  1. Just been to the local tesco so thought I'd pick up the star for the bumper issue, sold out. Good news for the ss if not for me. Il try to get one at Somerset tonight. Fingers crossed on the weather
  2. 2015 I did Somerset, Poole and Swindon on my bike with overnights in Somerset and Poole . I had a cracking few days despite Poole being rained off. Saw Darcy Ward before he's accident in the Swindon meeting and that lives with me still. Very special. Hopefully do a northern tour this year on the bike.enjoy yourself ps
  3. Tbh I find myself being able to cope with the incompetence in speedway because let's be honest it's speedway after all, what drives me bonkers is the apathy and the seemingly couldn't give a monkeys attitude and not caring about the fans but still expecting them to turn up. I'm due to go to Somerset Friday and Rye House Saturday but I'm not confident all will be well although I've never had a problem at those tracks before. There's a few I don't venture to anymore, one not a million miles away because it tends to be a shambles every time we go
  4. Would have loved to have been at that twk to see Bernie come second, I know your views are totally different to that because of what happened but each to their own. I managed to get a copy of the program which I've still got despite getting rid of most of my other momentos from the past
  5. We used to have a fair few gangs of us into speedway so there was always a meeting of some sorts going on. Amazing what I used be able to do on my many old push bikes, trying to imitate PC and Mort. Coming a cropper many times but bouncing back up again. I struggle to tie my shoe lace or put my pants on these days
  6. Sorry Gustix I'm going off topic, does anyone know the attendance for the first Golden Ommer at Dudley Wood. I've got it in my head it was 20,000. Proberly a senile moment. Apologies again Gustix
  7. im about 5 miles from the track give or take but its very wet here, don't think its got much chance tbh
  8. Weather not looking good at the minute, let's hope it brightens. Should have been my 3rd meeting but for various reasons it will be my first if it's on
  9. Twk, although I totally agree with you re the double points lifes to short to miss out on something you enjoy. I go to watch the heathens and keep no record of the score and watch prem meetings and championship meetings were neither team mean a thing to me. It's not the same as it was or even should be but I enjoy my speedway fix in a different way. The passions not there in the same way but it's still a good night out or even night away. Try it you may surprise yourself
  10. Gave up on programs because within a very short space I can't remember the meeting anyway and having a program doesnt jog memory. So I have a burger instead
  11. If that's the average speeds what do you reckon the top speed would be at say Sheffield
  12. Was the start and finish line in different places at Plough Lane or am I dreaming, if not was there a track somewhere
  13. Here we go again, they've had more arguments than me and the wife have had after 32 years of marriage
  14. Was that still the same in the 70s gustix, I'm sure I remember being interested in the golden helmet regardless who the riders were
  15. Strange really, and it might be rose tinted glasses I'm looking through but I'm sure that if it was all square after home and away legs and it went to a neutral track the neutral track fans were still interested
  16. Like twk I hate the double points although it doesn't stop me attending. How many times though do you watch a meeting and the double points brings the scores closer and you think that's good it's a closer meeting now but I hope the team who used the tactical doesn't win. So, what's the bleeding point
  17. Anyone not with BT for anything but with sky tried to do a deal with either to get BT sports
  18. I remember a horrific crash with Hans Anderson on sky and when interviewed and asked if he was continuing in the meeting he said yes I don't want to be compared to a footballer. Thought it was a brilliant reply
  19. Maybe wrong but thought I could hear bikes at monmore this afternoon
  20. You know me twk, when did we meet lol
