World Cup - Wroclaw July 2023
Hackett replied to Monarchs2468's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Better meeting tonight but as a competitive spectacle that was over by heat 7 . Track had improved but many riders have said track is different from Wroclaw league meetings. The Final will be more competitive as all teams can take points off each other rather than 2 competitive teams and 2 teams of 1or2 riders. Meeting tomorrow should be in front of a decent crowd. SWC was curtailed because Poland were winning it regularly since 2005 -2017 (8 victories in 12 years) - I would be very surprised if they don't win tomorrow on home shale but should be a decent meeting. -
It has been like this for decades. If you look in the Speedway Star in the noughties or 90's I would imagine much the same was being said then. This is what happens when a professional sport is run by amateurs and only looking after themselves not the collective good of the sport. The positive progressive stories of Oxford, Workington and Belle Vue are totally undermined by the farcical situation at KLynn and Pboro. The shadow over Wolves, Edinburgh's future. Needs a progressive and forthright CEO to lead the sport without the connection to any club but for the greater good of the sport. The reality of that happening ........

Tried to make the SWC meeting a little more interesting Backed Australia to get 43+ and Denmark to get under 47. Then an individual bet - Lahti 10/11 to score over 6 Lahti +0 to score more than Bellego Lidsey +1 to outscore Pedersen J Holder +1 to outscore Madsen

Kings Lynn Stars Vs Peterborough Panthers

Artem LAGUTA 2 3 3 3 2 13 0 Seemed to have a pretty decent meeting at Leszno no mention of any soil samples ... but for all Chris Louis kind words on Buster Chapman most appreciate that this is a cost cutting exercise. "El Brassico" - Will be rained off anyway, I would think. -

Having watched the first two meetings of the SWC , it has been pretty dull racing on the most part. The issue with this format is that you are mainly looking at two competitive teams and two teams with one competitive rider in the early rounds. Hopefully the play-off will be a tighter meeting with teams able to take points off each other. Impressed with Berge tonight has improved since the SoN '21 when it was Bellego getting the majority of the points for France. Plus good to see Timo Lahti hugging the kerb, reminiscent of his days riding with the Eastbourne Eagles. -

Job done and straight through to the Final. 4th rider is going to be our achilles heel but an excellent night. Pity that the track was pretty poor as a spectacle. #jobdone -

Nowt as yet -
Haven't seen any social media promoting the British Final tickets. However checked Belle Vue site and tickets are now available ,although most of Grandstand C already gone.

I am just grateful that Speedway has a magazine. Yes ; the content is PR releases in the main but occasionally a couple of decent articles / features appear. The Briggo one was a recent one of interest gave an insight into the rider / person + character. Hopefully it will continue but having worked 15 years in media + advertising it will have a dwindling demographic and audience.

Buster would save money.
-
Kings Lynn have got a decent gate !!!!
-
so the SCB were correct he does have the runs.
-
Hence why the majority are giving it a miss
-
Absolutely farcical !! A 7day ban when the Stars have no meetings - At least he should be safe for the "El Brassico" in July
-
Will he only do Home meetings. ????
-
If anymore teams drop out of the League - We will be able to call it the Premiership Pair.

Pretty decent meeting tonight. Tarasenko was good value for his 1st meeting at the Showground had plenty of speed when he hit the front. Excellent heat 12 and a great effort from Jenkins to keep the Aces at bay but to no avail. The Aces were just solid from 1-7 with Mulford doing his part as well despite poorer returns from Wright and Kurtz they still deservedly take the points. For the Panthers at least they have two "El Brassico" vs Stars in July
-
Pretty pathetic away performance from the Stars. Decent effort from Morris but 5pts between Harris and Klindt the other two heat leaders shows how dominant Wolves are at Monmore Green. As for Laguta there are no away meetings until mid July - Leicester + Peterborough. So guess more a case of whether further financial cost-cutting has taken place by Chapman.
-
Probably cheaper though - so all good. #ElBrassico

Gorzow GP Saturday 24th June 2023
Hackett replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Totally agree. I would say that with Zmarzlik and even with illness Lindgren has been the most consistent of riders at SGP level. In terms of the SGP it is becoming more and more repetitive but that is mainly down to track prep. All the tracks have been so slick. Prague, Teterow and Gorican tend to be pretty mundane meetings at the best of times. As for Gorzow it was unlikely to be any other result with the form of the riders and Zmarzlik riding the track since a kid. Apart from Artem and Emil this is pretty much the best of the riders in the world. Unfortunately Zmarzlik is not only only quick he is just so consistent - Like watching Rickardson again Final - Final - Final . Let's see what Mallila brings it is Bewley's home track so perhaps that will work in his favour. Although I imagine SGP will strip it down to like riding on the M25 again ............... oh and checking last year Zmarzlik won the Swedish SGP. -
My fear with Basso over Riss is that the Panther has not exactly excelled at Foxhall this season but Riss seems to be struggling at the moment. He stated that it wasn't his illness / virus but his bike, which certainly did not offer much on Monday at Kings Lynn.

Agreed think these are both decent bets. On Rider Match Ups on Bet365 have Lawson +0 vs Ellis +0 - Lawson is 11/10

Must be a ploy to get 6or7 rides for Andersen
