  1. Interesting article in the Speedway Star and interview with Martin Dugard. Who has no part of the ownership and was even removed from the stadium by Eric Dugard (owner). "I know there are applications for planning going on ... If there is one less sport in the stadium; it means there is more chance they will allow planning there. But I am not privvy to what is going on." He talked about the fractious relationship he and Jon Cook had as tenants at Arlington in a podcast - may of been My life in Speedway well worth a listen. Worrying as there was article on various closed tracks recently and a map in with the remaining tracks - considering you can eliminate Peterborough, Edinburgh from that map shortly it doesn't bode well as team sport in the current climate , despite the success of Oxford , Workington to get tracks back running.
  2. Electric Speedway Bikes - No thanks !! Even my kids loved the noise, the smell - speedway in silence in no thanks.
  3. As most have stated Belle Vue + Sheffield look very strong. Ipswich with the Emil and Doyle pairing will be competitive and no doubt will get plenty of Eurosport coverage. The rest of the teams look pretty even and should keep the league competitive. Leicester look pretty solid, especially if Fricke can make a contribution as an out and #1. Wolves despite the home track advantage and Peterborough Panthers look weakest. Panthers took ages to get the team finalised + just not convinced. Pedersen + Iversen back from injury. Andersen struggled last season although Basso is on the upward curve just don't think they will challenge for play-offs. Stars look ok but can see them having some horror meetings away from Norfolk. Hopefully though we will get a decent season of speedway with tracks allowing riders to race and entertain. Belle Vue Sheffield Ipswich Leicester Kings Lynn Wolverhampton Peterborough
  4. A shame but would be no great surprise for the site to be housing in the next couple of years. Eastbourne Speedway was the family night out for a decade as the kids were taken to Arlington in a buggy / carry cot. Living in Surrey no options for Speedway locally unfortunately ; so kids have missed out apart from British Final and British SGP. Regular speedway is not an option geographically perhaps we will look to visit Oxford or Peteborough in the school holidays but I personally can't see Eastbourne / Lakeside ever returning to speedway.
  5. "Croydon Hitmen" Race Jacket would be a Two Knives
  6. The Tigers look the strongest at this stage but many said the same last year. They certainly mean business with that 1-7.
  7. My family and I spoke to Nicki P at Cardiff 2022 and although still suffering from his injuries he stated he was definitely racing in 2023 !!
  8. Nicholls would be excellent at Plymouth an artist on the small track.
  9. Decent meeting tonight + with a 12 point lead meeting still in the balance. Lambert absolute different gravy. The battle with Holder was super in ht 11 speedway out of the top drawer. Looking at speedway updates last meeting in Sept at Owlerton - Kurtz scored 12 with 4 heat wins , Zagar 9 (6) Tom Brennan 1+1 . Not sure how Lambert goes there but he has been absolute class in the two NSS meetings. Game on for the 2nd leg !!! Hope Etheridge and Wright not too beaten up. Musielak is supposedly fine but looked an awkward soil sample. Great to see a decent crowd and a good Sheffield away support roll on to Thurs
  10. Brilliant effort by Vaculik tonight - Should guarantee a wild card spot for 23 !!
  11. Congrats to Dan Bewley the guy was a different gravy and winning races easily. Fair play to Tom Brennan being the "Top of the Brits" racing in the UK didn't look quite as quick but rode some excellent 1st +2nd corners to get himself in good scoring positions. Enjoyed the meeting.
  12. My understanding is they use a harder compound of tyre in Poland. Because with most of the tracks in Poland being throttle merchants you would think they would have a similar problem but I read they have access to a harder compound.
  13. Unfortunate BUT no surprise. Would be no shock to see a planning permission for housing updated + announced in the next 12 months.
  14. Peterborough Panthers Twitter Page - We will make an announcement over the future of the club at Thursday’s final home meeting of the season against Belle Vue (7.30pm). Would be very strange to make announcement last meeting of the season if not running in 2023. BUT nothing would come as a surprise - this is speedway we are talking about.
  15. Prague is an appalling racetrack. The SGP's there are as dull as dishwater. Great city but the track needs banking.
  16. Kennett Crescent would have to be a cul-de-sac.
  17. If there was two SGP's in UK - I would probably go to both as I have no local track but with the cost's involved with Cardiff and distance of Manchester from home I would stay at Manchester simply due to logistics.
  18. Had a bet on Madsen to win and cheeky ew's on Woffinden and Holder. Woffinden got a decent return at Vojens before his spill in training. Holder we saw what he did in the SoN and double figure odds. Love to see Bewley do it again though !!
  19. As long as Anlas pay for the bar bill at the AGM all should be good.
  20. Won't be making the trip from Surrey - Especially with the RMT strike on the 17th Sep - Avanti will be in a state of carnage. Will watch on Eurosport.
  21. Czestochowa the speedway equivalent of Tottenham - Bottled it again. Fair play to Gorzow though.
