An absolute farce it’s March two days time - move on and sort the league out for 2027 I’m done with this season

Thinking back to much better and happier times late 90s early noughties both Ipswich and Northampton would have been given a 31st January deadline to give a definite intention to race if not by that date that would have been it until the following season but we are in very desperate times in 2026 even if it’s at best a 6 team league unless there is a rabbit out of the hat signing the top 4 in the league already sorted .

It really does show what desperate state the Premier league speedway is in that we are 3 weeks away from racing and still not 100% sure if it’s 4 5 or 6 teams racing in 2026- definitely 4 probably 5 but still not 100% on Ipswich and possibly 6 teams if Northampton can get ready for the season - it really is desperate times .

With the new season 3 weeks away I’d have thought there would be some kind of building work going on at Northampton by now .

Could have been passing through along the M1 and thought let’s go and have a look at the Stadium and stir a few people up it’s a photo that’s all . And it could be AI

Can imagine potential sponsors at Northampton has long time lost interest similar with other clubs to a lesser extent cant even tell a potential sponsor how many teams are in the league this close to the start of the new season in all honesty who would be the slightest bit interested in sponsoring a club ?

Well if it all comes off at Northampton I wish them luck .

Good question there might still be a few around - there is a good catchment area around Northampton near the M1 easy to get to near Northampton as well compared to the club I used to attend kings Lynn who has the sea one side of the town Northampton is central with a massive catchment area the only thing they don’t have is hard core loyal fans that attend come what may and that’s a massive miss .

Might get a few ex Milton Keynes fans as well

With respect a tv deal with Prime or Netflix I believe would have a negative impact on the sport it show it up for what it is a Disney tv show would be more fitting

Looking at google images I can see what your saying and it be away from the stock car fence and be much safer what cost it come at I hate to think to install a track air fence and just the basics for speedway . And the leading question would it attract enough fans to make it viable?

Underwhelming statement when big changes and ideas where needed rather than go with the same old tired system if one of the 5 teams close mid season the whole league collapses .

Bit like when the Titanic sank the passengers in 3rd class knew the ship was sinking way before those in 1st class as they sipped champagne and ate caviar.

What a sorry state as we are about to turn the page into 2026 and still no idea how many teams will be in the league with 11 weeks roughly to the start of the season - how can anyone plan riders or sponsors and to a lesser degree fans . And how can this league be taken as a serious professional league ?

Should have done all the above when the sport had the Sky TV money instead it was squandered only the promoters to blame .

Well that might well be the case but the Agm in January roughly 2 months to the start of the season a so called professional sport and we don’t even no if it’s one big league one two leagues again with potential 5 teams in the PL with no tv deal either what positive spin can you put on this ?? If I was a potential sponsor I’d think shambles and walk away

Worrying times indeed -how and why would any potential sponsor want to get involved with British speedway? it’s nothing short of a shambles

Looking through theses post is really depressing to see the state of British Speedway especially the PL with only 3 confirmed starters maybe the PL should not run in 2026 and give more time to sort things out for 2027 - championship clubs seem more settled at least that’s something if going one big league cause them problems it’s not worth it let them run as they are this coming season .

Can’t fault the efforts of anyone trying to get speedway back at the Showground but it’s turned out two years wasted if the end result was always going to be a new home - it’s very sad situation speedway could have continued the last two seasons and had there been more enthusiasm from Chapman who knows what could have happened . Hopefully a new site can be found but not sure where the money is coming from to fund it on what is a 1000 fans

That’s it in nutshell too many meaningless meetings top4 was more or less set in stone from March then it was who’s best of the bottom 3 - half the meetings other than pride there was nothing on them

Put the semis on Saturday night at Belle Vue and Sunday afternoon at Ipswich then see how big the crowds would be but on a Monday and a Thursday both terrible nights to run a premium event - as for admission price last night maybe Belle Vue thought stick the price up as won’t be able to in the final as they doubt they will be in the final
