The train station isn't far from the stadium, I'd say allow about 10-15 minute walk. As the meeting now starts at 5pm you should have plenty of time to watch all the heats and catch the train. The meeting usually lasts about 3 hours or so. -

It makes me laugh that so much emphasis is on the tipping of Nicki's head! That's just his way of reacting to a lift, he wasn't "out of control" he controlled the lift perfectly, got it down and into the corner tight. He made contact with Harris and Harris thought about what to do, and decided it was worth trying for a re-run. As the kids on the street say, it was blates! -

I wish I could find that GP race a couple of seasons ago where, as Tatum said, "Harris just jumped off the back of the modorcycle". It was an almost carbon copy of last night. -

Are you a drama teacher? Talk about extreme.. He wasn't going anywhere near the fence until he jumped. It's a clear case of gamesmanship. The delay said it all. He got a knock and at first his instinct was to stay on and fight it out, then a snap decision told him to fall. Nothing to do with life or death. -

I know very few agree with me but Harris jumped off. Had he have straightened up I could understand it but he was sideways, no where near the fence, Crump was behind him so no reason to get off other than to force a rerun in the hope nicki would be excluded. I've seen him do it before for no reason. Nicki did the same in the next rerun so has no justification in waving his remaining fingers. Harris was playing him at his own game. Crump was the victim in it all but thankfully he wasn't injured and won the race eventually. Justice was done all round. -

Yes you can buy them right up until start time, just outside the main entrance.. the later you buy the cheaper they become. -

Very impressed with Jensen. Seems to have a good head on him and very smooth style for his age. Certainly not outclassed at the highest level. All credit to him. -

I noticed he seems to have gone backwards since joining EL. Coincidence maybe? Good to see Holder becoming a real player this year but I have to admire the 40+ riders. I don't think speedway has ever had 2 riders in their 40s at the top of the tree before in the same year. In the old days 35 was considered old at any level! -

Correctamondo. It's not the first time Harris has jumped off the bike for no reason. -

It was, but the referee was spot on in both decisions. As for people saying "anywhere else Nicki would have been excluded" well that theory went out of the window in the rerun. Good consistent reffing. -

Maybe the Holtanator. -
This is something I've said for years. People look on the old days with rose tinted glasses and see clips from yesteryear on you tube and wish it was the same standard today. But these are just the highlights and if you watch 99% of meetings from any era from start to finish there are just as many processional races as there are now. 1981 is over rated. I think the two Bradford World Finals were better quality.

Why he believes that I will never know. But the Danes are renowned for liking slick tracks.. Just ask Gary Havelock! On the flip side of that, I know riders who say that if the track is deep it makes the racing worse as only a few will be able to ride it and the gaps in the racing get bigger. but of course, we are meant to be talking about the best 15 riders in the world and realistically, they should all be able to ride a grippy track. I do concur with a lot that Philip Rising says, however and I think that this year thus far, Prague was as expected (still not good enough though), Gothenburg fell victim to the weather and Leszno, a proven GP track, was prepared in caution to the silencers, probably at the request of the Polish riders. We will see a major improvement I'm sure.

Yes. Dave Lanning on his own or with Johnno or Floppy Norris please. Without doubt, the worst rider I ever heard in a commentary box was Jan Andersson with Clive Fisher for the 1990 World Final. Even Clive sounded like giving up with him a few times. Hang on though, I just remembered Sean Wilson!

That was Steve Brandon who said that to Greg. I wasn't sure if it was deliberate or not.

The only problem with having a second GP here, more so if held at somewhere like Wembley or Olympic Stadium, is that I think the numbers for Cardiff would drop by a good 10,000. At the moment Cardiff is the big one everyone looks forward to and I think that would take the edge off it, particularly as making a weekend of it is so expensive. If it was held at Coventry or Peterborough, etc. the impact on Cardiff would be a lot less but would still affect it by maybe 3,000 or so.

Sheffield would make a great GP racing wise although don't they have the same problem as Wolves with no back straight viewing? It's been a while since I was there. Peterborough was a great SWC a couple of years ago and could be good for a GP. Coventry has the stadium but the track may let it down.
