In another era it would be. Sadly British speedway just won't adapt to modern times.

Woffinden, Zmarzlik and Pawlicki Jnr. It's all sorted.

2015 Speedway Gp Challange
BWitcher replied to OveFundinFan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
So you prefer to consider folk who make no effort to qualify... interesting. Guess that puts me ahead of Lindback and Kildemand in the pecking order of your selection process! -
It could happen very easily
-
No chance, not with Indianerna having 1 and 3 in heat 11, had a 5-1 written all over it... and indeed was.
-
Shame it's a bit of a gaters paradise... Some close racing though. Edited to add: Heat 7 more like it! But I'll stick with it being a gaters paradise... and hope my words continue to haunt me

Musielak is a strange one. Early season he seemed to be picking up the track quite quickly, had a great battle with Harris in one meeting, passing and repassing. You would have expected he would develop from there, but 2nd half of season he seems to have totally lost confidence at home.. yet can go to Belle Vue and score well!

Belle Vue, Kings Lynn Or Swindon For 3rd/4th Spot

They can use Lindgren -
Agreed, but that's not always the case. Lindback is by far the obvious choice, his performances in the SEC would back that up. Watched it, and it was nothing special.. Good ride but made very easy by the inept Zengota suddenly changing his line on the last lap. Had he stayed wide, Laguta had no chance of winning the race.. instead he moved over, giving a free run round the outside. Pawlicki wouldn't even have been aware it was Laguta coming as he expected Zengota to be on the outside of him, hence entering the corners a little slower each time. That of course meant Laguta could come across him into turn 3.

For sure, not knocking Mort or PC at all, I didn't see them anywhere near as regularly as you would have done but I have no doubt they would have been good team riders in both senses. Thinking about it, I've only ever seen PC on video, unless I saw him when I was very little I never saw him live. Mort I saw quite a bit off, but mainly in the latter stages of his career on a track he wasn't as adept at following the move to Kirky Lane (was a regular at Kirky Lane in the first 3 or 4 seasons there).
-
Why are people so hung up on 'had chances before'. If there is to be a Swedish wildcard, it should go to the best Swedish rider.. whether they've been in the series before or not shouldn't matter.
-
There's two different types of 'team riding'. Some say combinations such as Morton/Collins.. Hancock/Hamill.. Ermolenko/Correy etc.. Grahame/Collins... It is in a way, but that is mainly two very good riders riding fast together. A great team rider is someone who can control a race to get his much slower partner home for the win. As SCB says, the best in recent times is/was Darcy Ward. The best I have ever seen, by far is Sam Ermolenko. He would tell his partner where to go on the 1st corner, then move the opposition to create the gap.. then tuck in behind and thwart all attempts to pass, especially at Monmore.

It's not my word, that is the point. It has been pointed out to you, Laguta is currently 19th in the Polish averages so is hardly pulling up any trees. You like to put a lot of stock into the SEC.. yet you deride Lindback who is well ahead of Laguta in said competition. The FACTS are Laguta is a complete non-entity when it comes to the World Championship. If you don't enter, you're irrelevant. That is the reality. Lastly, if your verdict is that Lindback should not get a wildcard because he was eliminated last night then the position should surely go to Freddie Lindgren then who was next in line?
-
The post above yours explains he is 17th in Sweden, 19th in Poland. It doesn't matter if your friend is Polish or how many meetings you've watched on a 'stream'.. That's the reality. You weren't saying top 16, you were saying top 10 easily. As for the SEC you put so much faith in, that disproves your point too as he is well behind Lindback in that.

I love it.. Forget Sweden and Poiand. Only you could come out with such a statement!

Of course, but as long as folk continue to support One Sport, this will continue to happen. So the question is, do you want a body forcing their will onto riders to be in charge of the sports World Championships? There was outrage from some when it was suggested BSI were trying to block riders riding in the SEC, but nobody bats an eyelid that OneSport are preventing Emil from riding in the GP's. -

At least they tried. Emil and Laguta didn't so shouldn't even be considered. -

To be fair, although I said he has no balls, I honestly think he has zero choice in the matter. Many Russian sportsmen are controlled by 'other sources'. He is told what to do whether he likes it or not. He is a pawn in One Sports battle to undermine the GP series so they can gain control. If and once they do, you can guarantee that Emil will suddenly not have an issue with the 'number of rounds'. -

Correct, he hasn't got the balls to ride to be World Champion, so he's irrelevant in that context. Oh how the Mafioso One Sport want folk to think like that. -

Kildemand scored 10.. hardly failing 'big time'. Again, remind me how Emil and Laguta got on in the qualifying? I will tell you, they did as well as either you or me. -

According to Emil's bosses.. Harris has balls, ambition. Emil doesn't. -

What the hell are you on about 'more important than ever to have a new infrastructure for qualifying'. He's just bloody qualified by going through the same procedure as everyone else! -
It might click with people eventually. Emil does as he is told. No more, no less.
