After the farcical situation British Speedway was in at the start of the season , it was said that there would be a meeting mid season to determine the strategy for next year with the likely rider shortage created by possible Polish legislation. All I have read in the Speedway Star is that most Championship teams are happy and not looking to move into the Premiership. The silence seems to suggest they are all waiting for Poland Speedway to determine what they are planning as regulations and go from there.

I sat that on X wasn't sure whether it meant the sport or speedway in Poland and was lost in translation. Could it have been in response to sitting at reserve in the SWC ??? He returned from injury this season and just didn't get an opportunity to build his confidence. Got bombed out by Bydgoscz early and struggled at #1 at Ipswich to gain any momentum. When I have seen clips from socials he will have a great race and then fail to score or runs a 3rd place.Just inconsistent but not for the want of trying and lacks some confidence , needs to get to the end of the season and then a take time out and the come back stronger next season whether that in Poland , UK or wherever.

Plenty of effort from Team GB but not enough speed BUT Flint, Wright + Ellis can all be proud of their effort just not at the top level needed to get on the podium. Lambert proved he is at the top of the sport currently and going to be competitive with Vojens and Torun remaining in the SGP series. Australia fully deserved the win and got ahead early and then as the meeting went on picked up the necessary points and remained competitive all night. Superb first corned by Doyle even if with the Gold medal won. Poland should have dropped Kubera out earlier and got Woryna involved earlier sure the Polish press would be pointing fingers. Whether the riders chosen or for having the meeting in a great venue BUT not a permanent race track.

Back in the day , I recall one of the promoters at Eastbourne stating that one stockcar meeting made more money than speedway did in a season.

Going to be a long night for Team GB. Questionable whether that team would have got through the Semi-Final.

Will all come down to the viewing figures. AS a spectacle , us as speedway fans no it wasn't the finest meeting at the NSS but there were a few moments for new eyes to the sport to enjoy. Rushen gave them the story throughout the meeting. Hopefully ITV think it was worthy of the test-run and something they look to pick up later this season or next.

100% imagine they want him back for the Play-Offs if they can make it happen and don't want anything jeopardising their inbvestment. (or certainly the way they see it as they pay the money).

Excellent news and everybody should be posting about this on their social media and hopefully generate decent viewing figures. This is an opportunity to get the sport in front of new eyes so hope the meeting is a good one. (Shame the AI poster has a typo on the Trophy ) so I shall be posting my own version but hopefully the sport can make the most of this opportunity. .

Be very surprised if Bewley rides. No mention of him having any practice rides in Poland or even Workington so I would imagine this is very much a PR exercise.

Doubt having the SWC Semi-final on the Friday followed by a SGP meeting on the Sat helped the track. Even with the track improvements with banking + the kerb moved to make an inside line possible the meeting was a procession on the most part. Always seem to remember Riga being pretty dire racing at the best of times. SGP came down to two gates and as the meeting came to its conclusion whoever had the inside gate. Gate three was an absolute graveyard.

I heard this later this week but with the site laying there as a derelict site and potential security , health and safety issues the Council may say one thing now BUT we all know money tends to dictate and with councils continually looking to find more + more funds and with Wealden District Council reported to have debts of over £53 million that may all change in time, possibly aftera couple of fires or a travellers circus on the site ...

🏘️🏘️🏘️ = 💰💰💰💰💰 Comes as no great surprise once the gates closed on the speedway team and the venue become a one sport stadium, that the next step would be property development or planning permission. Such a shame as the speedway track has great memories for my family and kids BUT since Ian Jordan left the Eagles high and dry this was inevitable just a case of when. Dugard Corner , Norris Way , Kennett Court, Richardson Road.

Considering the injuriesthat are listed in the Speedway Star I doubt Holder will be back this season. "I broke my humerous pretty good + had to have an operation on that. I've also broken my right foot, my right ankle + a couple of ribs". "I also broke the sacrum bone in my pelvis. That's probably the worst one right now. It's uncomfortable to sit down". "When I crashed my arm was pointing the other way amd something with my back was uncomfortable ....."

Prioe to the season and after running round the SCB + Promoters were quoted as saying we need to get ready for 2027 well in advance of the end of the season and the meetings would be held + decisions made during the season. Have DID they ever take place or will it be heads in the air-fence until Nov or Jan.

Does anybody know if this meeting ever took place or is it the case of British Speedway lets be re-active rather than pro-active and addressing the situation earlier. BECAUSE with Lindgren, Bewley, Holder injuries , you can only believe that Polish Speedway will look to prevent riders even riding in Sweden, Denmark and UK.

The very same. We were regulars at Eastbourne and the children (16+20 now) were introduced to speedway in a carrycot. Week in , week out even in the NL days. We would go and watch speedway when they raced away at Lakeside and took them to Rye House when the opportunity allowed. Now with demise of Eastbourne (rinsed by Ian Jordan) and no Lakeside there is no speedway close to us in Greater London / Surrey. So we have had a trip to Oxford and a trip to Norfolk last year and watched a meeting at Kings Lynn + Ipswich but with no league racing on tv - HBO/TNT/BT it is now just a case of checking results on the BSN app + watching races on twitter. Our speedway fix now is the SGP series on TV, my daughter returns from University for each SGP and we watch it as a family. That's it !! The sport is in Cardiac arrest !!

No Ben Fund but they do cover the riders insurance. 😉

Is it an International ban or just Denmark ??? No doubt his Polish club will have him riding on a Polish Licence before the end of July.

Even if they can utilise 10% of Wroclaw knowledge of sponsorship, promotion, improving merchandise + access to the sport it will be more than worth it for Ipswich. Be interested to see what Sparta truly feel that they are getting out of the deal apart from Coleman's ear.

Mark Loram like Bomber rarely made starts. Top at finding the dirt and riding high wide and handsome. Apart from when he rode for Eastbourne as he had to gate there. Joe Screen was another that was decent finding ways to pass riders.

As a neutral - Kemp is a pretty decent signing all things considered. Cook was always going to be a high risk signing and unfortunately for the Comets it has not worked out. Considering their options think Kemp is a decent shout. He isn't likely to scorte 10-15 pts every meeting but is a solid option.

Decent signing for the Aces and good to see Doyle back in British speedway.
