Deserved win for Wolves. Some good racing and a point for the Aces. I expected a bigger crowd but maybe it was because it was not on Monday.
-
Looks to me like Skornicki is riding a GM not the German engine. Heat 10 Masters tried to take Worral out to the fence bend 1 but fell off himself, ridiculous all 4 back decision by the referee.
-
Craig Cook in his Facebook q&a last week said he had not had any problems with the new tyre.

An investigation into Poole, you've got to be joking. Look at what happened after the 2016 Peter Craven meeting, Buster condemning the promotion and an SCB inquiry. What happened after the Darcy Ward meeting fiasco this year, zilch. Poole had no excuse, they have years of experience of knowing how the track reacts to various weather situations and when they can produce a safe racing surface. Belle Vue had no such experience at all and as we now know have the excuse that nobody knew about the problems with the track base, the real cause of the track safety issues. Not a promising start by Vatcher in his role with the SCB.

A tough match tomorrow which could go either way. Lindgren, Thorsell and Masters are difficult to beat at home and if Skornicki has solved his mechanical problems he should be good for 6 or 7 points. However, Bjerre is on fire, Cook has had an excellent start to the season and Worrall usually does well at Wolverhampton. I think Bewley will be the best of the four reserves but the deciding factor could be Fricke, who has yet to impress this season and whether Smith can pick up a few points. A narrow Aces victory 44-46.

Of course it would be ridiculous if the 1.4 or more realistically 1.25 or thereabouts calculation didn't apply once we have new premiership averages but we are talking about the BSPA.
-
Ah but you're not going to get under 42, if that's the new limit, if you bring Newman back until he completes his 4 home and away and by then all of the suitable KK replacements will be gone and the same for Holder if he doesn't improve. 🤔 We just need Sedgman to maintain his average so we can bring in Zagar to replace him. That is unless the BSPA come up with a sensible calculation to convert last years EL averages to the post 4 home and away Premiership averages. Who thinks they will. 😂

Looks like yet another anti Poole conspiracy to me. Terrible, you have to feel for Matt Ford.
-
I've not looked at anybody else but Aces don't get their 4 home and away until 24th May.

Belle Vue V's Wolves Fri 14/4/17

Difficult to see but also keep an eye on Dan Bewley. Recovers from a poor start to pass Howarth for 3rd place. -
Wasn't George Carswell's promoters licence suspended for 12 months. Like others I think it best not to repeat these sort of rumours, most of what I hear turns out to be rubbish unless it comes from one or two sources I trust. I would like to see George involved in some capacity but I can understand that the new promoters may want to do things their way.

Two other people have said they have either been told by Belle Vue that there is no charge for children not old enough to occupy a seat in the grandstand or not been charged, so I suspect this was just a matter of someone in the ticket office getting it wrong. There is no charge at all for children under 12 accompanied by an adult in the south stand. -

Says 1pm on the tickets, on the official website and on the BSPA website. Not sure how much clearer they can make it. Perhaps it's just Wolverhampton that need to get their act together. -

I can't either but Wolves and Belle Vue have a history of hard fought matches regardless of how good or poor our respective sides have been. Remember it is the closest we get to a local derby. -
I agree WestGorton1884. Reasons for optimism but far too soon to start drawing conclusions good or bad. Early season always throws up some surprises and not yet time for any team to be ordering the champagne or pressing the panic button. What does seem certain is that we shall again be privileged to see some brilliant racing at the NSS and that means I know I'll be happy come October. Happier still if we reach the play offs and even more so if we win it.

Belle Vue said there was a queue of people waiting to get in but also that the paramedics were attending to someone and that the racing couldn't start until they had finished. They held the parade whilst we were waiting and although I didn't look at my watch my impression was that we didn't seem to be waiting for very long for the first race. The meeting wasn't late finishing.
-
So Belle Vue won because they now know the racing lines and best set ups for the NSS. A bit like every other home team then, it's called home track advantage. Poole had those advantages in the home leg and yet could manage only a lucky 2 point win. The truth is that this Poole team are mediocre, they will be stronger when Newman returns and hopefully KK will find form. I was impressed by Shanes despite his poor points return. Once again we were entertained by some brilliant racing. Craig Cook was majestic and was never challenged but the real highlight for me was our two reserves. Bewley was so smooth, so assured and so fast. His winning times were in line with all of the other races, his heat 2 win was faster than KK in heat 1. Smith was delighted to have beaten Andersen and deservedly so. Both these young English riders are great prospects and will benefit from riding in all 3 leagues. It's difficult to believe that Bewley hasn't yet ridden for one full season.

Looking at the comments on Facebook and updates it looks as if there was very little passing. Good result for the Aces with another solid team performance, nice to see our inexperienced reserves picking up points and that Steve Worrall seems to be continuing his year on year improvement. -
Also looks good on android tablet.

I didn't expect that result and Poole are fortunate not to be going into the second leg 4 points behind. A solid performance from our 1-5, Bewley did far better than I thought in his first Premiership meeting and both he and Smith will improve as the season progresses. It's far too early to start counting chickens. Poole will be determined not to bow out of the competition at the first hurdle and KK, Kurtz, Andersen and Shanes have all shown a liking for the NSS. Add Klindt, who should be capable of scoring a lot of points at reserve and we could have a fight on our hands. However, I think we can certainly win by more than the 2 point deficit we have to overcome.
