Ipswich Vs Rye House Thurs 12th May Koc 1st Leg
waco replied to Pob's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Enjoyed the Rockets performance..Kennet looking the best rider in this league ,,Robson looked a bit down on power but still got points and took off in heat 15 ,,, Heeps battled hard for his points despite an unfortunate exclusion ,,Ben Morley rode very well for his 8 paid 10 including a win over Risager..Lykke,s rode well for 4 points But Lanham just looks as if he is going through the motions..The least said about Karger the better could not even pass a rider who had fallen off,,Rockets must now be fancied to win at home on saturday and on aggregate .. -

Thats a bold statement Shads are you sure you would not like to re-consider it,??? -
Kent look to have the strongest team in the league at present ..Good chance of some team silver ware this season ..I am at Rye with Ben Morley and we only have a 4 man team at present with the same problems Kent had in the past 3 seasons..Still wish all at Kent a successfull year

Excellent job Gustix putting these press releases on here Regarding more dirt on the track yes for premier league matches,,More dirt in the national would mean even less chance of our bottom end completing 4 laps
-
I would imagine this kid could ride any track .His real tests will come when he is involved in battles with other riders who will be older and stronger than him, even so given time he has the makings of a top British rider in years to come...
-
Nice to see he has an experienced old pro The legendary Steve Lawson in his pit... I think this kid could be the next big thing for British Speedway
-
You were not even there so there really is no need for childish comments Junior Fan (Name suits you... )

Ben waited for Rob in heat 13 and let him go by to team ride home ,,He looked for him again in heat 15 but he was way behind Williamson and making little impression ,what is he supposed to do risk Williamson getting past himself ?
-
Highlite of an other wise processional and due to injury to McCauley Leek a dragged out meeting,,was the imergence of a highly talented 16 year old,Daniel Bewley,,this kid will be special in years to come and has Steve Lawson in his corner as well .Our top three did all they could and Hunter settled back in with a steady performence..Connor Lock when he tries to hard just can not turn the bike in to the corners and slides off,,throws away more points than he scores ,,we need a reserve that first of all can stay on the bike for 4 laps. The team will continue to struggle without strengthening the bottom end...Scores 44_46 .Hope McCauley makes a speedy recovery or though at the moment i do not know what his injuries are...

There does seem to be a conscientious of opinion that an earlier start would be preferable to many fans

Mind boggling rules killing speedway,,Which should be such a simple sport to run.....
-
You are right Alan it will be a problem, but then again how many if any would Banks have got..?
-
This looks tough for Raiders with Dan Bewley already looking heat leader class at reserve for Belle Vue probably getting 7 rides... No one doubts our top end will do the business,,,,but Williamson goes well round here and Payne is no slouch and i think it will be a win for Belle Vue Hope McCauley Leek continues his promising start ,,Hunter may need a meeting or two to get dialled in again just hope for some good racing

All very confusing if you ask me
-
But the rule you say is a good rule Ben91, says they cant do what your saying should happen ie, Branford for Karger?

Shads do you think Brian Karger may have had some thing to do with the decision being an ex world class rider himself ? -

I can see the point about incentive to sign a British rider but that's the only good thing I see about the assessed average rule for foreign riders.. -

How do they know they are going to make the grade until they sign them ..They dont ,they hope they will, and if it does not work out.they are lumbered -

How can it be a sensible rule not to be able to release a rider who is not doing the job he is employed to do..It would not happen in any other business..Theoretically it could reduce attendances to a point where that business becomes unsustainable...Now I'm not saying that would happen at Rye and the management obviously hope given time there will be an improvement.. -

I think many would like to see Rob in the Rockets..unfortunately you can not release a rider on an assessed average under the rules.so for the time being that is the way it is..Who makes these stupid rules most of which seem to be killing off the sport ? -

Bit of a scrappy meeting,,problems at the tapes for riders,,loads of fallers,Connor Lock after a trap to line win spent most of the rest of the evening sitting on the shale, some corners he has difficulty turning in..Harvey Banks is just slow.,,,,However Macauly Leek can gate quite well battles ,is quicker than Lock or Banks, and is the one that should be persevered with in my opinion,,Ben Morley an immaculate 15 point max,,Rob Branford to with his exciting style did the business with a paid max 13 plus 2""Solid back up from skipper Luke Priest,,,the points scored by Leek my man of the match contributed to this moral boosting victory over Stoke,,with the tapes malfunctioning the last two races were started on the green light..wrapped up by Morley and Branford ,before the heavens finally opened,,Success all round who would have thought it at the start of the day,,..? -

Good meeting with some cracking races..Kennet head and shoulders above the rest ,Morley 7plus2 doing the scoring required from the bottom end of the team,,Robson seemed to be down on power but still scored good points,,Heeps, inconsistent,,Can be good especially off the outside gates,,,Lanham.. should do better and ,will need to Show a bit more determination in the future,,Lykke showed flashes of what he is capable of tonight it could be the turning point for him...45 point draw about the right result,,but there will be stronger visitors than this...Still think we could be stronger with one or two changes....Nice to meet fellow Rye poster Alan Jones tonight,,there is mutual respect for our opinions on the site...The track was ultra slick first time I have seen a big blue groove this season,.decent crowd.?. ref Chris(burn your clutches out boys)Gay 'had a reasonable day by his standards...Rain nothing much till the end of the Raiders match,,so I guess they got it wrong by nearly 3 hours....
