  1. Love or hate him but Cookie is still one of the best riders in the league that’s the fact here we can all probably agree with. For me and whatever the reason was he shouldn’t of left last season he’s realistically got a few years left in the tank he’s a local lad and has the best track and set up in the country on his doorstep, if he does put the blue and white on again I feel he will be fired up to do what he knows he can and with that it gives us a lot of strength and experience in the big heats. Craig and Troy are some of the best team riders in the league, I also agree with the comment above him and Tate team rode so well together and were 5-1 machines at 1 and 2. Lets see what’s announced next! Give us a C
  2. If so then we have a new number 1 in Jonas plus 2 previous number ones in our team without the pressure for me that makes us very strong along with Tate who can produce big scores too.
  3. Troy’s clearly happy with us which for him is important. He is very experienced and if you look at his scores this season he’s been pretty solid home and away and that was at number 1 which he won’t be riding at next season. Troys well worth his average and is a welcome addition to our team again.
  4. Welcome back Troy happy to have him back in our team, experience on and off the track!

  6. Wouldn’t say that Lambert always comes across a 110% trier maybe getting old but strong team man who can score well especially at reserve …. who knows! season tickets out soon so get them wallets out and support this club 🔵⚪️
  7. McDiarmid 5.18 Grahn 5.3 Antti 6.87 Harrison 4.97
  8. Yes I didn’t even consider him not coming back , for me he was nailed on for next years team. Guess it goes to show you never know what’s coming during team building. Im assuming the promotion have our full team already in place now so time will tell what our 1-7 looks like, but id like to thank Jacob for all his efforts this year great to watch and top fella hope to see him with a team soon!

  10. Great opportunity to support the club and get your name on the 2026 racesuit! https://workingtoncomets.com/2026-executive-club-now-available/
  11. To be fair if your taking a newbie to speedway Workington Redcar Glasgow Belle Vue are about the only tracks you know are a safe bet for a great meeting.
  12. I bet there was a “offer” from him. Great promotion from Glasgow and a very competitive team. Setting the blueprint again on how to promote have to congratulate them.
  13. Hook will be and should be back with us next year without doubt so I’m already assuming he’s in the team, 3 riders left to announce as far as I’m concerned.
  14. 110% every heat! Thought we might of lost him to Glasgow Welcome back Vinnie !!
  15. I’d have Antti back very professional and imo he’s so good to watch around northside such a good style.
  16. Very solid start to our 2026 team building so far, I’m assuming Hook is nailed on ( be extremely shocked if not ) but sounds like the promotion have got things in place. Already excited for the new season ahead it’s always a long winter !
  17. Back home after supporting the guys tonight, never go to Edinburgh with much expectations it’s such a unique track to ride. Big mention to Batch and Hooky, everyone tried but as said it’s a unforgiving track and is extremely hard to pass after the 2nd bend even for the home riders! We are all aware how good we can be at home let’s make a go of it and try for that bonus point. Hopefully see a few travelling Edinburgh fans too. Onto tomorrow!
  18. Scunthorpe (32) 1. Steve Worrall 2. Zaine Kennedy 3. Luke Harrison 4. Connor Mountain 5. Jake Allen 6. Declan Kennedy 7. Simon Lambert Workington (58) 1. Troy Batchelor 2. Fraser Bowes 3. Tate Zischke 4. Jye Etheridge 5. Antti Vuolas 6. Jacob Hook 7. Connor Coles (G) No Vinnie Foord today due to injury. As usual it won’t be an easy task at the EWR but some real encouraging performances from all of our lads over the last few weeks! Come on the Comets!
  19. Agree it’s falling short on some🤣 Great crowd in attendance yesterday so naturally it took longer to exit the arena and long may that continue! I’d wait whatever it took to get out if it meant a great attendance for our club! Imagine Mancheter united fans getting upset that after a game there was alot of traffic leaving the area…🫣
  20. Great performance from Redcar tonight as expected it wasn’t to be easy especially with the guests in place so well done to them. Big thanks to Redcar Bears supporters for the great away support always good to see. There was some superb racing today not all in our favour but still good Speedway on show which is obviously the main ingredient to a good meeting! Onto next weekend away at Scunny and Plymouth
  21. Very tough meeting in store for our lads this afternoon, Redcar are a strong team with a lot of riders who ride our track well (who doesn’t ) and in my opinion are stronger from Grahn now in as a guest. We have been on form over the last few weeks so need to continue this and let’s hope it starts with us winning the coin toss as this can be important early on in meeting.
  22. Goes without saying it won’t be an easy task for our boys but we’re on form right now so i remain positive. C’mon the Comets !
  23. So good to see the Comets riding so well yesterday I can say a lot of good things about everyone in the team however more importantly for me the biggest positives I seen yesterday were the atmosphere in the team and sprite among all the riders, from Troy at 1 down to Vinnie so nice to see. The last 2 weeks have been great for the club after such a worrying time. Have to comment on how good the track was too, I think somebody have already mentioned this but for such a one sided affair it was very an entertaining meeting. Well done all involved!
  24. I’d say Andrew and the rest of the promotion are entitled to alot more respect than the label of a “Crook” Im sure you’ve witnessed the amount for efforts and money that has been put into Workington Speedway at Northside , regardless of what people speculate this promotion have done everyone proud in the work they’ve done.
