  1. Thanks for that I have sat everywhere myself and top tier doesn't bother me with drunks etc but the wife enjoyed it that much she wants to go again next year. Won't do bottom section again though. Definately doing middle tier just wondering if the extras worth it. Might toss a coin to decide. Once it's booked it's booked so can forget about the decision making then. Lol. Thanks for the advice though I take it the hotels haven't put there proper prices on yet and are just showing April fools day prices at the minute
  2. That's what I paid but was in the lower tier on bend 4, was thinking of going N1 or N2 on the middle tier next year which are £47 at the minute. To avoid the air horns I was thinking of paying the £72 in section M27 which would be £50 extra in total. bit pricey to say the least though, but might not bother with the hotel next year. anyone sat in both these sections so could judge if its worth the extra in M27
  3. Which hotel you booked and can anyone recommend one, could only get in the Ibis because I booked so late, not good. Plus looks like I'm having trouble with them charging my c/c for breakfast even though I paid cash
  4. Went for the first time in about 5 years and thougherly enjoyed it and thought the racing wasn't bad. Took the wife for her 2nd ever meeting and she's no speedway fan but said she wants to go again next year. Because I booked late and stayed over it was an expensive day with tickets hotel meal and a few beers plus the petrol reckon I must have spent knocking on £350 or there abouts.not cheap but then again what is these days. Got tickets in the bottom section because of the wife's fear of heights!! Felt a bit claustrophobic under the 2nd tier but decent view. I wouldn't go back to going year after year but might give next year another visit or maybe tempt her with a Polish gp
  5. I think I remember that what was the story behind it
  6. Hiya Dandelion I'm a big fan of Ashley obviously since watching him a good few years ago but I really think he should be at least heat leader now in the championship. A bit like Tom Perry. I remember when we came back thinking these two are going to be GP riders but in reality there a million miles from the young Poles
  7. Not the best meeting but heats 13 and 15 were fantastic, Dan Bewley looked impressive last season but he's come on loads. Thanks to Danny Ayres for the £5 complimentary ticket , felt smug then my brother got one off Conner Dwyer for nothing. Doh. Even with the gate and go races I enjoyed the speed of the track and viewing fantastic. £3 car parks a bit steep though
  8. Strange how so many seemed to have a break I only went now again between about 82 and 98. I only started going in 75 so had 7 years full on which is no way near the nearly 20 years since I returned to the sport. Trouble is I can remember more about them first 7 years than the past 20 years
  9. Don't be daft there's no chance I'd get rid of her if I post a photo
  10. I agree with that Sidney but I think this year could see a few of the top 8 regulars changing. There is a fear I suppose that some of the youngsters look that good that they could be there for the next 10 years.
  11. Must admit I'd be at Somerset on a regular basis but Friday on the M5 from the Midlands is not good
  12. Il get shouted down for this but if there were qualifiers there's a risk some might be riders who got in and have no chance, just like the old one offs. In the good old days you could write off half the field before it started. Imagine having say 10 gps where half the field have no chance. The way it is now is a bit of a closed shop but so is the moto gps , formula 1 etc. So does speedway go back in time when everything was better, or was it? Just a thought
  13. Agree, never get this use it or lose it attitude. Why would you use something if your not getting vfm and not enjoying the product or the way your being treated.
  14. Very interesting interview, what's to lose really. It couldn't get any worse
  15. From what I've seen I'd go BV,Somerset,Wolves,Swindon,Poole,Rye,Leicester. I've left KL out because from what I've seen with my own eyes theyed go 3rd but according to reports I'd put them 7th
  16. Simple way to resolve it Steve, don't reply. Just ignore it. Difficult I know but rise above it
  17. Love going to Swindon for some reason but never see much passing , strangely same with Poole
  18. As a Heathen and not far from the site I'm desperate this happens however with the state the sports in it would be typical when we get back there's no body to ride against
  19. The scary thing is of the tracks in the PL only BV , Somerset and Wolves produce decent racing at the minute
  20. Ive given up on reading the last half a dozen pages but the promotors just don't get it, I thought of having a ride to Swindon but with no Doyle thought shall I make a night of it and ride down to KL where I've always enjoyed the meetings but with the feed back of late thought it's a bit risky. You know what I went up the pub and spent £9.65 instead of at least treble that for KL. oh yeh and I had a better night by the sounds of it
  21. I was just about to get the bike out for a ride and end up at Swindon, not sure now. Might do pub instead
  22. Id say join me and my mates for a pint but strangely I'm taking the wife this year, then again you can take her for a drink if you want and il spend the day by myself. Lol
