No, I would say there are about 15 who can win a round at anytime. The GP's are as close to the best riders in the world as they ever have been. As for the other points..Averages, they've only been messed around due to the changing formats of the league. Otherwise the 28 match (or however many it is) rolling averages is FAR better than the old system which was easily manipulated. The biggest recent issue is doubling up, it's way out of control. It either needs radically reduced or EL and PL race on separate nights so there is never a clash. Unfortunately the boat has long sailed on speedway in this country. Every year they reduce the strength of the top flight and admission stays the same or rises, every year crowds drop further and still folk don't see the pattern. It's been going on for nigh on 15 years now.

The Poole website says Shanes suffered a hand injury following mechanical failure in Heat 2. I would suggest they are not biased towards Greaves. And again, the Poole website reports what actually happened.

Did anybody actually see the replay of the Shanes/Graves incident in the bar afterwards? As said the WM reporter (not the commentator) felt it was the right call from the angle he was stood at. He's not normally biased in any way either.

He was weird at Monmore, he actually started quite well. There was a televised meet early on in the season where he was passing and repassing with Chris Harris. He took a knock at one point I remember and when returning he seemed to lose his way and was constantly spinning off into turn 1.

Radio WM commentators made reference to an interview with him earlier in the week on Radio WM.

So name these meetings where Doyle has been found wanting due to 'track conditions' or when a track hasn't suited him? He's right up the top of the league averages, right up the top of the GP standings. That suggests he has far less poor meetings than any other rider. Now Holder, the current version, I would agree with. Before his injury, the Ward incident etc it was a different story. Now, mentally, he is very fragile.

I can't agree with your assessment of Doyle at all. Sure he will whinge when he feels a track is unsafe, but he can ride them all fine. I don't think he's been 'found out' very often over the last couple of years!

Not necessarily. Some prefer to see the best riders win, not any old rider who happens to hit the right setup. I have some sympathy for that view, but I cannot deny the exciting racing.

Not sure that is the point he is making, although he hasn't made it well. What he is trying to say is more skill is required on more technical tracks. The NSS is heavily biased towards bike setup, it's pretty easy to ride. There are countless examples of that... BUT and it's a big but, that doesn't mean the racing is poor there, far from it.

Keep it civil Gavan. Let's have a thread discussing the match without the silly arguments. Yes Poole were lucky, Poole fans know that, but these things happen over the course of a season, they still had to take advantage of it and they did so with Worrall, Starke and Andersen really stepping up.

If we have Perks for 28 days I'd say the playoffs are far from a certainty.

Well done Poole, took advantage of the injury to Howarth. Wolves need to buck their ideas up sharpish. They have thrown a number of pts away in away matches earlier in the season and they could yet come back to haunt them.

I don't think Lynch was wrong at all to put Bjerre in against Morris. Don't give up a guaranteed two pts and potentially three. As for trying to avoid a tac.. seriously, if he can't rely on his No 1 to beat Musielak then....

Exactly, this is what you get when you rip up the outside so they are headed there from Heat 1. A bit of awareness wouldn't go amiss from Riss though.
