British Final 2022
Hackett replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
If you are a British rider you should have an opportunity to ride in the British Final. The only riders currently riding abroad only are Woffinden , Lambert + Bewley so why punish those ?? Majority of riders in the Final were riding in Britain and that field was stretched with the withdrawal of Barker and Cook the week prior. -

The development of Brennan has been excellent. I saw him race his first race in Eastbourne kevlars and he failed to make it into bend 2 !!!!! He has come on leaps and bounds and I am sure with the right development can move forward. On Monday he was excellent and shows how far he has progressed. He was fast , aggressive and determined. My kids will be proud to wear his colours on Sun !!! -

Sure Tommy B will be heading that way. On podcasts during lock-down Martin Dugard was saying Tom needed to get more European experience he has done that this season and I am sure with a strong performance in the SGP2 next week and I am sure he will be representing his Polish team more regularly in 2023. -

Brummies - "More guests than a Premier Inn" Would be a major surprise if they are running in 2023. -
For British Speedway - I have always been told Bet365 - SkyBet didn't have odds for the British Final on Monday. So I opened a Bet 365 account for a couple of punts.

Do You Think Speedway might do in London in Future??.
Hackett replied to speed29's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Cost would be prohibitive. With so many "wokes" in society these days and noise pollution there is zero chance of speedway in London unless a Saudi Arabian Royal Family member falls in love with the sport. -
Can't see it !! The cost of putting a temporary track in at Odsal would be vastly greater than potentially putting a temporary stand up at Belle Vue in order to increase the attendance.

Should anybody find any streams or links for Speedway of Nations this week - feel free to post them. -
No sign of any SGP Merchandise online - Naturally will be plenty of unofficial vendors and I guess Monster at the fan zone.

At Arlington we used to get there about an hour before ... Get a seat in Grandstand , kids could go to the pits and then get a cardboard burger. With no local tracks we haven't even been in 2022 yet .... 2 more weeks until the British Final.

The price for the tickets is competitively priced family tickets £60 (2adults and 2kids) which is pretty decent. Although the price of a train from London is over £300 return even with an advance booking.

Saw on Twitter that the Brummies announced he is out for the season. So for remainder of '22 Birmingham will have more guests than a Premier Inn.

Why a farce ????? Would you ride in the UK when the alternative is to earn threefold in Poland. I know what I would do. -

Glad that the train strike is not on the 1st Aug - So weather permitting all should be good. #BewleyBewleyBewley -
Peterborough v Wolves - Mon 11th July
Hackett replied to bigcatdiary's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Build for next season ?? It doesn't sound like there will be a Panthers next season. As for tonight fortunate Masters had an off night or the defeat could of been heavier. I remember earlier in the season when Panthers were covered on Eurosport a rider slating the new track surface / shale at Peterborough claiming it was one of his favourite tracks but now garbage ( or words to that effect) - could this be the reason or is it just a case of one season too many. -
Keep up the good work and fingers crossed everything works out. July - First time in my kids lifetime (12+16) they have not been to a live speedway meeting - ( covid season apart ) they were taken when in a carrycot and been to nearly every meeting since at Arlington. This season their first meeting will be The British Final at Belle Vue. Hopefully Tom Brennan makes it.

Imagine that the Abbey Stadium situation will follow a similar path as Brandon and Milton Keynes which I saw somebody highlight on twitter I believe. Plans to rebuild Milton Keynes Stadium at the Elfield Park site near the Milton Keynes Bowl were unveiled in 1998 and early 2005. The plans failed to materialise and the Greyhound Stadium closed down on Boxing Day 2005, it became derelict and then suffered major fire which resulted in the demolition of the site before a housing estate replaced it in 2014. As for Poole - yes speedway is the town's premium sport but will that matter when the Council see the colour of money for property development .. I doubt it.

Depends if they are seeded - however this year I am not aware of any qualifiers taking place. So I guess it will all be by invitation. -
Good to see The Argus giving the Eastbourne Eagles situation some publicity. Good luck to all involved - £150,000++ + anybody got a tractor ???

No line up yet but tickets went on sale this morning. -
Those support numbers is pretty pitiful. As it states in the article England's second city - little over 350. Well we all know that is not sustainable and effectively Brummie's situation was up against it from the start of the season. Would be a big ask to see Birmingham speedway in 2023 with those losses. So could be no Newcastle, Birmingham and Peterborough next season - three major cities across the country with no speedway. Completely mirrors the success that Oxford Cheetah's seem to be having - support wise.
-
Would take any speedway. My children are 12 + 16 this is the first speedway season (pandemic apart) they have not been to a speedway meeting. Although they are looking forward to Cardiff SGP and the British Final should tickets ever become available. As for Eastbourne let's hope they kind find some significant backing.
