It wouldn't take preference at any stage, its not an official international event, plus I am sure Ward has signed a contract.

Spot on, I think most were thinking you were referring to the section of society who simply can't be bothered to work.

Grand Prix Or One Off World Final ?
BWitcher replied to a topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Hmm, agree with parts of this. Definately the Grand Prix, although the one-off World Final had a special atmoshphere. However, I don't agree with the riders 'going out on full gas, no holds barred' part. The problem with World Finals was that once 2 or 3 rides were done, most of the field were out of contention and weren't particularly interested. -
We do agree sometimes
-
Who? Everyone has access to opportunities if they can be bothered to do so. One of THE biggest problems with current society is this notion that things should just be handed out on a plate.
-
It is not up to Poole. Ward has signed a contract. A contract to race for Poole in the Elite League. He has committed to those fixtures. Fixtures in the UK have been arranged where possible around the Official International Speedway calendar. OneSport, in their usual unprofessional way feel they don't have to adhere to normal protocol and arrange meetings after the required date for International meetings. If the BSPA set a precedent and allow riders to swan off to open meetings and ignore the contract they have signed in the EL then it gives open licence to OneSport to arrange more of these meetings whenever they wish (not that they need encouragement) and EL/PL riders to forsake their UK commitments at the drop of a hat. Ward has a choice, as did Holder. If he doesn't wish to race in the UK, nobody is forcing him too. However, he, nor OneSport should be dictating his availability for matches. This is no attack on Darcy Ward, simply he is the example being used. As for British speedway and Australian riders in general.. I wonder how many Australians would have success on the World Stage without the British Leagues.
-
No, this post makes you look like what you are, someone with a vendetta who posts utter drivel over and over. Remind me which country those Australian riders ply their trade in? Remind me which country they rely on to make a career out of the sport? Australia did the honor as they receive reciprocal benefits of their riders riding in the British Leagues. Whereas the reciprocal benefit that OneSport would offer is taking away more dates and more riders from the British Leagues.

Woofy Still Getting Good Media Coverage
BWitcher replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
So you're a bigot is what you are trying to tell us? And that because there are other bigots you think that its fine. I would actually suggest that Tai is the ultimate role model in terms of appearance. Be yourself, don't conform to what some bigoted people expect you to look like.It It's fine to not like the look of someone, Tai's look isn't for me and I wouldn't be interested in tattoos or the ear things he wears (unsure of the correct name). However as a role model I think he is absolutely fantastic. -
That won't effect Pandorums inane ramblings.

Woofy Still Getting Good Media Coverage

You're clearly well out of touch with modern society. What kind of employment do you think he wouldn't be able to attract? Bearing in mind that he isn't even going to be looking for work as a lawyer, or an accountant etc as that isn't his background or skill set. As I suspected, you haven't been able to provide an answer to the question you were asked. -
These events have been arranged on dates of existing EL matches AFTER the date for international fixtures to be arragned. Allow a couple of riders to race in the meaningless open meetings and our own domestic league will be missing even more riders from matches than they are now.... something which is the bane of contention for many fans. So the BSPA take action to ensure that problem doesn't get worse and someone like you still moans.
-
As others have said, its an official FIM Competition to decide the champion of the World.
-
It's because it's an unofficial event, added in after the official fixtures have been produced. You're right though, Britain hasn't got anyone competitive. Our best rider is so far behind the rest of the worlds riders isn't he.

Speedway Livestream 6 Days A Week
BWitcher replied to SpeedwayTShirts's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I believe that the feeds are only available in the UK.. or if you have a UK IP address. I don't know this for sure as am not at home in Portugal at the moment, but someone abroad told me this earlier. -
Those words are not 'Ermolenko dictionary'. Its standard American speech. Watch a Nascar race and the drivers refer to the straightaways. Maybe because they think there isn't an appetite for it? The meeting evidenced that.. despite massive promotion, 5 Torun riders on show the stadium was less than half full. It would be full for a SWC meeting or a GP.
-
Exactly my thoughts, seen a couple of comments saying how well Smolinski did.. it just showed going to be a long hard season for him. Inside line, it seems all he can ride. It will be a big step up for him,
-
Compete in what? It's not any form of official event, basically an invitational open meeting. I was referring to the start line girls. It's their job to look nice and something they take seriously. It's their career. The PC mob would prefer they were deprived of this career.
-
To be fair they did say last place was the deathtrap. Ermolenko wasn't too bad considering, he kept correcting old Jack on the scores. Jack never could get the Russians score right.
-
He should be riding in every Poole match bar a clash with an OFFICIAL fixture. The Best Pairs Challenge is not an official fixture, if he skips a Poole meeting for it he should be banned.
-
No, SWC is not the same thing. It seems you really do struggle with a very very basic concept. The SWC is the World Championship for teams. It has a history. It is Official. The 'Best Pairs' is not a World Championship. It is NOT official. It is just another fixture. It has nothing to do with 'us Brits'. Anyone with half a brain cell knows the difference, there is only you peddling this event as something it is not. From the crowd tonight its apparent the Poles haven't bought into it being official either. Do you think Torun would be half empty for a SWC event featuring Poland? If we adopted your ridiculous line of thinking the recently postponed Elite Riders Championships could be billed as a World Championship.
-
Sigh, because it's basically a challenge meeting. I get the impression Eurosport actually think it has meaning too with constant references to previous World Pairs results. The Polish fans weren't as easily duped as some thought they would be though.
-
Or it meaning bugger all... It was enjoyable in the sense its nice to see speedway on TV.. overall the racing was average at best, if it was a GP it would be being panned.
-
Oooh Jack nearly.. nearly.. came out with a classic then.. "Girls, you should never trust guys with champagne.."... now if only he'd said a bottle.
-
Yawn. What were his 'sexist' comments then? That they looked nice? You might not be aware, that's their job.
-
It will be interesting to see what sort of crowd the 2nd and 3rd legs of this Invitational Pairs Challenge if despite all the hype and build up it could only half fill Torun. It's the OneSport spin.
