Finishing 5th 20years ago would have represented a decent season finishing 5th now in a 6 teams league represents a poor season- changes all 3 league structure is definitely needed for next season not sure what or how but something has to happen .
-
You are correct and I think we need to return to two per team and stop the need lining the pockets of foreign riders who use the UK for a bit of pocket money when the more lucrative Polish league season has ended or there team fails to reach the playoffs- invest in young Brits - sadly once they become quality riders again they will leave the Uk leagues Woffinden Lambert and Bewley are prime examples. But least we are helping British riders . Iversen Tungate and Klindt are prime examples- make them welcome only if it’s for a full season .
-
If we are dependent on what Polish clubs do in making or not making the play offs the riders should be given a choice commit to a full season in the UK or don’t bother coming to the UK and if clubs are short of riders make the Uk teams up with young British talent - maybe each club should sign 2 young Brits instead of one . It’s time British speedway made a stand on this .

Belle Vue v Kings Lynn Euroflop 11 July
Haza replied to secsy1's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Probably two sides using the AFA next season rumour has it Peterborough will be using the track for home meetings as well .. -
I disagree- the score didn’t reflect the entertainment- it wasn’t all about the Belle Vue riders we was in in point scoring positions yes got passed - speedway was the winner last night on a great race track .
-
By far the best meeting I’ve seen on tv racing wise this season (forget the score line if u can ) normally with tv meetings I’ve lost interest by heat 8 and switched channels - the racing and passing was top draw - as for the Stars they must have played a part Josh was great entertainment- play offs look gone now so entertaining is a must

Totally agree - normally on tv meetings I’ve switched channels by heat 8 tonight I watched to the end brilliant racing poor result obviously for the Stars but the racing was the winner tonight. -

It used to equally as good as this until stock cars clay based soil was used instead of shale . A superb speedway meeting racing has been brilliant. -

Great racing on a awesome track - Lynn track should be as good as this -
I watched via the live stream and have to say the racing was awful in the early heats it did improve towards the end of the meeting - we paid £42 for the last 5 pairs meetings on the live stream . Would be interesting to no how many subscribers there was last night - £20 last night admission or £42 for 5 meetings that seems better value.
-
As I said the track hasn’t moved nor has the sun at this time of the year - I certainly don’t recall any sun delays in 70s 80s or 90s but guess the riders wasn’t going as fast or they used tinted visors
-
Poor racing so far gate and go pleased im watching via the stream - as for sun delays never happened in Terry Betts day and the track hasn’t moved and nor has the sun at this time of year
-
Think we might as well accept team changes are very unlikely to happen mainly because of rider availability . Hopefully the rules will be relaxed on 3 league rule for 2023 .
-
Like I said rider availability or lack of riders - Though Justin Sedgmen was one that was available but he’s been snapped up - so like I said they will stick with what they got .
-
Absolutely agree with what you are saying but I’d say odds on favourite for me is sticking with what we have will be shocked if they make a change -in my opinion I think the thinking is if we make the top 4 all well and good if we don’t the safety barrier can go away to next March - lack of rider availability comes into it obviously but there is a certain lack of ambition as well .
-
Ha ha the the answer is definitely a big YES to that one Lol
-
R/R or guests then - a capable replacement would be hard to find I’d say at this stage of the season
-
Totally agree about the BSN stream first time I’ve used last night paid £42 for 5 meetings is great value- streaming meetings is definitely the way forward for clubs a seasons pass for our fav clubs would be a great idea - with the cost of admission and travel costs and everything else going up in price watching from home is a great option . That said can’t beat attending any sport live .

Belle Vue v Ipswich Monday June 6th Live on TV
Haza replied to racers and royals's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Another entertaining meeting from the NSS - fans staying home to watch is understandable I think £20 + to get in while can watch on tv if already paying for Eurosport makes no sense in paying twice - along with cost of living expenses it makes complete sense to watch from home . Not even convinced reduced admission would make much difference to crowd levels at tv meetings nowadays. -
Short answer NO
-
I’d say he has a few concerns about Sophie Blake his ex partner and mum to Scott’s daughter - I’d say that could well be playing on his mind - he might have to make the same decision as Greg Hancock did when his wife wasn’t well - who could blame Scott if he decided to concentrate on media commentary ?
-
Winning team and Covid less of a problem they should be up - though cost of living crisis might counter act the other two .
-
Well done the Stars on there win - a 10 point win over one of the title favourites has to be a great result- so Kerr and Worral had a quite night I’m sure both will pay an important part in up coming meetings was still a 10 point win what some would like a 15-20 point win I guess
