, and then a staff member from the Hotel Euro replied, saying to contact the hotel directly, as the hotel DID have rooms available...she has not replied to the follow up questions of a German guy and myself asking whether hotels are actually "block booking" rooms themselves on the two sites mentioned above, to sell them directly to customers (And thereby avoid paying fees to the two booking sites)... -
SPOT ON ! If Brexit has taught me one thing, its thats a lot of adults in this country cant think for themselves. They are literally programmed by the Sun, Mail, Express, etc and believe every word as gospel ! After the verdict in the Hillsbrough inquest earlier this year, I am surprised that people still buy the Sun. There is also an irony in Sun readers, as you say, they are largely brexit loving racist bigots, and the paper fosters and panders to those beliefs, and yet the sun is of course owned by a Australian born American billionairre !

Oh yes, a great piece of democracy that will set this country back decades ! In case you haven’t noticed we have a massive trade deficit and a whopping great national debt ! There's no sign of the government coming up with a plan to get Britain's virtually non-existent manufacturing industry actually making stuff to export and no one wants to invest in the U.K. because we look like a very bad risk. Oh and our very successful financial sector is about to lose its ability to trade easily across national borders. Brilliant. What's left? Tourism. And that puts us on about the same category as Greece but without the weather. Even David Davis has issued warnings re Brexit : http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/brexit-david-davis-agrees-that-businesses-face-cliff-edge-threat-if-no-eu-trade-deal-is-struck-by-a7371376.html Brexit: David Davis agrees that businesses face ‘cliff edge’ threat if no EU trade deal is struck by 2019 The Secretary of State of Exiting the European Union acknowledged the danger if companies are forced to ‘fall back on World Trade Organisation rules’ Brexit Secretary David Davis has admitted businesses face a damaging “cliff edge” if the Government misses its two-year deadline for striking a fresh EU trade deal. Quizzed in the Commons, Mr Davis agreed with a Labour MP who outlined the dangers if companies are forced to “fall back on WTO rules” in 2019. Earlier this month, business leaders – including the CBI and manufacturers’ body the EEF – wrote an open letter to ministers, making a plea for barrier-free trade with Europe to be preserved. It warned defaulting to trading by World Trade Organisation (WTO) rules would leave 90 per cent of UK goods trade with the EU subject to new tariffs. During Brexit questions, Labour backbencher Emma Reynolds pointed out that other EU members had yet to agree to trade talks alongside the two-year Article 50 exit negotiations. That would mean 20 per cent in extra costs for the UK’s food and drink industry and 10 per cent for car producers, the letter said. She said: “The truth is that business are concerned that we are going to have to fall back on WTO rules. What, therefore, is the Government and the Secretary of State going to do to avoid the cliff edge in March 2019, when we leave the European Union, possibly falling out of the EU single market and falling back on WTO rules?” In reply, a bullish Mr Davis insisted that some of the other 27 EU nations were coming around to the idea of “parallel negotiations”, from early next year. But he added: “She’s quite right that we need to conclude this within the two years to avoid any cliff edge.” It is the first time a Cabinet minister has acknowledged the “cliff edge” threat if Britain is unable to reach agreement on new trading arrangements before Brexit is concluded. The most likely way out is for Britain to negotiate transitional arrangements, possibly on a sector-by-sector basis, starting with financial services. However, such an outcome would anger arch-Brexiteers, because it would involve paying billions into the EU’s budget for many years to come and – possibly – some continued freedom of movement for EU citizens. In the Commons today, Mr Davis signalled that transitional arrangements are under discussion to protect the City, telling MPs that “all possible options” are being explored. The calls for transitional arrangements for the City were led by the former Conservative Northern Ireland Secretary Theresa Villiers – a prominent Leave campaigner.Several times, the Brexit Secretary refused to say whether payments to the EU would continue after 2019 – or whether Britain would also leave its customs union. Stephen Metcalfe, another Tory Leave campaigner, urged Mr Davis to allow “an element of free movement”, to protect science. Sir Keir Starmer, the Shadow Brexit secretary, demanded to know when the Government will publish its negotiating plans, but Mr Davis again refused to give a specific date. Instead, he said: “Over the course of the coming period before the triggering of Article 50, much information will be put out about this and I think the House will be in no doubt what our aims and strategic objectives are.” But, hey, all in brexiteers land is rosy....You keep on thinking that !

Ah, trade talks.... You do realise that this a two way street, dont you ? Lets says, for example, that we open trade talks with Argentina and Brazil, no way would their governments agree to a trade deal without their beef products being able to be sold in the UK.....OK, fine, south American beef gets sold here....Queue some very unhappy British farmers.....

Simply because Pardubice dont want to stage a GP round, due to the staging fees, etc involved..... I have been to every Czech Golden Helmet since 1997, and have spoken to , and exchanged emails with Petr Moravec of the Pardubice club, who feel that the staging fees for a GP are too expensive, and that a profit wouldnt be made. Personally, I think they are wrong, but there you go.... The Pardubice club much prefer to concentrate their efforts on Golden Helmet Weekend, and with the crowds it pulls in, you cant really blame them... There is a fast train connection between Prague and Pardubice, can take as little as 55 minutes, but depends whether you get a regional train, Eurocity or Pendolino....Thats just with the Czech Railway company, Ceske Drahy. Other operators, Leo Express and RegioJet, offer other options.... Transport to the track is OK, being a number 8 or Number 88 bus to the stop "Svitkov, Park", which sets down near a toddlers park, plus, during the Golden Helmet weekend, "speedway special" buses run ("Zlata Prilba" is displayed on the electronic destination board above the driver) I would suggest that anyone going to Pardubice for the Czech Golden Helmet, or even the Prague GP, spends a couple of quid on "CG Transit", by the Pardubice based "Circlegate" , which is available for iPhone, Android, and even Windows Phone, which is quite a popular platform in Central Europe (http://www.circlegate.com), its a great app, and makes getting around a breeze. http://www.swindonrobins.co/news.php?extend.2677 SWINDON'S eagerly-awaited Elite League clash with reigning champions Poole at the Abbey has been moved to Bank Holiday Monday, May 30 (4pm). The switch has been agreed due to the absence of key riders on the intended date of May 26 and has been done in order to provide a competitive meeting which fans of both teams will want to be at. M&S Van Rentals Robins boss Alun Rossiter said: "Speedway is an entertainment business and we want to see a bumper crowd for this fixture at the Abbey. "It's a perfect way to spend a Bank Holiday Monday and we look forward to welcoming both our own fans and those from Poole that fancy making the trip up to back their side." Swindon are next in action next Wednesday and Thursday - they head to King's Lynn on May 18 with the return at the Abbey the following night. Could lead to a bumper crowd.

From the Adver Article : "Former Swindon Town director Bowden, who fronts the Downers Racing group, is hoping to make the Abbey Stadium outfit an increasingly attractive draw after their local consortium were announced as the new co-owners of the Robins today. Bowden, who is also the chairman of the Friends of Lydiard Park independent conservation charity, says that the new Robins board won’t be meddling in on-track affairs and also believes that now is a perfect time to get involved in British speedway."

Swedish Elitserien 2015, Round 7
jeffster replied to Ghostwalker's topic in International World of Speedway
Agree with you both (Racers and RMC) I tweeted Eurosport UK to ask what is going with their Swedish Coverage....They did reply, twice in fact.... Next week will be a live meeting, but the week after is an 8.30 PM transmission, and transmission times are likely to be different each week.... I wouldnt mind if they showed a FULL MATCH in the early hours of Wednesday, at least you could record it and watch it when you wanted. Much prefer that to these one hour "highlights" programmes.... -
