  1. I don't know, the preview on Vetlanda's website didn't provide any info regarding it, however I would assume that this will be brought up in the broadcast so I'll tell you then if they mention why.
  2. Jonas Davidsson will be out for two weeks because of minor injuries that he suffered in a crash in the past weekends round of the European Championship. http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/rospiggarna/davidsson-borta-i-tva-veckor/
  3. Preview round 11 televised meeting is Piraterna - Elit Vetlanda. British Eursport does not show it live this week but later in the evening (9pm Esp 2). continental eurosport shows it live from 20.00 CEST on Eurosport 1. race card: http://www.mediafire.com/view/gjk8fvienuq7jwh/ES.2014.R11.Piraterna-ElitVetlanda.pdf Piraterna - Elit Vetlanda Piraterna (44) Greg Hancock Rory Schlein Bjarne Pedersen Linus Sundström Darcy Ward Anton Rosén Fredrik Engman Elit Vetlanda (46) Leon Madsen Jacob Thorssell Jaroslaw Hampel (K) Tomas H Jonasson Emil Sajfutdinov Kenny Wennerstam Bartosz Zmarzlik Should be a close meeting although I expect Vetlanda to win in the end. Since this meeting is quite important when it comes to which teams that goes to the post-season meetings, I think it is a bit less good by Vetlanda not to field the strongest possible lineup. I know Tai is unavailable but they could have Swapped him for Kolodziej. Rospiggarna - Västervik Rospiggarna (47) Andreas Jonsson Jonas Davidsson R/R Kim Nilsson Timo Lahti Mads Korneliussen Chris Harris Grzegorz Walasek Västervik (43) Przemyslaw Pawlicki Tobiasz Musielak Krzysztof Kasprzak Hans Andersen Peter Ljung (K) Mathias Thörnblom Ludvig Lindgren Västervik lost tonight's meeting against Västervik and it looks more and more certain that Västervik is the team that will demoted to Allsvenskan. They are 6p behind Smederna with 4 rounds remaining of this year's Elitserien. Rospiggarna have only lost one meeting at home and I don't see Västervik being able to defeat Rospiggarna at Rospiggarna's track. Dackarna - Ikaros Smederna Dackarna (41) Nicki Pedersen Michael Jepsen Jensen Alexandr Loktaev R/R Joonas Kylmäkorpi Patryk Dudek Dennis Andersson Robin Aspegren Ikaros Smederna (48) Davey Watt Mikkel Michelsen Peter Karlsson Pawel Przedpelski Oliver Berntzon Grzegorz Zengota Magnus Zetterström Not much to say here really, Kenni apparently does not have enough equipment to be able to ride in this meeting. Quite a bit poor from him really. If you are a professional you have to make sure that you have the equipment required to fulfil your obligations. Kenni have had a bit poor form lately but I still would have preferred him over Watt. Dackarna should win this fairly easy, Smedernq can hopefully salvage the aggregated bonus point but I think it will be difficult. Also Smederna's team managers have to step up compared to last week when they costed us two points by giving Watt three heats and Berntzon 4 heats. That have to change tomorrow. If there are hot reserves and cold regular riders, the reserves have to be used as much as possible (6 heats is maximum allowed number of heats). Smederna need to win to stay in the race for a place in the play off. Indianerna - Vargarna Indianerna (49) Fredrik Lindgren Antonio Lindbäck Piotr Protasiewicz Cameron Woodward Niels-Kristian Iversen Mikael Max Joel Andersson Vargarna (41) Martin Vaculik Pontus Aspgren Peter Kildemand Jason Doyle Adrian Miedzinski Ricky Kling Billy Forsberg This could be a very good meeting and it is too bad this isn't televised since I think this could be a really excellent meeting. Indianerna is usually very strong at home. For Vagarna, Vavulik, Kildemand and Doyle seems to be in very good form so I think this will be tight and intense and that it will end with a victory for Indianerna. Current standings at: http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/Elitserien2014/Serietabell/ top 6 to play off, 8th team demoted to Allsvenskan. live results at: http://www.svemo.se/sv/Grenar/Speedway/ from 19.00 CEST.
  4. Live scores for tonight's meeting: http://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/DrivingSchedule/CompetitionLiveResult.aspx?Branch=Speedway&Columns=CompetitionInfo,Branch,Name,Arena,Organizer,FromDateShort&Datefilter=Today&pagesize=10&CompetitionId=3362
  5. Don't worry we have the same problem far from all tv-meetings are good but obviously Cmore have to variate which track they visit or else a few teams would be much more affected then others.
  6. It is. However there is this small problem though, there is no Grand Prix in Gothenburg.
  7. It depends how many spectators they loose from it in relation to how many sponsors who wouldn't be interesting in sponsoring without tv-coverage. Also IMO a sport without TV-coverage will struggle to get new fans since they might not find out about the sport without it. In Sweden we have a saying that goes like this "syns du inte så finns du inte", translated it means about "if you are not seen, you do not exist". Meaning that you need to have the sport exposed on tv and in media in general to make fans aware of the sport. A good tv-meeting can be a fantastic good advert for the sport, but obviously on days when it feels like the rain is about to start falling in any second, some people will stay at home and watch it on tv.
  8. Nope, Vaculik striked Nicki's front wheel and Nicki fell. Vaculik excluded. very simple.
  9. The only childish person is here was paul himself especially when it came to the constant complaining about moderators when they deleted his complaints. Then it was his constant nagging about his race card at every possible opportunity which got way too tiresome so it was not particular surprising that he got banned. Anyway it will be interesting to see tonight if Nicki, Janusz, Emil and Peter can continue to ride well and possible make a gap to the rest of the riders. Since it is only 4 rounds no rider can afford to trail too much after two rounds. Then since round 3 is at Holsted, Nicki and Kildemand have a great opportunity if they can make a good result tonight.
  10. Do you have any source to verify this claim? I would think over a full season a rider won't earn that much less in England then in Sweden. Our Elitserien starts in May and ends in September, your season starts in March and ends in November. For a rider in Elitserien it is a maximum of 14 meetings +play off (if his team finishes top 6, which is at the most another 6 meetings (4 meetings for a team that finishes top 2). As for the squads, team are only allowed to have 7 riders with average that is greater then 0,500 + two guest riders that are permanent the entire season. A guestrider also have to be Swedish and cannot rider for another team in the same division. Riders with an average at 0,500 does not take up one of the seven places in the squad. Take a look at Smederna's squad: http://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/TeamSections.aspx?TeamId=234 There are 9 riders in the main squad, Oliver Berntzon and Johannes Stark does not count due their low season entry average. PK, Zorro, Berntzon, Eklöf and Henderson are rivals for the three mandatory Swedish positions in the lineup while Kenni Larsen, Davey Watt*, Mikkel Michelse, Grzegorz Zengota and Pawel Przedpelski are rivals for the remaining 4 positions for each meeting. Squads can only changed during the mid-season transfer window, except for injured riders who are expected to be away for 4 weeks or more, which can be temporarily replaced during their absence (with some restrictions regarding average for the replacing rider). *Davey Watt is a temporary replacement for Grigorij Laguta until Laguta returns from injury. For more info see this thread.
  11. actually he still do it, although he have said that this year's edition was the last year. http://www.svt.se/nyheter/regionalt/ostnytt/varg-olles-speedwayskola-pa-sista-varvet Regarding the Danish league it's definitely on the rise but there is still allot of stuff that not works as good as desired. I.e.there seems to be allot of arguing before each season about which riders should be put in each category. All team managers obviously want to be able to field as strong team as possible and therefore want their riders to be in a lower category. Also all foreign riders are in the same category regardless of how good they are. Then there is the thing with the inconsistent rule regarding points in the Danish finals. In Denmark they have two individual finals each season and for the Event 1 final the points from the final heat is not counted towards the total score of both finals while the the opposite applies to the final heat of event 2. This also means that sometimes it is clear who is champion before the final heat of Event 2.
  12. Lineups for the postponed meeting between Piraterna and Västervik which will be held on Monday. http://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Competition/CompetitionTeamMembers.aspx?CompetitionId=3362
  13. Grigorij injured himself in a Russian league meeting in June (maybe about a month ago or so). It was after he had won a heat, he put his foot down on the track but it got stuck between the ground and the foot rest so he broke it (again). He is expected to be away for another 3 weeks are so. You have an article in Swedish here: http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/smederna/smedstjarna-skadade-sig-i-ryssland/
  14. yes, this Monday (July 21st). Lineups will be available at Saturday at 21.00 It seems that this will not be shown live on Eurosport UK. German and Dutch Eurosport have it live from 20.00 CEST on Eurosport 1 (ES 2 for Finland).
  15. As for the best GP, I can only judge from what I've seen on tv but judging from that Torun is usually the best GP of the season. A very good arena with probably the best track of the SGP season.
  16. In we Sweden we have these speedway school as well: http://www1.idrottonline.se/SmedernaSpeedwayforening-MotorcykelochSnoskoter/Ungdom/OKQ8Speedwayskola/ I think they are quite popular but the main problem is to get the riders to continue with speedway at a higher level. From the spedway school to 80cc and from 80cc to 500cc racing. Many quits because it becomes too expensive. I think this why DK is so successful. Hd The clubs & the federation are very supportive towards the riders, i.e. when it comes to finding sponsors and etc.
  17. Weather is always a big factor. Two weeks ago Smederna had only 2000 in the attendances the weather had been grey with rain showers for several days. Yesterday the weather was pretty warm and sunny and the attendance was almost 4000.
  18. Hammarby speedway still have huge problems with their track Gubbängen. The problem have been their the entire season and consists of large chunks of the track that comes loose during racing on the track. Today a referee made a an examination of the track and he noticed that the problem still exists and the track remains as not approved for racing. If the problems is not fixed at noon tomorrow then tomorrow's meeting between Hammarby and Griparna will be postponed, This meeting was originally held in May but was aborted due to the problems mentioned above. I very much doubt that a problem which have been there for a month and a half, suddenly will be fixed within 24 hours. So the most likely scenario is that Hammarby -Griparna tomorrow will be postponed again and that Hammarby either have to withdraw from Allsvenskan or use other tracks like Eskilstuna or Hallstavik for their remaining home meetings this season. http://www.sn.se/sport/1.2494692
  19. Next weeks televised meeting is Piraterna - Elit Vetlanda.
  20. RR, no Zagar is in for a minimum of 28 days after that Holder will re-take his place in the squad as soon as he returns from injury.
  21. This why CL won't work since both Ward and Holder also rides for Piraterna. For Piraterna they only have Greg and Bjarne left as well as two lower string Swedish riders.
  22. The attendance average for Allsvenskan is almost 780: http://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Serie/Audience/AudienceStatistics.aspx?SerieId=591 Div 1 have low attendances: http://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Serie/Audience/AudienceStatistics.aspx?SerieId=595 but the costs are also much smaller, most of the teams in Div1 are subsidiaries of Elitserien or Allsvenskan teams and those Div1 teams are used as both a sort of "development teams" for new 500cc riders and for those Swedish riders who rarely gets to ride in Elitserien.
  23. 1. Some clubs also own their own track, but those who don't usually pay rent. Also many teams have worked hard to improve the standard of their arenas. 2. Sponsors are not necessarily local, Smederna's main sponsor is located in Malmö some 600km from Eskilstuna. 3. It varies from round to round and from track to track; http://ta.svemo.se/Public/Pages/Serie/Audience/AudienceStatistics.aspx?SerieId=590 4. Tracks does not go bust, clubs do.
  24. Yeah I know but this thread refers to the meeting against Vetlanda which was two weeks ago.
