  1. If that's the case, what riders are available to replace the dropped riders that would improve the riders we have? I don't think Erik is available or I assume he would have been signed already.
  2. I don't disagree with anything been said previously about the track and team. However although slick, the outside was working, most of the Berwick riders rode the outside, Charles rode the outside, the rest of the team seemed to stick doggedly to the inside or mid track. Although not deserving of a win, Ben Barker fencing Charles stopped what could have been a 5-1 or at least a 4-2. Although the team was generally poor, Jonas, apart from one or two meetings, just isn't contributing. Just another couple of points from him would have made a big difference.
  3. Does anyone know if Charles is, or will be fit for the start of the season?
  4. The Ref said at the start of the meeting he would allow all 4 back whenever possible. As he did with Richard Lawson after he lifted coming out of the 2nd bend, which took him into Lewis Kerr and fell halfway down the back straight.
  5. A good all round performance with everybody chipping in. Especially pleased for young Luke Harrison, it seems the time Danny spent with him after last weeks meeting has paid dividends. Once again some great racing on a very well prepared track.
  6. We didn't lose (although it felt like it) we drew and Poole got the extra point. It was a great meeting, with both sides battling hard. But to battle hard, they had to have a good track to ride, Well done to Johnny and his team for producing an outstanding track despite the weather conditions.
  7. Each system has its merits, but the old system each team gets 1-3, 2-4 equally, (unless in the case of going 6 behind) the team manager can choose which gate his riders go off. Ht 15 would be as it is now.
  8. Perhaps they should go back to the old system where gates did alternate, and if a team was 6 points behind they got gate choice.
  9. He rode well at Redcar, outscored Complin, and Vissing. He's definitely a star of the future and worth sticking with. One other point, for a rider of his experience, Chris Harris seems to have a lot of retirements/ef's
  10. Interesting comment from Jason Edwards about ht 11 in his interview before the Glasgow match. He said ''I left the door slightly open and Steve Worrall went through it''
  11. Any win by The Bears would be welcome. But I think when we ride against the stronger teams, then it exposes our weaknesses. At least Glasgow doesn't have 4 former Bears in their team.
  12. Having never ridden I obviously have no first hand experience, but the rider on the inside didn't turn in late, he rode his line and was ahead going into the corner, there was room outside. In both cases, the outside ride was trying to clamp down on the inside rider when behind causing contact. The outside rider didn't have to turn right, just go a little wider. Obviously, my view is purely from a spectator's point of view.
  13. For me the refs in both incidents got it right, Rider on the inside ahead going into the corner, don't deviate from their lines, rider on the outside behind, and tries to drop it on the inside rider. Worrall went wide because Edwards clipped his bike.
  14. Ref got it right. I was standing on the 2nd bend, Worrall was ahead going into the corner, Edwards tried to drop it on him, but he was half a bike behind.
  15. Due to riders changing teams every year, it could be said for many teams. Redcar has 9 present and former riders in the line up
  16. Even reported on BBC News this morning, Belle Vue winning the title after 29 years.
  17. I thought that was the best racing I've seen at Sheffield. Both teams contributed to a great match over the 2 legs. As for the refs decisions, I thought Brennan was already on his way down, and his foot hit Ellis's dirt deflector as he put his foot down again. As for ht 11, I think it was a fair decision. Although Kurtz could have gone a little wider, but then he would have been passed so he took a calculated gamble and stayed tight. All in all, 2 good meetings. Well done Belle Vue.
  18. The meeting shouldn't be called null and void, the result should stand as in a league match called after ht.10. The losing team don't say '''We could have won this match'' then declare it null and void. The result stands. If as the rules say draw a ballot, then so be it, not the best solution, but that's in the rules. Or a fairer way would be to have a race off before practice at Cardiff, winner gets the wild card, the loser a reserve spot.
  19. Just goes to show, give the riders a good race track and they will do the rest. Good meeting, great racing.
  20. I thought Connor did well last night, once he got dialled in, 1+1 first 2 rides, 8 from his last 3.
  21. Great match, good racing, close racing, lots of passing. Well done to the Bears, everyone contributed. Great to see Jordon Jenkins getting stuck in. Was expecting It to be a closer match but Leicester had little back up to the heat leaders. I couldn't make the match due to a late finish at work, but watched the live stream which was excellent.
  22. Just been to the practice, Kyle was there working on his gating with Ty Proctor, (I think it was Ty), I've been to several practices and Kyle has been there getting laps in, working hard. If points were awarded for effort Kyle would have a bag full. I'm sure Kyle will come good.
  23. I hope Kyle does well, but I don't think he will strengthen the team. If they were going to drop Adam, they should have done it before the new averages kicked in. Could have fit Paul Stark in.
