  1. True - it was just an idea - I then think it’s a big financial risk for any club to start the season with possibly many staying away -though could it have the opposite effect If it was to start In August 11months since last season ended could it get big crowds - who’d be a speedway promoter ? Difficult decisions lie ahead .
  2. If and it’s still a big if the season gets under way in August with social distancing the concerns I’d have is with the age group of speedway fans ie many 50 and older how many of this group will actually turn up for meetings ? It’s a massive gamble to start the season I think unless this group turn up each week - the conclusion I’ve come to is why not for this season only live stream meetings for say £9.99 a meeting those who feel safe to go pay as normal at the gate and those who don’t feel they are able to attend watch on the live stream this way the club wouldn’t lose revenue.
  3. March 2021 is most realistic start date sadly
  4. My guess March 2021 is realistic start date for the Uk Season to start
  5. Oh I’m so pleased I kept my cash in my pocket - Premier Sport use speedway as a filler nothing more nothing less if the tiddlywinks world championships was on they’d dump speedway - watch Polish league on live stream and keep your cash in your pocket
  6. I’ve fell for PS in the past speedway coverage - and always been disappointed by there will to drop speedway for any other live sport - they use speedway as a filler when there is nothing else better - I’ve watched all the Polish meetings so far live on the internet and hasn’t cost me a penny and will watch today live
  7. This is the exact reason Why I steered well clear of Premier Sports - thought they was showing all meetings live ?
  8. Hopefully it will again be on YouTube Fridays was excellent quality Pity the racing didn’t match it
  9. What about the swathes of empty seats on the top level at Cardiff ? They are not hidden by the safety fence . For me after attending every Cardiff Gp for the first 17 years I became very bored with it and fed up with rip off hotel prices and I ve not missed attending in the slightest for me the highlight of the whole weekend was the Pairs at Somerset on the Friday and the social side of Cardiff seeing friends I’d only see once a year - the whole thing needs a shake up in my opinion other than last year when it was in September most years it’s even run on the same weekend each year why not have the last gp one season ?- BV would not create the same atmosphere as Cardiff though most of it is air horns but one thing definitely the racing would be 100% better .
  10. Totally agree for me this is the route I’d go down cancel Cardiff obviously that isn’t going to take place - and go as late as we dare in the year with the GP at BV hopefully 14 day isolation on entering the UK will have ended if we leave it late in the season then run the gp at BV with empty stadium.
  11. Unless things change dramatically won’t matter how big the stadium is for crowds they ain’t going to be allowed to attend . And even if they was how do you keep people 2m apart ? It be a total nightmare.
  12. I’d have thought the obvious choice would be Belle Vue I say this because as things stand fans are not going to be able to attend so behind closed doors gp Live on tv on the original July Cardiff date is the only way forward I think - the other point is If fans could attend how many would at the moment ?because I certainly wouldn’t .
  13. Well I think in all honesty it’s already cancelled the stadium going to be a COVID Hospital till well into 2021 by all accounts - it may not be officially cancelled but we may no a little more on Sunday on what restrictions are going to be lifted .
  14. If that’s the case they might as well cancel it - maybe a switch to the National speedway stadium in the Autumn is on the cards ?
  15. That’s a very good point - but the moaning was why are tickets still on sale for sale I can’t see anywhere near 40,000 attending Cardiff this year if by the slimmest of chance it even happens - as a city would they want that sort of attendance people traveling form all over the country potentially with some carrying the virus into the city then there is hotels restaurants bars another breeding ground for the virus and they are looking like they will be the last to reopen - 40,000 ? I personally wouldn’t go anywhere near Cardiff Gp be lucky if 20,000 attend in my opinion many will take a view that attending isn’t a risk worth taking .
  16. Not being funny but who’d purchase a stadium ticket for any sporting event for this year at the moment? Yes BSI shouldn’t be still making tickets available I agree but I don’t think anyone would be crazy enough to still buy a ticket - would they ??
  17. Are you seriously saying going to Prague to watch a SGP sitting on a plane for two hours eating drinking in Prague using public transport sitting in the stadium- it’s worth the risk of getting COVID ??
  18. It’s could but it have little credibility in my eyes and would have be a loss maker without a major sponsors .
  19. To be honest that’s the least of our worries there is people are dying of this virus up and down our country- if speedway season starts all well and good we will be on top of beating the virus - until then in the big picture speedway doesn’t matter.
  20. Can I ask a question- would you feel comfortable traveling to Prague sat on a plane for 2 hours travelling from the airport to hotel eat and drinking in Prague and sitting in the stadium with many others I for one wouldn’t feel comfortable with this even if the Gp is on and flights are not cancelled as things stand I wouldn’t be attending.
  21. I really can’t see Cardiff happening this year 40.000 people normally I’d guess some will decide it’s not worth the risk going so say 30.000 decide to go you then got hotels that need to open bars restaurants shops all will you’d think be busy all this to me = a hot bed for the virus . Then there is the locals in Cardiff would they want people from all over the UK in there city ? Just can’t see how it will happen this year and July 18 is way to soon
  22. It isn’t often I comment on this forum anymore but I feel I want to about the current situation regarding the virus -I really can see this season not starting can see this only getting worse sadly with Pubs and other public places closing Friday and possible lock down coming in the next few days or even today best possible I think we’ve got this for 6 months which takes us to the end of September so I think whatever sport we love think we have accept it could be a blank summer - sorry for doom and gloom just being realistic .
