  1. Danny King will be otherwise engaged on Saturday! Leicester v Coventry
  2. We go into every meeting intending to win I'm sure you noted that Wolverhampton had a guest on stand-by in case Tobiasz Musielak was unfit for today.
  3. I understand your thoughts, but we have to be open to the possibility of losing a rider to injury early in the meeting.
  4. Elite League to Premier League - x 1.4 Premier League to Elite League - x 0.6
  5. Which is exactly what I spent pretty much all of yesterday doing.....
  6. COVENTRY’S home leg of the National League Grand Final against Cradley on Friday will now take place AT LEICESTER (7.30pm). The club have been informed that Brandon Stadium is no longer available as the staging venue for this meeting due to preparations for Saturday’s Stock Car event. An alternative venue has therefore been sourced as it was felt this was a far more preferable option than to simply concede the tie. Coventry Speedway wish to thank Leicester promoter David Hemsley and his staff for their co-operation in allowing the use of the Jordan Road Surfacing Stadium for this important meeting, as well as the Cradley management for their agreement to the change. The City Gearboxes Storm trail the Heathens by just ten points going into the second leg of their National League title-deciding clash. We acknowledge the circumstances are far from ideal but we hope as many supporters as possible will be able to make the trip to Leicester to back the Storm on Friday. Admission: Adults £12, Children Free. Programme: £2.
  7. COVENTRY Storm face the biggest match of their season on Monday when they take on powerhouse Cradley in the first leg of the National League Grand Final at Brandon (7.30pm). The meeting has been brought forward by seven days due to the re-arrangement of the senior team’s Final in the Elite League, so the City Gearboxes Storm are the first to go into action in the vital closing stages of the season. And having been the only team throughout 2014 to get the better of the Heathens, that coming in a dramatic Brandon clash on Easter Monday, they are looking for some kind of a lead to take to Monmore for the second leg next Tuesday. Whilst the Storm were overcoming Kent in a competitive semi-final, Cradley romped to a 41-point home win over Mildenhall and then finished the job by winning at West Row last weekend. The Heathens track a team with potential race-winners in every department, several of whom could be No.1s at other clubs – and they include Steve Worrall and Paul Starke, whose respective Premier League clubs have qualified for the Grand Final at that level. But the Storm have also gained in strength from their semi-final line-up with Stefan Nielsen expected back from a near two-month injury absence, although a planned try-out at Kent last Friday was ruled out due to the weather. Club asset Joe Jacobs again steps in at No.1 in place of injured British Under-19 Champion Oliver Greenwood whilst James Sarjeant leads the team fresh from his 18-point maximum in the semi-final and a run of crucial scores for the senior team in their own title charge. Storm boss Laurence Rogers said: “It’s going to be a special tie. Cradley are on fire as we know, and I’m sure it’s going to be entertaining to say the least. “If we can get everyone going, we can do it. It’s a shame Ollie is out for the rest of the season as his knee damage is worse than we thought, but having JJ in should stand us in good stead. “We just need a couple of the boys to get going, hopefully Sarj can continue the form he’s been in and I’m sure Dan (Greenwood) would love to go back to Cradley and take the title!” Admission on Monday is £12 for all adults, with children free of charge as usual. CITY GEARBOXES STORM (from): Dan Greenwood, Joe Jacobs, Martin Knuckey, Stefan Nielsen, Luke Priest, James Sarjeant, Ryan Terry-Daley CRADLEY (from): Max Clegg, Nathan Greaves, Tom Perry, Danny Phillips, Paul Starke, Matt Williamson, Steve Worrall.
  8. COVENTRY Storm will race the first leg of the National League Grand Final against Cradley at Brandon THIS MONDAY (Oct 13). The meeting has been brought forward by seven days because the senior team will be racing in the away leg of the Elite League Grand Final on October 20. The City Gearboxes Storm will take on the Heathens in the first leg this Monday (7.30pm start), with the return at Monmore Green as initially scheduled a week on Tuesday, October 21. Admission on Monday will be £12 for all adults children free.
  9. The 125 meeting was a cracker - 13 heats in an hour, no false starts or falls. Kyle Bickley retained his title, all twelve riders tried their socks off but a special mention for Harry McGurk who fought from last to second in the final and wasn't too far away from Kyle at the finish.
  10. The 125 race card is part of the meeting programme Admission prices and programme cost are unchanged Weather is dry and cloudy and cooler than yesterday! Gates open 2pm, 125s at 2.30pm, PL at 5pm Panthers 1970 team reunion Face painting, Men in Black and Farewell to Ryan Sullivan during the afternoon.
  11. Gates open 2pm, 125 Championship starts at 2,.30pm, PL match at 5pm
  12. Ryan is injured, Lasse rides in the World Under 21 championship.
  13. 17th March Press Release COVENTRY and Peterborough are delighted to announce a major joint Ticket Buster promotion – which allows £10 admission for season ticket holders of every Elite and Premier League club at the two venues. The offer applies to any Elite (Coventry) or Premier League (Peterborough) fixture at either track, and admission will be available at £10 for any season-ticket holder of a club not involved in the meeting in question. This means, for example, that a Bees season-ticket holder can visit the Showground and see any league fixture, primarily staged on Tuesdays, for £10 – whilst Panthers season-ticket holders can also get a fix of Elite League racing at Brandon, generally on Fridays, also for £10. American star Ryan Fisher races for both teams, whilst Coventry Storm’s Oliver Greenwood and club asset Joe Jacobs line up at reserve for the Panthers, and Peterborough asset Hans Andersen is the Coventry senior No.1. The offer is extended to season ticket holders of all other Elite and Premier League clubs, except when their own club visits the venue in question. Promoter Mick Horton said: “I know a similar scheme has operated before between tracks at Premier League level, and with my involvement at two clubs it gives us the chance for some crossover promotions. “I’m sure some Coventry fans would like to check the progress of their club assets racing in the Premier League, and likewise there will be supporters at Peterborough who would like to still see some live Elite League racing. “It then seemed sensible that we extend that offer across the top two leagues, so the message is that neutral supporters who fancy a night out at either venue are more than welcome.” All £10 admissions must be accompanied by the holder’s season ticket, which are not transferable for any event.
  14. PETERBOROUGH star Ryan Fisher is facing shoulder surgery which will keep him out of action for up to two months. The Panthers are now searching for a guest for the American star to ride at Workington in the League Cup semi-final on Sunday, and then for a permanent replacement. Co-promoter Trevor Swales said: “It is a massive blow for Ryan to learn his season is virtually over and he will be a big loss to the club. It goes without saying that everyone at Peterborough wishes him well. “Our first task now is to come up with a guest for Sunday and then we need to quickly assess our options going forward. We cannot even contemplate using rider replacement to cover the length of absence that Ryan is going to have.”

Co-promoter Trevor Swales said: “It is a massive blow for Ryan to learn his season is virtually over and he will be a big loss to the club. 16. If '25yearfan' refers to your time supporting Peterborough you will know only too well that consistent Friday nights at the Showground are simply not available any more - the move away from Fridays over the years has certainly not been by choice for any promotion. Had Panthers regular race-night been a Friday then the team-building would clearly have taken on a different complexion but it's frankly laughable to suggest that we deliberately avoided Fridays to accommodate Ryan.
  17. The promotion held the gates closed until the referee declared the meeting would go ahead. As soon as the referee postponed the meeting the gates were closed. Peterborough are bringing in three Danes, a Czech and a Polish based rider. A call- off at that time incurs pretty much all the fixed costs except the riders pay, and mileage for both sides. You honestly think we postponed willingly or hastily? I understand for you Chris, and maybe others, this is an opportunity to have a dig at Mick, but I suggest you bear in mind that neither Mick nor I are Promoters at Peterborough and have no influence over decisions such as tonight's, although had the meeting been at Coventry the timeline would have been exactly the same. The call-off tonight has cost a great deal of money, hard work and aggravation - like you all I'm a speedway fan and expected to be watching a cracking meeting in balmy weather, not to be at home typing this and worrying about when the meeting can be restaged. I repeat, if any of you think this meeting was called of with pre-meditation you are 100% wrong. Feel free to contact me off-list should you wish to do so - info@peterboroughpanthers.co
  18. Come out of the Showground and turn left , then almost immediately turn right to the A1 south.
