  1. The PRO will come on and tell you it was as an indirect consequence of the track, as last week.
  2. Bet he's at Edinburgh tonight helping his brother.
  3. Pure buzzin. 0141 in, 0131 out. Wonder whose engine Louis will come out with this week Glasgow want measured.
  4. #pumped We shouldnt have been so worried. Track was well prepared so perhaps unsettled the visitors.
  5. Hopefully thats the case, he only scored a point in the league meeting at Ashfield and got nothing guesting for Newcastle when we won there a few weeks ago.
  6. Cant agree on extending the deadline or extending it by a week last time. Everyone knew what it was at the start, its up to them to achieve it, bearing in mind there have been so few fixtures to run this year compared to last, and during the best summer in 20 years.
  7. Unfortunately a rain off helps no one. That would leave only Saturday or Sunday but Poland may thwart that.
  8. The reserve changes look to be a game changer. Connor Mountain is out and Jordan Stewart replaces him. He was absolutely woeful when up with Redcar, I've already lost hope of getting any points out of him. Broc Nicol for the 0131 looks far more promising, he might take a heat to get going but I think he'll like it.
  9. With the expected transition to last until Dec 2020, it wont be until the 2021 season that this need be an issue. If we (UK speedway) are short of riders we can issue visas for the required amount. I would expect us to do some sort of reciprocal deal with Australia making it easier for them to come here, or perhaps allow Australians to arrive on a 3 like they used to. Like Sweden we dont have enough home grown riders to fill all our team slots and have to have a fair number of non UK riders to make it work. I doubt it will be a problem, just like Brexit, unless you want it to be.
  10. All in all it suggests lack of confidence, that in facing arguably the strongest opposition of the season they had to manipulate the track to ensure a close run meeting didnt happen. If the track staff got the grippy track right for the 3 home meetings prior to this one, it would suggest that last night didnt happen by accident.
  11. If it was as described Lakeside should have asked for a track inspection and demanded remedial work be undertaken.
  12. Stewmac should be thanked for his honesty. Win at all costs may have cost them 2 injuries, with Andersson problematic as a 4 pointer to find a guest replacement for, as we already know.
  13. Very true, in those circumstances there should be a mechanism to award the points to the away team. Hopefully Ipswich are just as soft next week but I doubt it.
  14. Louis will probably come out with the Berwick TM was on the phone to the ref about Kemp's engine. #deflectiontactics
  15. Nope, we didnt get rid of enough guys. Harris and Sarjeant should have gone too when Kerr got injured as we had some points to play with. Had Worrall continued with us in the same vein his average would have been heading to 7 or just below. Not good enough!
  16. Lots of things get said in the pits but the rider left with his engine. Perhaps a covenient distraction from Louis for another one that got away.
  17. Bit of sour grapes from Louis, always perceived him as being above that. Both sides offered gifts to each other with Vissing looking like he didnt turn on his fuel in the same heat Starke crashed out for a 0-5. All Ipswich fallers were self inflicted, starting to need two hands to count the number of times Mark Riss has binned it on 3&4 since he came over here. A more clinical side would have slaughtered us, but thats for next week. Thought Kemp was superb, reminded me of the Dan Bewley of 2016 when he first started, and nothing like the Dan Bewley that rode with us last season. Cant fathom out why we never used Cook as a tactical for Starke in ht9 when we had the chance, especially as we were never more than six behind again and were only a single point short of stopping Ipswich taking a league point.
  18. Almost all won be in the team but there are other priorities now.
  19. Having only won once away from home and against a very depleted team, I think its pretty safe to say we wont win at Ipswich. I have my doubts we will beat Ipswich on Tuesday or at least stop them getting a point and think we should ask the riders to work on their averages for next year.
  20. When riding against the 0131 he should always have a third bike available and tuned to GP standard. Seriously though why didnt he borrow a bike. If the first bike blew on warm up and the second was playing up, surely after 2 heats at most you abandon what hasnt been working and go to plan B.
  21. Infuriating when a rider misses the 2 minutes in their first ride but to then use the same misfiring bike heat after heat is unforgiveable. Well it is in this case!
  22. Wonder if Connor Mountain declined the booking? With Garcia turning it on in recent weeks and Kemp seemingly a decent prospect we need JT to be in amongst it from ht2. God help us with Sarjeant in the 1-5. Perhaps we could arrange a mechanic for Manzares to get the best out of him.
  23. Nope, its Sunday league football that in reality is a seasonal one day a week semi professional sport run by fans with a little bit of wealth who can run things but not improve them. A select few can also manipulate the rules to suit, are accountable to no one and operate in, it seems in secrecy.
