  1. That makes no sense, otherwise there would never be any team riding, never any defensive riding and rarely overtaking. The best riders are capable of racing their race and seeing that their opponents are doing at the same time.
  2. 'Once he got his head round them'. You'd expect after 15+ years of riding them he'd figure something out...
  3. Interesting data, but of course very flawed as under a completely different format (13 heats). It would be interesting to see a comparison with the 15 heat formula as that's when the 'top heavy' sides were able to take the biggest advantage. Also as waiheke says, the strength of the teams would play a big part... plus the number.. there were 19 teams in the league in 1978.
  4. Yep, I watched it a couple of times to see if that might have been the issue, but really don't think it was. Has to be something else to it.
  5. Therein lies the key. Let us also not forget that for years the GP's had at least 2, often 3 rounds in Poland and even with this advantage he only won one world title.
  6. I can see somebody is a Woffy hater. One incident of which we don't know the ins and outs of.
  7. Yep, as Waiheke says, what caused Tai to do that, something had clearly happened or been said by KK to fire Tai up like that.
  8. If he hasn't moved before the tapes start going up there is no issue. What the other riders do or don't do is irrelevant.. the whole idea of making a good start is to gain an advantage over your opponents! As long as you do so by moving AFTER the tapes start going up, which you say he did, then nothing is wrong.
  9. That was my one and only visit to Hyde Road. It was a double header, Wolves in the league match 1st, then Oxford in the League Cup (semi I think, but could be wrong). I was 12 at the time and Lars was, along with Sam, my favourite Wolves rider so I'd been banging on to my Dad how brilliant he was going to do once I found out we were going. He of course was laughing it off as Lars was just an average reserve.. but he rode a stormer, 10pts from 4 rides, Sam made a brilliant pass on the last lap to secure the win. Aces saw off Hans Nielsen and the Cheetahs in the 2nd meet though.
  10. I don't get the issue.. so instead they use RR from the beginning which is better for them?? The rule is one of speedways better ones in my opinion.
  11. Why wasn't Adam Ellis warned is a question I would ask also. He jumped starts, twice, then delayed the start a 3rd time before finally being warned.
  12. Except this isn't opinion, it's a matter of record, for all to see. He didn't move and the referee made a mistake.
  13. Correct.. Or if you make a mistake and decide sargeant has jumped the start then it's an unsatisfactory start at that point so Garrity can't be excluded. Either way the referee completely screwed it up.
  14. And? People can disagree and still be perfectly civil and friendly to each other.
  15. Your post was a trolling one, nothing more. Everyone else on the thread agrees, Sargent didn't move. Video evidence shows he didn't move.
  16. And the dumb commentators haven't even thought of that!
  17. Grow up. Firstly he hasn't moved. Secondly,if he has then it's an unsatisfactory start so Garrity can't be excluded.
  18. That's what I thought. Pathetic refereeing all round.
  19. Except he didn't. Why was Adam Ellis not excluded the second time he jumped the start? You should be warned the first time surely.
  20. Why typical belle bue? If it pours down before the start nothing you can do!
