  1. I'm waiting for words of wisdom along the lines of "If the scoring system had been 4,3,2,0 we'd have approached the final differently"
  2. Correct. So now take your line of thinking to 'pair' or 'team'. Therefore, by your own argument, the winner of the race is the 'pair' or 'team' that finishes first. That was Russia.
  3. So what exactly did he mean then, notice he hasn't exactly come forward to set the record straight. Was he down on power? Yes. Did he ride on one of Hanocks bikes? No. A bit of 'twisting' wouldn't get to the comments he was quoted as saying. It would be downright lies.
  4. Course he did, once he realised telling the truth is often not the best move.
  5. That's because on this topic, we do. That is indisputable.
  6. lmao. Bless. It doesn't matter what experience you have in speedway, your posts demonstrate 100%, you haven't got a clue.
  7. Your posts get worse and worse on this subject. But lets's engage in your fantasy world for a moment and assume that Tai did initially try and quickly gave up. Explain to me how it was in any way a good 'tactic' for Tai to chase the win. The win was irrelevant. By chasing it, Tai risked a greater chance of being excluded or falling which would have rendered any miraculous overtake of Sayfutdinov by Lambert irrelevant. Can you imagine the furore if Lambert had of got by Emil in the latter stages only for Tai to fall or be excluded in his chase of Laguta?
  8. Course you do, because you clearly haven't got a scoobies. In actual fact, Tai going for win was utterly and completely the wrong thing to do for more reasons than team riding. Tai winning the race was irrelevant as we have seen.. We have some trying to claim it's impossible or dangerous to slow and help a team mate, even though Tai had already done it in the event and its been done countless times in the past... so we'll eliminate that option for the sake of this argument.. As such we have Tai in a safe 2nd place.. and we need Lambert to pass Emil... So please tell me how it benefited us in the slightest Tai taking risks to go for the win? Just imagine had he come together with Laguta, been excluded, fell off in a brave attempt to pass just as Lambert happened to get by Emil.. or Emil suffered an ef. What a calamity that would have been! So in summary... Tai going for the win was never ever the 'right' tactic. If you're not going to team ride, you take the safe 2nd place and hope Lambert gets into 3rd.
  9. lmao! Oh heaven forbid it would have been a 2-4.. what a disaster that would have been, we'd have only got silver medal... oh wait. Staggering the level of intellect displayed on this forum at times!
  10. You agree regarding Sam though right? In his heyday, someone like Manzares would have been on one of his machines if struggling. Remember when Stephen Morris has no engines left, one of, if not his final meeting for Wolves before retiring. Rode on one of Sams and rattled up about 17pts?
  11. If you're referring to GB, all was well with those that mattered
  12. But Greg is Mr Nice Guy? Back in Sudden Sam's heyday Gino would have been riding a Blomfeldt tuned rocket ship before you knew it and Sam sitting behind him and nursing him home
  13. As is moving someone over, diving up the inside, making a blast around the outside. I once saw a rider crash and break his leg because he was trying to pass someone. Next time folks complain about a dull meeting, I'll mention it. Manzares was simply out of his depth and made a mistake. As for 'thinking of Poland'. Yes of course they were.. Tai thought "I'm in Poland tomorrow, I'll just take a safe second". No he went hell for leather after winning the race. Lambert and Sayfutdinov nearly collided and had zero thought of Poland the next day either. Still good to see folks getting creative to try and avoid simply saying, Great performance GB, messed up the tactics in the final,we'll learn next time. Was it on this thread or another where Krompa, or perhaps another Polish poster, posted the video of Tomasz Gollob, slowing Tommy Knudsen (no mug) down and eventually getting his partner through?
  14. Yes, he's a whinger. Any views on Tai doing it multiple times in the qualifying races? Didn't hear the outcry about it being dangerous?
  15. How many times was it absolutely essential to do so?
  16. You can't explain, that's the whole point. Every explanation attempted only strengthens the argument against.
  17. Still waiting for an explanation of why it makes perfect sense to NOT try to win a gold medal. You advocate it. Phillip Rising advocates it. Seems Team GB advocated it. Champions League Final.. Liverpool trail Milan 3-0.. co managers Phil Rising and Sommelier.. "Shut up shop lads, let's not concede anymore. Silver is great! We can't take risks and chase the game at this level, not in a final, the standard is far too high" Superbowl 51.. New England trail Atlanta by 25pts.. head coach Phil Rising... you get the idea. Now apply it to Speedway of Nations Pairs Final.. Sayfutidnov gets into 3rd on bend 2.. less then 15% into the race and you're advocating throwing in the white towel.
  18. How is it fair? It's nonsensical, or did I miss a new set of riders being shipped in for the final that were of a much higher standard than the others? Actually, in consideration his comments do make perfect sense.. it's the conclusion that is nonsensical. Basically it's being said the final is of a higher standard, riders going for it to a greater degree so therefore it's much more difficult to beat the opposition.... conclusion, we'll leave Lambert on his own, sure he needed a bit of help when the standard was lower, but now it's higher he'll be fine as he is! Sorry.. but the argument Tai puts forward once again leads to one conclusion.. the wrong tactics were used.
  19. Agree with much of that, although I think they may still alternate on a yearly basis, SWC and SON that is. The finals aren't going anywhere, but one simple change should be, the team trailing should need a heat advantage to win. i.e. a 3-3 sees the team who qualified direct for the final winning.
  20. Must take the prize of most nonsensical post of the year, perhaps since the forum began.
  21. I dare to attack anyone who has any criticism of him or dare to suggest he may have made a mistake? I think you've been reading the wrong thread!
  22. Ah well Sidney was right. Auty showed Howarth he is the better rider when it really matters... Oh wait...
  23. Perhaps others can watch a meeting and also post? Plenty of gaps between races....
