Half the problem is these young riders have to much pressure put on them at a young age, and to much hype is made about them soon as people think their the next big thing, same happened to Parkinson-Blackburn/Bickley to name just 2 off the top of my head over the last few yrs, just hope the same doesn't happen to Cairns/Rushden when they start racing regularly.

King's Lynn v Ipswich KO Cup SF 1st leg 02/06/25
kevin bass replied to Bagpuss's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No disrespect to Boughen but the ways he's been riding of late it prob makes Lynn stronger whoever they bring in to replace him, yeah if he gates he's fine but if he don't he just shuts off or backs out if things get tight, hope he gets his confidence back and his head straight coz the ability is there as shown when he first started riding, to bigger jump to soon haps or to much pressure, who knows, time will tell. -
Like been said all the top riders who want to ride over here already do as Sheffield found out when Woffy got injured, at best you might get Lambert and one or two more after an easy pay check come late in the season for a handful of meetings.

Agree it's best long-term to get fully fit b4 coming back but Ipi will struggle without him until he is back coz R/R clearly isn't the answer as proved against Leicester what with Brennan having a blip in form and no Thompson to take extra rides if needed, as already been said if anything Thompson is probably a bigger miss as the ain't no one really who can replace his scoring potential at reserve.

Ipswich v Birmingham 24th April

Tbf Tobi normally loves it round Foxhall and Rew will be good value so Birmingham should at least get into the 30's i'd of thought, if 1 or 2 of the others chip in with a few points. -

Ipswich v Oxford Thursday 10th April

Ipswich have long had a regular decent crowd and the chance to see Doyle and Emil week in week out has certainly brought some extra punters in, and as in any sport a winning team will always draw in a better crowd than a losing team, at the end of the day you can only beat what's put in front of you as the saying goes, Ipswich handing out a mauling at home is no different to Belle Vue or Sheffield hammering teams at home on a regular basis. -
Never heard of him😆

Edinburgh v Glasgow April 4th
kevin bass replied to Weeyin's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Young Dan was also a revelation for the Witches last season tbf and was riding well enough to rise out of the reserve position and ride at the much harder number 2 position b4 he had his shoulder injury that pretty much ended his season with Ipswich, he's started this season in the same kind of form he was in b4 his injury last season so hopefully he'll kick on again this year. -

Sheffield Tigers 2025
kevin bass replied to InTheDeepStuff's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
If i remember rightly Hume chucked away 2 or 3 points when in scoring positions in the home leg of the play off final against Sheffield the season before last that in the end made the difference between Ipi holding on for the aggregate win come the second leg at Sheffield, all ifs buts and maybes after the event tho you could say. -
Whoever could that be i wonder😁

There must be questions marks about you as you ain't mentioned Laguta for a good while, has the Laguta love in died a death😆

I used to love watching Lol round Foxhall back in the day when they ran to junior matches after the main match was done, Lol, Shaun Tacey, Sal Clouting and Ben Howe.

Darcy Ward, real natural talent who's career was cut short way to early.

Stadium Admission Prices
kevin bass replied to Daniel Smith's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Don't think it's just the increase in admission prices that could put the older generation off, which we all know makes up the majority of all clubs fan base, it's also the cold and wet weather we nearly always get at the start and end of every season, my parents are a prime example, their both in their mid 80's bless um and have been going to speedway for as long as i can remember and used to have a season ticket for Ipswich, Lynn, P'boro and Mildenhall, obviously 2 of those teams no longer run but my parents haven't purchased a season ticket for Ipi or Lynn for the last couple of yrs mainly because of the weather being so unpredictable ie rain offs or just because they ain't keen on turning out on a cold wet evening, i got them hooked up to BSN and have purchased them a season pass the last couple of seasons now and their quite happy to get their weekly fix of speedway in the comfort of their own front room and only take in an actual live match so to speak if the weather is nailed on to be decent.
