Hope Shortoi doesn't notice! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> lets just keep this one between me, you and the other 3,500 members, eh?

apologies if it seemed like i was jumping down your throat
-
please dont let this turn into another hans bashing thread. i didn't see anything wrong with andersen's riding tonight. it was a simple case of jonsson trying too hard round the bend and losing balance.

i doubt loram will be in next year's series. we'll have nicholls and loram, and they wont award us a 3rd british rider, especially on this year's evidence. -
apologies, i meant tr. on the back straight jonsson was ahead of tr. he didn't have the line though and rickardsson went through to take 2nd off him. then to make things worse andersen goes through. just to rub salt in the wounds, jonsson goes and puts himself in the airbag. i'm only bitter because i lost money
-
he got out of the gate fine. he was in 2nd, and then he let it slip to hancock and then to andersen. ok gate 3 wasn't working very well, but he got in the mix and in my opinion should've done better. oh well, some people are never happy are they?

i'm gutted because i had a bet on jonsson and then he bottled it well done to rickardsson though, now a very realistic title contender once more.

jonsson at 20/1 looks a very good bet. thanks andy i'll be heading down ladbrokes soon! -
i can't stand the TR. having seen it so many times this season, being a coventry fan, i still despise it. it rewards riders for winning races which they could've won anyway. how is that fair? just because a team is behind, they send their best rider out in a heat he knows he's going to win and gets 6 points for it. the rider is doing nothing special of different to what he would normally, except wear a different helmet colour. now the tactical substitute rule, i liked that. the management took a gamble and the rider had to do something special to come out of the race with the double points. as i say, being a coventry fan i've seen the TR in nearly every meeting i've been to. when we use it, it never works. however, the 2 times (yes, twice) it's been used against us it's decided the meeting and ended up in us losing. the meetings against poole and swindon would otherwise have gone our way but for the TR rule. lunacy.

i sat between the 1st and 2nd bend, in the top tier. we were right at the back, and the view from up there was majestic. very happy to have paid £25 for it too!! -

once again depending on where in the midlands there's peterborough not too far away. that one's for if you live in the east midlands though. the fans make the sport what it is. i remember at cardiff last year me and a few mates (bees fans) bumped into a gang of wolves fans. after a few drinks, we started to chat and have a little banter about the local rivalry. it was all good natured and very well mannered (they mustn't have been from wolverhampton itself then ) whereas if it was a football event something may have kicked off. there's no segregation at speedway grounds, you sit where you like and talk to whoever is next to you be they supporting the same team as you or not. of course you get the vast minority spoiling it for the majority but every sport has those people. -

for the sport to truly move forward clubs need to promote league speedway more prominently. i've never seen an advert for coventry speedway at all. the most i've seen is a small write-up of the last result in my weekly local newspaper. if the sport is to attract more people, they need to let the people know the sport exists. i'll admit that 5 years ago i never knew what speedway was. it was only through a friend that i got into the sport. seems the only way to promote the sport, word of mouth.
