The BSPA managed to find a loophole that all of the premier league's lawyers couldn't? Okay.
-
There is already hardly any continuity of riders year after year. Only one rider above a certain average wouldn't create a new problem.
-
I'd be rooting for Becker as a local boy, but I think he'll struggle to live up to a 4 point average in the top division.
-
The Bosman ruling was about clubs holding the league registration for players that are out of contract.

Flying the whole troupe 5000 miles with equipment will always be a hugely costly venture. There is no low cost alternative. Existing speedway tracks in California are almost unrecognizable for European fans.

Where in the US do you think would be the right venue to host a GP?

I think I am missing something. Last year's wildcards were Vacilik, Holder, Hancock and Pedersen. Of them only Vacilik entered the qualifiers.

I've not heard that before. How long has that been in place?

Kings Lynn v Poole Wednesday August 29th
OldRacer replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Why would Denmark let Klindt go missing on a Wednesday when they clearly don't have to?! -

I'd be interested in a real answer to this as well. Genuinely interested in what the issue is. -
When they rules change on an annual (or more) basis it's hard to know what is precedent and what is a one-off!
-
I can't think of many riders who have fallen back so far at a relatively young age without a devastating injury.

Per Jonsson in 1991. Apparently wanted too much of a pay rise and so stayed in Sweden. Perhaps no coincidence that Reading won the league in 1990 and 1992 when he was there!

I totally agree with this. No one likes from the gate meetings and seeing a few mistakes makes races interesting. -
Premiership Most Improved Rider 2018
OldRacer replied to ReadingRacer2017's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
A contract which deprives one party of his rights is illegal and would be voided if challenged in court. If one could sign a contract giving up you fundamental rights, slavery would be legal. In answer to the original question, for me it has to be Lambert with honorable mentions for Jack Holder and Bewley. -
If Holder continues to be so poor on the biggest stage, it won't be in Monster's interests to maintain their relationship.

Already getting excuses ready for the track? -
That is the actual definition of a mercenary. mercenary [mur-suh-ner-ee] adjective working or acting merely for money or other reward; venal.

Poole v Kings Lynn. Prem B. 1st August 2018

Do you have any numbers to support your statement? I have no idea whether it is true so can't disagree. And yes, something is clearly amiss in British Speedway! -
Poole v Kings Lynn. Prem B. 1st August 2018

As long as they are winning, the crowds come. -
Cricket was selling out international matches with crowds of 10,000+ before T20 was invented and has always attracted plenty of media attention. It certainly wasn't dead even at county level.

Everyone agrees that is does help with track preparation. And it is not allowed anymore. If it was everyone would be doing it openly. You certainly hear stories of waste oil barrels being knocked over while transported across the track and unfortunately rolling while being recovered, but most are subtle enough not to it in front of a crowd! -
There is no longer an issue with priority in the Premiership. With FRN there are no clashes with the championship on Monday/Wednesdays and the international agreements on race nights mean any clashes with Denmark are resolved in favour of Denmark. Making changes makes no difference.
