Sheffield vs Ipswich 2024 Cup Final Sept 2nd
Hackett replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Can't see the Tigers losing that lead at Foxhall. As much as Brennan + Lidsey tried they are never going to score what Emil + Doyley would. Ellis just back from injury it was always going to be a tough ask Holder Full Maximum 18 and Pickering 17+1 Paid maximum says it all. Throw in Chris Holder 10 points and 45+2 between 3 riders. -

A verbal commitment with a club that can't guarantee it will be running. -
Wroclaw GP Saturday 31st August
Hackett replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Decent enough meeting tonight. Vaculik deserved the win. Another decent effort from Lambert who unfortunately missed his chance with the roll in the Final but another podium. Zmarzlik unlucky in the semi final but missing the Final saves the FIM having to ban him for a Kevlar infringement π²π in order to keep it close. Lindgren made some brave moves in the dirt on the outside. Onto Riga next which may suit Lebedevs. Hopefully some E/W value on him next week. -
Could see Ipswich being tempted with Brennan. He has announced that he has signed for remainder of 2024 season. Could be a live audition for '25 if Emil + Doyley return could come in for King possibly.

Petty decent night betting on the SGP On Bet365 riders points Huckenbeck 3+ Lebedevs 6+ Dudek +7 Janowski +7 Madsen under 10 Then Dudek vs Kubera and had Vaculik vs Lindgren Missed out on Holder and Kvech points return. Didn't back a rider to win too many tabs open trying to get Oasis tickets.,

Ipswich Witches 2024 serious team predictions

Good for Tommy Brennan to get a couple more rides this season. I imagine that this is an audition for a team spot for the Witches in 2025. -

Might have a little e/w option on Dudek and possibly Madsen who did ok in he league meeting. -
With current placings in the SGP will Holder and Lambert bother with the SGP Challenge ??? Hope Lebedev's qualifies as he has been good entertainment in the SGP series and is unlikely to get a Wild Card spot as on Monster will have only 4 picks. π²π

Oxford vs Leicester 29/08/2024 PL R2
Hackett replied to IainB's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Can see the the Lions nicking this if any of the Oxford team are off the pace. With Masters, Fricke, Lawson and Douglas , if the Lions can get Cook or Hagon making a decent contribution at reserve could be a close meeting. LAst heat decider anybody ?? -
Kings Lynn v Sheffield 29/8/24
Hackett replied to Manifesto's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Tigers will need Pickering to continue his fine form and the Holder brothers to both get in the points. Edwards has been improving this season but Anders Rowe has got better as the season has gone on. Think the Tigers can keep it relatively close but Stars win at home. -
Belle Vue V Sheffield - Mon 26th @ noon
Hackett replied to GeneralMelchett's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good to hear a decent crowd for todays meeting. -
Sounds as though the speedway team will be going to the dogs in "25. Greyhounds dont't know if they will be running and Speedway will only run if greyhounds do. Doesn't sound promising. Can the Brummies beat the Ipswich Tru7 Guest Witches tonight ??

Sheffield v Ipswich 8th August
Hackett replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good to hear that Emil has come out of the crash without serious injury. Although will definitively be uncomfortable for a couple of weeks. Get well soon Emil. Guess Ipswich can follow the Kings Lynn protocol and cancel fixtures due to lack of riders now. -

Great effort by Team GB - Bewley and Lambert were excellent and got better as the meeting went on and brought the trophy home !! Decent racing and good to see Latvia and Germany competitive in the Final. Was expecting more from Denmark but they just couldn't get the team right on the night. Crowd was as expected - no need for the temporary stand could of saved the cost of that over the week and as for food and drink - it is always a tedious with a larger capacity - like SoN or British Final etc ... Let's see if that meeting will be enough to convince WSD to offer a SGP. -

Agreed - Kurtz will know the track and you would expect be able to adapt to the conditions on his home-track quicker than most. Should be a decent meeting I think this is wide open. -

Birmingham v Oxford Mon 8th July PL
Hackett replied to Brummies_Ste's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Even running out of excuses no as Ermolenko said the elements were against his side throughout. The Brummies were always going to struggle this season. The team lacked any heat-leaders of note and needed the Polish riders to step up big time; both have been below par and despite Brennan being competitive the lack of a #1 and any support they were always going to be up against it from the off. Even bringing Freddie Lindgren in has not improved matters as all the riders are continuing to struggle for any consistency. -

Last time at the SoN in Manchester the standing areas had additional catering behind the stand. The Grandstand always struggles to cope - British Final a couple of years back it ran out of food and beer. -

Can't see Wed semi final being as well supported as this evening. No Poland support and England in the Euro's. This has always been the issue in the SoN. -
Wishing Tate Ziscke a speedy recovery sounds like a nasty crash from all the reports.

Gorzow GP Saturday 29th June
Hackett replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Absolutely shocking - sounds a serious break. Bad enough when you knock your elbow let alone break it in four places. Good to see that Wroclaw helped get him an expert to do the operation. As in Tai's statement cant move or lift his elbow for foreseeable future. Wish him a speedy recovery. -

Not enough has been said about how rubbishe the track was. Yes it was a blistering day but for a track to be that overwatered in Ht1 and a race-line 2cms from the air fence after one heat needs to be questioned. Vaculik in the Instagram Live said the track is very different from an Ekstraliga meeting and no advantage being a "home rider". Hancock even with his Monster/FIM love in said that the track is better in Ekstraliga and reading between the lines even in his conservative state was critical of the track. Can imagine that the SoN at Manchester will be slicker than a strippers bikini line. -
Woffinden has been excellent value in the British League but that soil sample looks as though that is his season done. Blame the track prep over watering and making it a one racing line 2cms from the airfence. Vaculik was saying that the track prep is very different for Ekstraliga but they have no say in the SGP meets and it is no advantage being a home rider. Even Hancock wearing his SGP Monster hat reading between the lines said the track was very different from a Ekstraliga meeting. Playoff Bob has to be the answer for Sheffield with Steady using his Team GB persuasion.

Birmingham vs Kingβs Lynn - June 24th 2024
Hackett replied to SuperStarsFan91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Saw the Tolley interview on social media. Why would you put new shale down on the track the day before a meeting against your Wooden Spoon rivals and the hottest day of the year. Unfortunately the results for Birmingham are no surprise , they are a team of 2nd strings and one heat leader. When your reserves outscore the oppo reserves 15 - 5 and you have a full team you shouldn't be getting beat. Admittedly the Stars picked well in their choice of guests but the Brummies were on for a hiding to nothing all season.
