You misunderstand the gist of my post, I'm referring to the group of posters on General Discussions who refuse to accept that Covid was anything other than a scam. If you scroll up a wee bit you'll see a couple of the usual suspects showed up on here to tell Steve he was mistaken in his diagnosis. As Steve says, I hope your wife made a full recovery.

Oh dear, Steve, you obviously haven’t spent much time on the General Discussions section recently. Apparently it’s very clear that Covid was all a big con (similar to that Climate Change rubbish) inflicted upon us by the shadowy cabals who need to keep us in line. Obviously you’ve got nothing but a heavy cold. Don’t normally root for the Pirates but just for you hope they do the business tonight.

You could understand Tai’s inclusion if he had been a member of the GP on merit and the injury had prevented him from trying for 7th, but there seems no sporting reason for including him so it must be sponsorship/financial considerations. Hope he does the pick justice, but suspect he will find it tough.

Kelvins inability to do basic Arithmetic is beyond embarrassing. A 4-2 “won’t be enough”

My first ever Speedway meeting as a 6 year old was Cradley v Newport in September 1968. A damp, exciting spectacle under the lights, I was smitten straight away and my favourite rider from night one was Chris Julian. The programme shows paid 9 from 3 completed rides and an exclusion, I can remember he was involved in some typical Julian escapades during the evening. Sadly his career as a Heathen only lasted one more home meeting for me as when we came to the tapes in 1969 he was no longer a Heathen, but a Wasp. Still maintained a soft spot for him throughout the rest of his career and can remember going to see Newport when they rode at Monmore the following season (a place we would usually only visit when the Heathens were there).

Another publication from London League Publications, written by Peter Lush (who has written previous books with a Wembley link) According to the review on the Speedway Plus website the book is written in 2 distinct parts concerning the 2 riders. Interesting read as ever. As a Belfast resident I was interested in the piece on Dunmore. Unfortunately, I believe the Stadium closed just as I moved here in 2000 and was developed upon. Given how popular motor cycle racing is over here it's a shame Speedway never gained a proper foothold.

Fingers crossed this works out. Beddington Lane would be my bet. Surbiton raceway didn’t exist when I lived there about 35 years ago. Looks adjacent to the Kingston Uni sports fields.

Great racing last night. Shows how good the sport can be. Don’t like the new scoring system - let’s hope it’s for one year only.

Anyone read the Clarke Osborne article in todays Speedway Star?

Odd Fossengen and Edgar Stangeland spring to mind. Odd rode from 1968 -1974 at Poole whilst Ed rode for a number of clubs throughout the 70's.

Hadn't seen that news. Probably makes it less likely that Entain would be prepared to lose Monmore as well.

I suppose it boils down to whether Entain can continue to provide enough dog racing to fulfil the needs of their customers. As far as I know they also run Crayford, Romford and Hove. Having worked for Ladbrokes many years ago my understanding was that they kept the tracks in their ownership (in those days just Crayford and Monmore - Romford and Hove were Coral) to give them more control over the dog racing product in the betting shops.

Finally got round to watching this. Fascinating. Thanks for posting.
