  1. Josh Bates is ineligible to guest for Coventry under the eight-day rule.
  2. SR17.7.1.2 A Rider may ride as a Guest (in an Official Meeting) at a Track only once in an 8-day period unless replacing the Home Teams #1 or is a NL Rider guesting for the Home Team. An 8-day period includes two Fridays (or other day) - the rule is designed to prevent a 'track specialist' guest appearing at a track every week for different opposition.
  3. But you weren't there... Islander15's post is a much fairer reflection of the meeting.
  4. When teams have the same match points, they are ordered by race point difference.
  5. The future stars of speedway will be competing in Round 3 of the British Youth Championship on Sunday at the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium. It is the fourth occasion that Leicester has hosted the event and it promises to be bigger and better than ever. The competition has grown year on year in its popularity and many of todays younger riders have graduated from this level and into the National and Premier Leagues. There will be plenty of interest for spectators to see, especially Kyle Bickley who is a name to watch in the 250cc class. Kyle retained his 125cc World title in Plezn, Czech Republic last month against a field of riders, some of whom were older and much more experienced than the thirteen year old from Cumbria. Kyle will be bringing the trophy he won with him for all to see. For Lions fans their two mascots, the Thompson twins will be competing in the 125cc section. Dan and Joe have shown up well in the two previous rounds at Scunthorpe and Eastbourne, each making the rostrum on both occasions and will be looking to put their Leicester track knowledge to good use. If previous staging of the British Youth Championship at Leicester is anything to go by then Sundays event will be another great occasion. The skill level of these young riders is incredibly high right from the youngest through to the 500cc section. The racing is enthralling as they all want to win and of course the added bonus for Lions fans is the fact that the Thompson twins, Dan and Joe will be battling it out to continue their great form. With fifty-seven races on Sunday it is going to be a feast of speedway for fans to watch and like previous years it will flow very quickly with hardly any gaps in between. The meeting is incredibly well organised and it is testimony to the event co-ordinator Neil Vatcher who puts so much energy and time into running the British Youth Championship enthused the Lions Promoter David Hemsley. The stadium ticket office will be open at 1.00 pm on Sunday and admission prices are: Adults £8.00, Children (aged 10 to under 16) £2 and under tens are free. This meeting is also included as part of the season ticket offer. With fifty-three heats on the programme and four finals the admission prices represent great value and the meeting will start at an earlier time of 3.00 pm on Sunday.
  6. £15 for over-16, under 16 free. £2 programme
  7. Danny was Peterborough's No 8 http://www.speedwaygb.co/15results/peterborough_29.05.15_res.pdf

  9. Rye House 44 - Coventry Storm 45 Branford 14+1 RR Hughes 11+1 Woods 2 Chessell 11+1 Hume 4 Bowtell 2+1 Hunter DNR Crang 7 Knuckey 0 Ritchings 8 Shuttleworth 6+1 Greenwood 15 Walker 3+1 Dwyer 6+1
  10. Rob is No 9 in Tier 2. The correct terminology is EDR (Elite Draft Rider) Edit: The EL Green Sheets are now at Issue 8 rather than the Issue 2 referred to.
  11. COVENTRY are delighted to announce the signing of one of the sport's most talented youngsters. 15-year-old Jamie Halder has agreed to join the City Gearboxes Storm after impressive results in the various Youth categories. Both Halder and Callum Walker will be given opportunities with the Storm over the coming weeks as they also have to combine their racing with school work. To facilitate the move, the Storm have allowed Stefan Farnaby to join Mildenhall, and we wish him all the best for the remainder of the season.
  12. Add in the two 5-1 (one for each team) and fifteen bonus points were earnt!
  13. COVENTRY Storm need to repeat any of their previous Brandon results against Kent when the sides meet in the Knockout Cup on Friday (7.30pm). The City Gearboxes Storm have to pull back a 14-point deficit from Mondays first leg at Central Park but on both of the Kings visits in 2014, Coventry won by a 15-point margin, as well as a 59-33 romp in 2013. Manager Laurence Rogers is urging positivity from his side, who will be racing their first official home match of the season after impressive performances on the road in the National League so far. The Storm do have to cover for the absence of Dan Greenwood, on Premier League duty with Rye House at Scunthorpe, with the rider-replacement facility the only option, whilst at reserve 16-year-old Callum Walker is handed his home debut. Rogers said: Fourteen points is a lot, but its not insurmountable, and also there are no tactical rides in a two-legged competition, so Kent wont be able to put someone in for double if we open up a lead on the night. I definitely believe we have a chance. With a couple of 5-1s here and there we can start eating into the lead, and the boys will be up for it. Conor (Dwyer) was close to their reserves on Monday and I think around his home track he should have the measure of them, and Callum was very nervous with it being his first meeting but the boys are all helping him and hopefully hell be able to pick up some points. Coventry are keen to stress to supporters that admission prices for National League fixtures remain just £10 for all adults, with all children free. Since launching the Storm in 2013, there has been major progress made by several riders, with current Bees regular James Sarjeant the most notable example, along with the likes of fellow club assets Oliver Greenwood and Stefan Nielsen, who have both won British Under-19 championships, and there are riders in this years team who could be the next to make the step up. Rogers said: Ive been trying to push things over the last few days, and my thanks to the Coventry fans who have been doing likewise on social media encouraging people to get down there and support the Storm. We get great racing in the National League, these boys are the Bees of the future and they really appreciate the support. It was a Challenge match earlier this season when the crowd was under what we wanted, but hopefully on Friday well be back to our normal level of support and Id encourage any regular Bees fans who havent come along to the Storm yet to come and take a look! Fridays meeting includes the Bronze Helmet match race following the main 15-heat fixture, with both teams to nominate a rider after Greenwood defeated Kents Ben Morley on Monday.
  14. Mildenhall 48 Storm 42 - Jack Kingston won the Bronze Helmet
  15. Why? Since the season started Dan has picked up an Premier League spot and Martin has picked up an injury. The essence of the NL is rider development and 'higher-league' fixture clashes are part and parcel of NL racing.
  16. We never thought we were invincible - but are pleased to have match points on the board so early in the season.
  17. I couldn't have put it better myself!
  18. James won't be riding tomorrow, the guest replacement will be announced shortly.
  19. The Bees want to win EVERY meeting they contest!
