  1. I posted to help you because you seemed clueless that the match had been postponed an hour earlier. I don't care if you posted your later update in bold, capitals, or filled it in in a silly coloured spreadsheet, it was added after i started to type you a helpful reply.
  2. You edited the post to add the bold bit afterwards. It wasn't there when I replied to query why you were looking for a match that had been called off an hour previously.
  3. Would imagine they removed everything at about 6.30pm when it was called off? No point in offering odds on a rain off
  4. If I was a posh solicitor looking to recruit a trainee then I certainly wouldn't employ him based on looks alone. If I was a promoter of an extreme sport like speedway, I'd certainly employ him.
  5. They should have played "It's all over now" Any truth in the rumour that KKS phoned in a requests dedicated to Kenneth Bjerre of "Miss you" and "Let's spend the night together"?
  6. I thought it was because Terry Russell had signed a deal with Barbara Windsor for a Speedway GP gala bingo game during the adverts. Personally I'd choose 5318008 just in case I fell off and landed in the fence upside down.
  7. I'd say an exclamation mark, a capital letter, a comma and a full stop. Christ! As a literacy teacher, I despair sometimes.
  8. His prerogative. It means his right, his privilege. Something he's entitled to do if he wants.
  9. Think he won £25,000 on "Smarter than a 10 year old". He went all the way through the questions to £25k but ducked out of the Jackpot question which would have given him £50k. He was on the daytime version with Dick and Dom which had lower money. If he'd got to the same stage on the evening version with Noel Edmonds he'd have won £100k with a chance to go for £250k if he'd attempted the jackpot question. Think he won about £60k on a Saturday night Chris Tarrant gameshow with coloured boxes. But that show was a flop and was binned after the few pilot episodes. Just found out it was called "The Colour of Money" and he won £63k http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Colour_of_Money_%28game_show%29
  10. I doubt clearing cookies does anything, and I wouldn't go messing with ipconfig or installing things, but I would imagine you could get extra votes by visiting the MCN website via a proxy like those "hide my IP address" type websites. No doubt some techy types will know how to make multiple votes, either for Tai or for others, but if we all just vote once, he should have a good chance. (Can do one vote from home, one from work, and one via mobile withoput much trouble).
  11. That bit about Penhall capsizing a canoe rings a vague bell with me. Just wondering if it was some spin off of the original series, that isn't covered by that website. Wasn't there some later kind of international event called Superteams or something like that?
  12. Yes. Totally wrong. Try and vote again and you'll get a message saying "Your vote has already been counted". Anyway, I've made my vote for Tai, (now to find some proxy servers to put some more votes through)!
  13. No you're getting confused. There were no pushbikes in Superbike 6. (Though P.C. took a heavy fall in the road racing section). The Superstars heat where P.C. fell off his pushbike was, as I said, broadcast on 19 January 1979. (Not the 1977 European Superstars heat). Superbike 6 was purely for Motorcycling sports (and go-karts I seem to remember). P.C., Ivan and Mike Lee represented Speedway. There were a couple of grasstrack riders (one of the Baybutts and another?), road racers, scramblers, enduro riders, and possibly Eddie Kidd(?) They all did each others sport but had to sit out their own. However as well as sitting out the speedway, P.C., Ivan and Lee were also given a ridiculous handicap in the grasstracking (half a lap, I think) and had no chance of making up the distance, and so had no chance of winning overall. Pretty sure the speedway was done at Wolverhampton, and it was the event that all the others dreaded. Edit: I'm almost sure Don Godden was the other grasstracker
  14. Kevin Keegan had a big crash in the pushbike racing on Superstars (think it's on youtube), but it wasn't connected to P.C.'s fall. Don't think the two incidents were even in the same year. . Edit: I've found Keegan's crash on youtube. It was 1976. Collins' crash will have been in the heat broadcast in January 1979 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4OzPrskdqU
  15. Exactly. The Scots, Bulgarians and Romanians may not have always been on our side in the past, but they're our European partners now.
  16. Pretty sure P.C. did fall off a push bike in Superstars. Seem to remember him doing pretty good at weightlifting, and I think he was in the same heat as Geoff Capes and finished ahead of him overall. Don't remember Michanek on Superstars, but that will have been a bit before my time. Don't remember Penhall doing it either, and he's not on the list posted by The Abbott above, so that one's got me puzzled
  17. Should we kick all Scots out of England too? After all they weren't on our side at Flodden.
  18. So you've already set this week's Star, so we'll read it in there on Thursday, which means an official announcement either tomorrow or Thursday morning.
  19. No. Peter Collins certainly appeared on Superstars and did very well. As far as I can recall he was the only speedway rider to appear on it. Fairly sure Jessup and Penhall didn't. Jessup was on a golf programme though. Either Pro-Celebrity Golf, or Around with Alliss
  20. Rewind three years to a Jimmy McGovern BBC mini-series called "Accused" set in Manchester with Christopher Eccleston. In the story one of the characters told Eccleston to move because he was blocking the TV. On TV was a GRT media video of Newcastle v Berwick. Apparently the footage had originally been supplied by GRT to the BBC for a programme called "Inside Out". Maybe the same footage has been used again in this new programme? See here:- http://www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=58962&p=1824726
  21. How could I have forgotten Carter and Jessup! P.C. was definitely on. Not sure about Jan O. Couple of extra thoughts. Were Michael Lee and Kelvin Tatum ever on? Don't think Lee was, but Tatum could have been?
  22. Can't remember Ivan being a mystery guest, but I do remember Erik Gundersen being the mystery guest when Hans Nielsen was on the panel. Also football referee Uriah Rennie was once the mystery guest having a go at Speedway at Sheffield. Trying to remember riders who have been on the QoS panel. I can recall Peter Collins, Hans Nielsen, Gary Havelock, Mark Loram & Jason Crump and I think Jan O Pedersen may have been on. I also have a vague memory of either Dennis Sigalos or Bobby Schwartz being on, but I'm not totally sure.
  23. The corner of the room, close to the aerial socket.
