COVENTRY’S Elite League play-off semi-final against Poole will now take place on FRIDAY (September 18). The decision has been taken early due to a poor weather forecast for the initial staging date on Monday. The scheduled National League match between Coventry Storm and Cradley on Sunday goes ahead as planned (midday start).
-
You mean when the referee approved a delay to the start time, then the referee postponed the meeting prior to the new start time? Hardly the Coventry promotion's fault, was it.
-
(1) There are signs outside the turnstiles (unless they've all been removed in the last couple of weeks which I doubt but will check tomorrow). (2) I will check with the staff, but in any event the terms are so clearly stated both at the stadium, in the programme, and, lets be honest, by custom (the current procedures have been in place for a number of seasons) that I find it difficult to believe that there is actually any confusion. 10 heats from 30? 23 heats were raced last night You're entitled to make that decision. Personally I never want to run another double-header either, but fixture pressures sometimes make it inevitable. Won't - as in I have much more pressing things to do today than type out a fairly lengthy piece of text. I am happy to email a photo of the terms if you wish to send me your email address to neil@coventrybees.co The terms are generic as the actual value of a re-admission ticket varies depending on the admission price and heats completed. Personally, as a speedway fan, I just want to watch the racing - I would never decide whether to attend a meeting or not just because of some perceived worry as to what might happen if the meeting is abandoned. Perhaps I'm in a minority.
-
As I said, the re-admission terms are clearly stated at the turnstiles (outside before money is paid and entry gained) as well as in the programme. I also stated that the turnstile staff were not on duty at the end of the meeting (which is when I presume your query arose).
-
The re-admission policy is exactly as for a normal meeting - if a meeting ( and a double-header is simply a 30-heat meeting in this context) is abandoned before Heat 10 the re-admission ticket accrues some value towards a future meeting. Last night's meeting was frustratingly abandoned after 23 heats. The re-admission policy is clearly stated in the match programme and at the turnstiles; by the close of the meeting last night no turnstile staff were on duty but I was in the speedway office should anyone have had a query ( which they didn't). If anyone thinks that we as a promotion somehow engineer these abandonments as a way of 'making money' they could not be further from the truth. The particular circumstances of last night's abandonment could well have also cost us a Gold Cup place. Re-staging dates for the three outstanding Storm meetings will be announced in due course. It is still important that we finish second in the league table, for pride, and to ensure we have choice of leg priority should there be a Bees v Robins final. -

Yes, there's a seven-day window to replace riders with season-ending injury. SR 16.3.4.1 A 7-day window, prior to the scheduled date of the first EL Play-Offs will enable EL Clubs only to replace long-term Injured Riders, but not with Riders in other EL Team Declarations. NB. SR 16.3 does not apply but Riders must be fully licensed, have current Start Permission and be eligible to participate in UK Speedway. -

It's been our approach with Coventry Storm - over 16 pay £10, 16 and under go free. It makes it easier for a family to afford to attend and, hopefully, gets the youngsters hooked - they are the fans of the future after all! -

Date amended -
Monday August 31, 2015 COVENTRYS home fixture against Swindon on Wednesday will now have adult admission prices of just £10 for all. Originally the admission offer was to be for the holders of re-admission tickets from Mondays match against Lakeside, as well as from Swindons last home fixture. But the Lakeside match is now off due to a waterlogged track, and the Wednesday offer for admission at almost half-price compared to the normal adult rate will now apply to all. All adults will be admitted on Wednesday for £10, with under-16s free of charge.

Meeting postponed - restaging date Wednesday 9th September -
The first meeting had a number of restarts and falls, and Kent's rider replacement gave three two-on-the-trot.

Your first post gave the distinct impression you were a disgruntled paying fan. When in fact you were just following the Internet...... The county ambulance didn't leave the track with Dan on board until 10.55pm, with ten heats still to run that would have been far too late for fans, riders and track staff regardless of any curfew time. As soon as it became clear that Dan's medical treatment would take some time the meeting was abandoned by the referee.
