For those who have a receipt from yesterdays meeting I'd say that is likely but I have not seen any confirmation though. That is standard procedure for meetings that are rained off before 8 heats are completed. Earlier years you got rain ticket when you paid the entrance fee, but since the clubs have to have cash registers nowadays, the cash register receipt have replaces the rain ticket for the same purpose, that you get a free entry to another meeting of a similar type. Basically it's there so you shouldn't have to pay twice for the same meeting. Also quarter-final parings have been decided, Rospiggarna picked Smederna: Tuesday August 26th: Quarter final leg 1:2 Ikaros Smederna - Rospiggarna Dackarna - Indianerna Both QF will be televised, but main focus for next week is Indianerna-Dackarna. Tuesday September 2nd: Quarter final leg 2:2 Rospiggarna - Ikaros Smederna Indianerna - Dackarna

Obviously there should be a one week extra between the last round and the QF's and one week extra between QF and semi finals and etc.. With the QF and SF both being back to back meetings.

When a meeting is cancelled before 8 completed heats, the entry fee receipt is valid as a ticket for a meeting of "similar" type.

Vargarna's decision also means that those spectators who attended the meeting yesterday will have a rain ticket for the qf which means that Smederna won't make so much money on it as they normally would. I got quite a surprise when I woke up this morning. Vargarna have decided to hand Smederna a Walk Over for tonight's match. Vargarna's chairmen of the board says that Vargarna won't have time to sell/market the play off properly and therefore they decided to hand Smederna a Walk Over. Imo FIM needs to take a look at their own rules and perhaps do a total makeover. 1. Any rider getting caught with any forbidden substance in their system (or illegal equipment) should by default receive a temporary ban during while the investigation is ongoing.It should not matter what substance it is or if it is doping or alcohol or drugs. Now Dudek is suspended but Ward is not and Wards offense is much worse. It just shows that there is a huge difference if your name is Darcy Ward or Patryk Dudek. 2. Then there should be pre-defined penalty rate for all of the possible rule violations so that the penalties will be applied automatically.if riders is found guilty. Like if a rider is caught with a tampered silencer, he will automatically receive 6 months suspension (lex Eddie Kennett), getting caught with stimulant substance (like Dudek) 1 year suspension. Getting caught with an alcohol level i,e. between 0,10mg/litre exhaled air and 0,30mg/litre exhaled air 1 year suspension. Over 0,30mg/litre exhaled air 2 years suspension+compulsory "community service". +a medical certification that the rider have been sober for a specified amount of times (like the last 6 months of the suspension) before he can have his license back. Obviously intention to ride while intoxicated should be considered a more major offence then tampering with a silencer or using a minor doping substance. The point is that that every rider gets the same punishment for the same offence if FIM had a standardized penalty rate (straffsats in Swedish).,

I don't know at the moment, usually postponed meetings are not televised since Cmore have a budget for each season and it usually don't allow any extra meetings being shown. I'll keep you updated though. Smederna wanted to have the re-staging tomorrow, Vargarna want to have it on Thursday. It has to be finished before 20.00 on Sunday though since that is when the away teams' line-up declarations is due. New attempt tomorrow at 19.00 Swedish time. They have a motorgrader working with the track. It doesnt rain at the moment but more rain is on the way And just as i writr that it rains again. smederna really unlucky with 1.5 in heat 7. I disagree. Darcy shouldn't have been drinking at all and he should also have realized that too much alcohol too close to a meeting would make him intoxicated the day after.

Imo it also is quite a double standard by Ward. He was one of those who criticized Nicki Pedersen for dangerous riding, then Darcy tries/intends to ride while still being intoxicated by alcohol.

FIM are aware of that Darcy's Swedish team have a meeting tonight and Tony Olsson thinks there will be decision taken today. I think 8 months would be a bit to little since it would not have any meaning since he would do the surgery and then be back in time for next years season. He would have a ban but how much racing would he miss? Hardly any.

Tonight's tv meeting from Eskilstuna between Smederna and Vargarna are in a big doubt due lots of rain both yesterday and today. I doubt that there will be any live speedway on ESP next week due to US open in tennis and tennis is without a doubt a much bigger sport with more viewers then speedway so I understand there choice if they choose tennis over speedway.
