At Wolves I would get there just after 6pm to make sure I'd get a car park space (earlier at bigger meetings) and wait for the turnstiles to open, then grab a programme, queue up for some food, eat and chat to my friends before the parade. At Birmingham I'd be quite a bit earlier as I'd be working.

Without Birmingham Wheels, put simply, I would not have a career. I did my first ever commentaries on the stock cars there and spent just about every Saturday evening of my 20s there.

Premier Sports match has been changed - it is now Indianerna v Piraterna.

I think that's a different name for every year they operated. And in all those years, they barely won a match!

Not speedway, but there is a car racer who competes in saloon car events with a triple-barrelled name - Charles Hyde-Andrews-Bird.

Big crash in the support class caused a long delay, so I was informed earlier.
