  1. It was indeed Phil Brown did nowt in individual meetings ... but give him a baton and an Englan vest and the fella could run.
  2. Excellent effort from Lyons Cubs tonight. To be honest I think Team GB with Scott Nicholls and Lee Richardson will struggle in Lezno and Pboro was all about gaining experience. Last night was a learning experience for the Team GB and in truth possibly the worst performers were the most experienced riders on show - Kennett and Harris. For Bridger, King and Woffinden it was all about gaining experience on the World scene. None of the riders can be questioned for effort ... and Bridger had it nailed when he was caught on camera saying "we are doing better than they did last year" So what did they learn ?? That you have to make the start at the top level or you are up against it from the start. Possibly that there kit was not quick enough. Not for the want of trying as Bridger had 5 engines with him at Pboro. 3. Great Britain 34 1. Edward Kennett 0-1-1-1 = 3 - Has always struggled on big tracks. Remember seeing him at Ostrow in the World U21Final and he failed to dominate despite one decent heat. Last night was gating on par but just not quick enough. In heat one hit the front and then was taken by two riders. No doubting his effort but needs to get a Polish contract and learn to ride the big big tracks. D 2. Lewis Bridger 1-2-2-0-1 = 6 - In amongst it at all times and will take away with him that he defeated Gollob and Sullivan at Pboro. Needs to improve his gating but the boy has balls and has a good style for the bigger tracks. A season at Swindon or Pboro and more regular rides in Poland will bring him on big style. Needs to learn how to ride when the tracks get slicker and dial the bike in. He struggled at Poole in the British Final when the track went slick - When he had a chance to make the final got 2 x duck eggs. Last night struggled in his last two heats but a good effort from the Eagle. C 3. Chris Harris 2-0-6-1-2 = 11 - Excellent effort in the "joker" ride to take the 6 points but never looked as quick as the poles , Crump or Zagar. Despite being the top scorer was not the out and out dominant number 1 the Young Lions needed. As we know Bomber never lacks effort but seemed to ride far too wide in a couple of heats. C- 4. Tai Woffinden 1-1-1-1-1 = 5 - Seemed to struggle with set ups and did not look quick all evening. Was obviously disappointed and again gave it his all. But lacked top end speed. Has experience in Poland so should still be on plane to Poland. D 5. Daniel King 1-3-2-2-1-EF = 9 - Was like a "Little Loram" fantastic effort blasting around the outside of Gollob. Rode his heart out and 100% effort. During interview seemed tLooked a little slower in his tactical heat then bike went on the line. Deserves the Poland experience for his all out efforts. B Team for Lezno : Richardson Bridger King Woffinden / Nicholls Harris
  3. Think Lyons should be applauded for bringing in the Lion Cubs .... It is simply an win win situation, last years Team GB performance at Coventry was dire, on a home track they were pitiful !! Any likelyhood of beating both Australia and Poland at Peterborough is fairly remote so this gives Lyons the opportunity of giving the youngsters experience on the world stage with little chance of it blowing up in there face. Slovenia are virtually a one man team in Matej Zagar , therefore Team GB should be safe in securing a play-off place whatever the result. In Poland Richardson and possibly Nicholls can be brought in if so desired for experience. Whatever the situation any performance has to be an improvement on 2008. Last season everyone was moaning at the team and shouting for the young guard to be brought in , now Lyons has done so. Team GB are unlikely to win anything in the next 3/4 years so this gives the team an opportunity to gain a speedway education. If the SCB had any idea the team should be spending all weekend at the Peterborough getting dialled into conditions and the track.
  4. There was a strong rumour that Setanta may be pitching for Polish or Swedish speedway ... Has anyone heard anything on this ?!!?
  5. Nicholls was #9 in the scorecards in 2008 so fair enough , although many will suggest he has had a number of chances already to stake his claim. Harris had a poor season on the SGP season, to be honest he not pull up any trees in a deleted Elite League. I like bomber and his style of racing ,I just dont think his style of racing is suited to racing on Ole Olsen created racetracks. Form an orderly queue and dont get off the white line ..... Seen more dirt in a Christian Orthodox Nunnery. The power of the British SGP
  6. So they could not do exactly the same trick that they did in Ekilstuna a few years back was it ... ?!?!? Or why not hire heaters or lamps for the track to take the moisture out ..... either way farcical !!! Someone has to answer to this !!!!
  7. Farce !!!!!! Would this be due to SGP tickets sales ?!?!!?? Perhaps they not sell enough to make it the SGP Series extravaganza ?!!!!!!! Is Nicki Pedersen fit ?? The speedway Grand Prix not look good if Pedersen not able to ride in the finale of the SGP series. If the track not great why not sort the track out and run the meeting tomorrow. Especially as riders and more importantly fans are already there ?!!?!??! Seems that IMG have been very quick to organise a re-scheduled meeting at Bydgoszcz - did they know in advance ?!?!? Plus could the likes of Adams and Andersen sue IMG as a decent result for Gollob would elevate him to 3rd .... and on a home track surely that likely
  8. Only speedway could have an indoor meeting cancelled due to waterlogged track. Seems strange they dont work on track all night then race tomorrow as everybody will be there. Could nicki still be injured ? That would pee on the img fireworks. Strange to load the cards in gollobs favour . . Does smolenski get wild card or will saufutinov get a go on his home track . . Whatever situation is farce. Showpiece and finale made into a mockery
  9. IMO it is between Holder and Saufutdinov with Pavlic at short odds ..... Batchelor could be a consideration if he takes to the track. Woffinden will be top 6 and I hope Lewis goes well. But think like last year will depend on the Holder vs Saufutdinov heat to determine the champion
  10. The full line-up (in draw order) is: 1. Filip Sitera, 2. Grzegorz Zengota, 3. Emil Saifutdinov, 4. Troy Batchelor, 5. Patrick Hougard, 6. Lewis Bridger, 7. Adrian Gomolski, 8. Ludvig Lindgren, 9. Jurica Pavlic, 10. Matej Kus 11. Andriv Karpov, 12. Chris Holder, 13. Morten Risager, 14. Tai Woffinden, 15. Igor Kononov, 16. William Lawson. Reserves: Simon Gustafsson, Martin Vaculik. Does anyone know whether there will be any live internet links ?!?!?!?!!
  11. Big last two SGPs for Holta, Nicholls, Lindgren, Iversen and Harris now ......
  12. Walasek, Ulamek and Bjerre well that will have IMG happy because it should guarantee some more Polish sponsorship. Although I doubt it will sell anymore tickets !!!!!!!
  13. Bjerre has just won his last heat so is PUK out and with Bjarne Pedersen has squeaky bum time for the a Wild Card slot. With sullivan out , Holder could be up for a place as could the young Russian .........
  14. Think that guarantees Walasek a place as well If so Holta definately needs a top 8 finish .
  15. Ulamek is in !!!!!! So Holta will need a top 8 finish in the SGP to get in next year !!!!!
  16. Sullivan makes it three out of three !!!!! Best lock up the start girls
  17. Back up and running cheers fellas ..... Nothing against Sullivan rather see Holder in the SGP series. Would like Iversen to get through, can see him improving in SGPs with a decent run without injuries.
  18. Think my link has gone ** up !!!!! Cant get a picture ...no commentary nowt
  19. Racing is pretty processional ..... Richardson 1,1 so thats his chances gone for SGP slot.
  20. It was the Polish SGP in Bydgoszcz - Majority of the crowd was Polish so what is wrong with speaking to them initially ..... As for the SGP it was pretty dull for the most part - too slick. Apart from a few heats and when Gollob was it was pretty processional. Gollob was superb gave some excellent entertainment as only he knows how too ..... You may as well hand Nicki Pedersen the World Title now because nobody can get close to him,he is just to consistent. Both ruined their chances of victory as they tried to take care of each other on the first corner. nicholls did well to make the final and used his head well when finishing second in the semi final. Especially considering the way he started and then hit the speedway equivalent of the wall. I have no problems with Hancock giving it the "Monster" scenario and fair play to him for making the most of the final. No doubt IMG will curtail the monster sponsorship plugs unless they are looking to tap them as a major sponsor for next year :-))))))) Nothing would surprise me after they stopped stalls selling rider merchandise.
  21. A 'Monster' night for hancock. Generally thought the grand prix was dull apart from gollobs exploits. He was excellent value and he and pedersen ruined there chances in final by taking care of each other. Imo the dane has the title won. . . He is just too consistent at the moment. Consistently better than everyone else. Nicholls did extremely well to make the final and it looked like he had blown his chance after his great start but used his head in semi final and rode a sensible race to get into the final. Now for the challenge tomorrow.
  22. Would not surprise me that BSI have banned him from holding the drink .... Supposedly they dont allow riders to sell merchandise around the stadia anymore like that did at Wrocslaw , so people buy the SGP merchandise inside ...which we all know is tosh.
  23. If neither Harris or Nicholls make it they cant be given a Wild card on purely speedway terms at this stage. Bomber received a wild card last season - following a decent first season and a SGP win. Nicholls had a Wild Card the year before following an injury prevented him riding in a SGP or otherwise he would of qualified. Looking at riders that have chances of Wild Cards , I would of thought Bjerre must be up there following his SGP and SWC exploits. Should Lindgren miss out I guess he would be given a spot as AJ would then be the only Swede. That not give Nicholls or Harris a great chance.
  24. Have to see how the IMG / FIM deal the Wild Cards this year because certainly the Brits are running out of time to force their way into the top 8 !!!! Certainly dont deserve to be awarded a spot at this stage but I guess it all about Cardiff !!!! Nicholls and Harris - Cardiff apart have flattered to deceive ..... by rights they should not be rewarded with a Wild Card.
  25. Bridgend travelodge , You get a free rope to hang from the door there ........
