  1. Jacques has said what a number of previous of posters have said, in fact she has put it stronger than some in stating that Ward "needs a major attitude adjustment". Yet now, here you are thinking it's a great post, yet others who have also said his attitude/persona etc may let him down have been subject to statements such as "Total Crap" However, we have got to the bottom of it after all, you're in agreement, Ward does need a major attitude adjustment. It's a shame we had to go through this whole process, you could simply have agreed in the first place
  2. Now does anyone know if this is sarchastic? Does Sidney himself know? Jacques has mentioned Ward needs an attitude adjustment, which is normally enough to set Sidders of on one, but she appears to have escaped his wrath... unless its a sarchastic post.
  3. Its the 'persona' that is up for debate Gustix, you say he has the much needed persona, there are many who are questioning if at this point he has. There is no doubt about his riding qualities, apart from being hyper critical some improvement is his gating (which he is working on).
  4. It's quite clear that there are a lot of people, despite some trying to claim otherwise or insisting that they are wrong to do so, who simply do not like Ward. Whilst everyone admits he is an ultra talented speedway rider, they simply don't like him, his past actions being the main cause of that. However, this time last year there were a lot of people who had no time for Woffinden either. Some still don't but many have been won over, quite simply due to Woffinden's change in attitude. Although it will be harder for Ward, due to his past misdemeanours, he too, with the right attitude would be able to win over a fair portion of those who currently dislike him. Not that it particularly bothers him I'm sure, but it sure seems to bother a few on here!
  5. I'm not saying he is or he isn't. Simply that if he isn't he is making things a whole lot harder for himself. Agreed it is going to be a fantastic series, let's just hope that politics don't ruin it.
  6. If he phrased it correctly he may have a point. Just being 'fit' may not prove to be enough for Darcy. In terms of natural talent and ability on a bike then I would agree, Darcy may well be a step up from Tai. However, that doesn't mean that if both are fit Darcy is superior simply because Tai has taken things to a whole new level in terms of 'off the bike' preparation. If Darcy were to dedicate himself to the same level as Tai, it is very likely he would emerge on top. However, by not doing so, he is greatly reducing his chances. His natural talent may still be enough for him, but he will be making things a lot harder for himself.
  7. A fit Ward wasn't a step up from an unfit Tai last year, not in the EL, not in Poland either.
  8. The long features are the best part of the magazine. They are about speedway too, so not too sure how they can be classed as 'marginal interest'.
  9. Given how speedway is run, any corruption from betting might actually be cleaning it up!
  10. I think this tops even Sidneys best efforts. Little did we all know that the ultimate barometer of morality and decent behaviour was being 'captain of Poole'.
  11. yeah as orion says who are you aceold to decide, you are no angel I bet, when did you last see darcy ride, you don't even go, do you know him, he's great, I've seen him, ashby great rider, lee what a talent, is darcy the same, yes I think so, what about you aceold, I don't care what you say, what do you think, have you made a mistake like lee, great talent, forgive him, hampel no chance, you know nothing aceold.
  12. I'm not sitting here judging anyone. I have no issues with Ward, something which passes you by in your non-sensical rants. You keep accusing me and others of making mistakes, we are pointing out that the vast majority of us have not made the same mistakes as Ward has, that is it. It is the right of those who dislike him based upon his past. It is up to Ward to turn those opinions around by bucking up his ideas, concentrating on his talent and winning speedway races. Which he can do.
  13. No, what is pathetic is inserting vodka bottles into drunk young girls and fleeing the police on a motorcycle whilst under the influence. Let me know how many other 'human beings' you know who have done that, if you find many, then you can call the comment pathetic.
  14. Yes some people. If there weren't people wouldn't speak negatively on here of him would they. Stop whittering on about mistakes etc and trying to pass them off as something we all do. We don't. Period. Simply concentrate on his riding, which is where the praise is due. No need to make excuses for past indiscretions.
  15. That is why I said IF Ward takes the same professional approach as Woffinden took he has a damn good shot at it. Most folk haven't made the SAME mistakes as Ward has made, that isn't a pathetic statement at all, simply reality and the reason why some people have taken a dislike to him. The longer he lets his riding do the talking the more of those folk will be won over.
  16. There is no doubting his ability Sidney. it doesn't mean people have to like him. No, most people haven't made the 'mistakes' he has made either I would suggest. IF he emulates Tai and becomes super professional in his approach to racing (not just relying on natural ability) then he can go on to win multiple titles I believe. That's an IF though.
  17. The problem is Sidney, by your very own rules, you aren't qualified to comment. How many times have you been to a GP with Ward in it?
  18. The answer to the question is quite simply, of course he can. Then again, so can all the other riders starting out in the GP. I can't wait for the series to get under way again and can only hope the issues with the SEC are resolved so Emil can take his place. Will Tai maintain the form of last year? Will Holder be fit enough to get back to where he was? Can NKI take the next step? Have Nicki P and Hancock got another 'big' season in them? Will Ward put his undoubted talent to use, stay fit and challenge? Can Hampel cut out the horror GP's he throws in that harm his hopes? So many of them have a shot, it's going to be great.
  19. Spot on SCB. That is precisely why I love the play-offs. You get those exact feelings and it simply can't be beaten..
  20. So you keep telling us and many of us have stated similar things in the past. However, you have still failed to present one single idea. Let's hear them.
  21. Yep that's true. I do agree though, a full stadium with a noisy crowd, the racing doesn't even need to be special, it will still catch the casual viewers attention.
  22. Another factually incorrect post in your tireless vendetta. As you are so concerned on most threads with the Speedway Star and their lack of investigative journalism, I propose that they adhere to your wishes and investigate who you are and get to the bottom of this chip you are carrying around on your shoulder.
  23. He's 100 with a triangle. The American is 100 with an Octagon as he likes UFC. Shapes are all important.
  24. There are a great number of us who aren't happy with British speedway. I have been very vocal in the past about this. However, most of us have also, when voicing our complaints have presented ideas, alternatives, solutions etc. All you seem to do is whinge and whinge and blame most things on the Speedway Star. How about coming up with something constructive? You've told us that the 'top riders' (given one name, Chris Holder) are saying too many meetings are ruining British speedway. Yet the fans themselves are saying a lack of fixtures in recent seasons has been the cause for further decline. Let me ask you this, was Chris Holder bleating about too many meetings when he first arrived from Australia, or was he anxious to get as many meetings under his belt as possible?
