Premiership Predictions 2026

Interesting and honest interview. Improve the commercial side as it is in a worse situation now than ever before in terms of sponsorship. Good to hear his enthusiasm in having Cairns + Rushen down at reserve and it would make good sense to think that they will be used in promoting the sport to the local media and the targeted younger demographic. Fingers crossed on the positivity over the potential Coventry return and the future of Poole although I personally wouldn't trust any council when they are losing so much money + always at risk when a tenant and Councils looking at any potential development for a cash injection. In terms of a TV deal it will be interesting to see what happens in the future but can't see HBO or Sky Sports getting involved again with there current sporting priorities perhaps Netflix may be an option. Should be an interesting meeting on Fri with former Pirates Nicholls, King, Thomsen + Thompson back at Wimborne Road,

Poland pays the money !! TB was contracted to his Polish club well in advance of Ipswich and that is where the dollar can be earnt so naturally have to follow instructions. Tom did say on socials he was at Ipswich yesterday . As for the kevlars they look similar to last years but neat and tidy.
-
Read this and they dont need to announce any official club information, Just teasers on social media would be a simple way of building engagement. Putting up fixtures , different kevlars, team names etc Announcing at the same time could still be done but a feeder campaign to generate interest, tags and trending. Even a two week warning and countdown. Seems like a wasted opportunity to generate interest.
-
Noted the Press Day photos and the new kevlars, certainly much improved on last seasons "watch this space" version.

Great heat on You Tube and Social Media from BSN - showing what Pickering will offer at Scunny,
-
As "Karlito" says on the You Tube post this is a wasted opportunity to tease social media with information . Even if it was simple teasers with 4 potential team names / colours / kevlar designs etc .... Advertising the fixtures and the first meeting - just to gain traffic to the X / IG feeds. With everbody having no choice to Enjoy the Silence, the questions whether this will actually be ready in 30 days will get louder and louder.

Think for Redcar that is the best option. NK has good knowledge of UK tracks. Wising Charles Wright a speedy recovery but would guess that NK could be at Redcar for 2 months at least.

British final 15th August
Hackett replied to Neila's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
Will some riders bother without the British SGP spot ??? BSPL will make the decision on the Wild Card. Every likelyhood it will be Tom Brennan and/or Leon Flint. Well if it is all about publicity and marketing give Fri to Scott Nicholls and the Sat to Chris Harris. For services to British Speedway and the farewell tour for the former. Should guarantee some extra press coverage and then make one of the reserves Cooper Rushen / Will Cairns each night. -
What about Northampton?
Hackett replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Did not think this would get to the starting tapes due to the costs involved. Great to see a new track and hopefully for the longterm. Good luck to the Northampton Nomads / Bees / Badgers / Foxes / Wolves / Saints Wonder what kevlar colours green black and gold / claret and white ??? Hopefully they can promote it well and build up a solid fanbase. -
If Phil Morris is involved , it has probably been over watered.

What about Northampton?
Hackett replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Exactly - As quoted in the Speedway Star stated costs could vary between £130,000 - £200,000. So before the SCB could even issue a license it would need work on a pits area, changing rooms for riders, removing obstructions and acquiring a foam safety fence. Would be throwing £200k down the drain before the actual losses of a speedway season. -
What about Northampton?
Hackett replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Mentioned in the Speedway Star a couple of weeks back that the original potential promoter had fallen through because of the the set-up costs that seem to vary between £130,000 - £200,000. So before the SCB could even issue a license it would need work on a pits area, changing rooms for riders, removing obstructions and acquiring a foam safety fence. Although the main suppliers of the foam fence have now gone into liquidation. -
Championship KO Cup Draw
Hackett replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Totally Embarrassing. You wonder who signed that off !! Rumour has it that the Sex Pistols will dress up as Cradley Heath Heathens for the next campaign. BSPL are lining up JVC Video to be Cup Sponsors. -
Sure it featured in the Speedway Star also. FRom memory he wasn't getting regular racing in Poland or struggled due to lack of racing and mentiined the UK as a potential opportunity to develop and get regular racing. If his salary expectations weren't too high and logistics worked if on an assessed average could be worth an option. Although with Kildemand riding at Berwick he will have machinery + mechanic already in place.

Clarke Osborne is a parasite. Although Torquay Utd fans would probably call him far worse,

2026 Premiership is Go! - At least 5 teams
Hackett replied to RoundTheBoards's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Considering the numbers in the Premiership this is all that could be done. Rightly so the Championship promoters didn't want the additional cost. HOWEVER they need to have plans in place for 2027 before the play-offs. As next season will bring a whole wave of new problems that cant be ignored and needs to be addressed head on. If they don't have a suitable plan in motion moving forward if the new Poland restrictions take place there won't be to many riders waiting for a contract. So yet another "speedway elastoplast" wont be a remedy from here on in. -
Do we need some new faces ?
Hackett replied to Lionsman66's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Seem to recall Phillip Hellstrom Bangs mentioning in an article he would consider the UK as he was struggling to get enough rides. Not sure what he is up to this season , could be an option potentially depending on his average. Slater Lightcap the USA rider but would think the Polish teams will be looking to sign these riders moving forward. -
He will be very very fortunate if anybody gives him an opportunity in speedway again. He may be better served selling those art prints on ebay ot etsy.

Shaping up to be a pretty solid line up,

I manage to get my Speedway Star in Asda , usually can get it on a Thurs or Fri at the latest. If left to Royal Mail we'd probably get sense from the AGM before my next copy arrives. Having worked in the media industry - B2B and consumer mags , I am surprised that the magazine hasn't gone totally digital. Would guess more about the demographic of the readership but if postage costs keep rising and circulation drops don't be surprised it moves into the digital remit. Certainly an opportunity for a speedway website or app simlar to the PGE Ekstraliga version.
