  1. At those odds - Woffinden / Sayfutdinov . Janowski to make top 3 ....
  2. Opportunity to now buy SpeedwayGB merchandise - bobble hats, pit t-shirts and polo shirts. Other merchandise to follow.
  3. "I can say now, for 100% that we will have the Grand Prix outside of Europe" - Armando Castagna, FIM Track Racing director. Discovery Communications with their Eurosport brand will take over the SGP series in 2022 as a ten year deal with FIM #speedway #SGP #SGP2022
  4. Nicol looks an excellent signing. Possibly one of the most sort after riders in CL on that average. Decent first signing. Should out 2pts on that average.
  5. Nicholls needs a club that doesn't ride Saturdays - Lives on South Coast. Morley won't be used by Eagles - but could be an option at Kent. Plus could Lawson be an option ??
  6. Can see Morris going to Eastbourne - Was excellent at #1 on the Northern tour and was given guest appearance for the Birmingham fixture...
  7. Now that Poole are likely to join the CL - I would think that the Pirates will have first option as it is his parent club and on his doorstep unless new manager / Dark Lord of Wimborne Road decide they want him in the team. Tom Brennan will be back I would imagine Eagles will announce after the AGM once team averages are announced.
  8. “The big thing with Speedway sometimes is having a bit of security.” Jason Edwards says feeling a sense of belonging at Eastbourne will help him develop at a quicker rate - and the Eagles plan to include him in their 2020 side. So it states in Speedway Star. So if correct that is one of the reserve slots covered.
  9. Eagles - As a return to "professional" speedway this season has been a success for Eastbourne. The crowds have been fairly stable in terms of numbers and the meetings have been sped up as the promotion has looked to complete a meeting in under 2 hrs. Despite the NL success for the Eagles the racing was never the most exciting apart from an odd heat 13-15 race , however the standard of racing and excitement has increased significantly in the CL. Arlington as a track is not the most exciting on the planet BUT it is the only speedway within 75 mins from my Surrey home - so long may it continue.
  10. Whose pit-board went for the largest amount on sat night ?!?
  11. Will all depend on the format of the league and the team averages. At Arlington this season the usual heat-leaders - Schlein, Ellis, Worrall etc have scored well - Broc Nicol was excellent but likely to be touted by most teams in PL + CL. Riders under the radar that could be options - Anders Rowe was excellent down at reserve for Somerset. Ellis Perks' has previous at Arlington and was certainly a far better rider than he was at the NL and can gate could be a snip on his average. Other options could be Ricky Wells who has a history of riding small tracks well after all those years at Monmore and Josh Pickering did a decent job on a couple of occasions.
  12. If there is no major change to league set up - one league ... think Eagles will stick to their word.
  13. As a number of teams have 2020 topics already - seems to be a good time to consider the Eagles options for next season. Already announcing after the final meeting on Saturday that Lewis Kerr and Kyle Newman will remain with Arlington side subject to agreement with their parent clubs, and confirmation of the overall league structure of the sport next year. Certainly those two riders would of been the first two names on my team sheet. Kerr has been excellent this season and is certainly a fans favourite. Newman has been excellent and has offered stability to the side and got better as the season has gone on. It is probably just a matter of time before Tommy Brennan is announced ; now that he is back on the bike. Depending on the average limit It would be a surprise if they didn't go for Edwards having offered him a couple of months to gain experience at Championship level.
  14. Prefer racesuits think they look more professional and with Connor Dugard and JCProracewear its a win win.
  15. Good to hear Lewi Kerr and Newman will return. Kerr has been excellent all season and scored solidly all season. Certainly a fans favourite. Newman has offered stability to the team and scored steadily and improved meeting by meeting. This season the Eagles got the make up of the team wrong with 3 reserves and a too top heavy. This is a decent start for 2020 with no doubt Tom Brennan to follow.
  16. If anyone is attending the "Press Conference" tonight please advise.....
  17. Prague is a great city but the track and racing are as dull as dishwater.
  18. Even as an Eagles fan - If Lawson had to choose I am sure he would choose a play-off rather than a dead rubber. However why the fixture is put on a Sat when neither team rides on that night of the week ; seems very strange. Guess BT makes the decisions and if their is any glimmer of a tv deal to continue - SCB are going to bend over ....
  19. Most hotels you cant book that far in advance those you can EXTORTIONATE
  20. I was at Cardiff and the racing was a procession - last couple of years has been ok but tonight was poor. Yes Cardiff if about the occasion but I am sure they say the same at Warsaw ... and Torun
  21. At start of season Wood changed set-ups and struggled Cook was claiming early on that Wood had excellent sponsors and backing and needed to perform .... he did so at Arlington but failed away ... it was definately stated he had called Eagles and retired
  22. Woffinden Doyle Hancock - 1. If he doesn't retire this weekend. Laguta / Dudek / Zagar - depending on who drops out of the top 8 ....
  23. .Be surprised if it is Ian Jordan that moves on , he has been central to the commercial development of the club over recent years. Sponsoring riders Tom Brennan, Jason Edwards to now being a director and driving a lot of the organisation forward. On track - Dependent on BSPA deciding on one league or two. Think on track main change will be the balance of the team heat leader heavy and effectively 3 reserves didn't work. Tom Brennan will be back even though attached to a false average from his time at reserve. Be surprising if Eagles don't persist with Jason Edwards with a couple of months experience in CL. Lewi Kerr has stated his preference of returning for another season and is a fans favourite. Lawson has done an excellent job for majority of the season. An excellent rider at this level. Part of Jon Cook's Hammers quartet that was brought in so be interesting if he returns. Newman has done a solid job at second string + steadily improved at Arlington. Has an average that doesnt get considered in first team draft but if fits Eagles 2020 I would look to bring him back. Woods was announced over speakers he had retired from speedway. Excellent at Arlington woeful away. #Eastbournitis Bowtell flattered to deceive but was handed 2nd string spot to start which was unfair + struggled for confidence. At reserve was better but if the Eagles go for Edwards at reserve unlikely to return. Kennett never going to live up to starting average - was solid until hampered with arm injury. Surgery over winter taking plates out be interesting to see whether he wants to continue or return.
  24. Clean-Cut Sports have been looking to do this for years but understand that the BSPA were not to keen. Away support is non existent in the sport for the most part so I doubt that this would effect attendance figures too greatly. If clubs did monthly subscriptions - featuring interviews , features and meetings can only see it being neneficial to the sport. Would be interesting to see how UK Ice Hockey attendances are - as a number of matches are streamed.
