  1. I think the last part of your post says it all loyal, there is plenty of drinking time before the meeting and this is when the idiots get tanked up. If people turn up drunk then they should not be allowed entry, no matter how much they paid for tickets.
  2. It's funny you mention the engines iris. I too was watching last night and jokingly thinking to myself that Emil looked slower after the engine furore and wondered if the conspiracy theorists would be accusing JC of the same!
  3. Yes the riders will take the blame but I don't feel they should. Those guys are pumped with adrenalin and occasionally it will spill over. Yes it's wrong to get to the point of trading blows and they should be dealt with accordingly. For the 'fans' to use it as an excuse to fight is pathetic and the very vast majority of fans did not. As pointed out by another poster, the people involved were boozed up and that was the real reason these idiots started trouble. To try and put speedway fans into the football fans catagory is unrealistic in the extreme. I go to both and can honestly say I have never ever felt threatened at a speedway meeting but regularly so at football. I'm not in favour of an alcohol ban in the stadium because those fans who do genuinly enjoy a pint will be victimised. If there was one I'm not sure it would have a bearing on the financial side of the GP as I think those profits go to the stadium. If fans turn up drunk then they should not be allowed entry.
  4. I think you may need to watch it again icicle. As Star Lady points out, Emil was making an issue of it and Scott was more or less brushing him off and probably telling him where to go. As they approached the open gate, Emil wouldn't lett Scott turn in and ran both of them into the fence which is when Scott lost his cool and you can hardly blame him. As for the incident causing crowd trouble, well I would say the fight probably had more to do with alcohol than the riders.
  5. Have to agree with you there DK, good post.
  6. Thought it was a fairly decent GP tonight. Crumpy is back to the top of his game at the moment, he's riding and conducting himself like a Champion and I hope he goes all the way. Referee was poor again unfortunately. Hans was very astute in going down as he knew he'd messed up and knew there was a good chance Harris would be excluded. I don't blame him though, he did what he had to do and it's up to the officials to see through things like that. As for excluding Pedersen shortly after, well thats the worst decision I've seen since last year at Cardiff (Bjarne & Adams). As for the scrap, I feel a fine is sufficient for both with maybe a suspended ban pending any further agro. Maybe they should be made to apologise publicly. I think it's great to see fresh talent like Emil lighting up the GP series but he needs to learn that he can't throw his toys out of his pram when things don't go his way. Scott was hard but was certainly fair. Emil was aslo was lucky not to get a right hook from Pedersen in Denmark. Such a shame to see Adams struggling so badly. He is a classy rider and it's hard to figure out what has happened but I hope he can get it sorted soon. As for Charlie, she is doing alright. She's enthusiastic, she's got a pleasant manner, she seems to enjoy the job and let's face it, she is much nicer to look at than Chris Loius!
  7. Blimey, I didn't know Alan Carr watched Speedway! (pic 10) The guys in pic 16 heard that Nicki.P was on his way to the referees box!
  8. Touche! To give Scotland a fighting chance, I would choose the following: 1: Leigh Lanham 2: Joe Screen 3: Dave Norris (capt) 4: Gary Havelock 5: Paul Hurry
  9. I wish they would allow it, at least we wouldn't be the whipping boys anymore
  10. To be fair Grachan, Snyper isn't really showing prejudice as he's entitled to support whoever he likes. He's made it clear on many occasions that he considers himself a Scot and not a Brit which is fair enough. As Scotland don't have any riders capable of making a decent National side of their own, or any capable of making the British squad, he's free to support whoever.
  11. In a way it is a shame that there isn't a team England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland. If we were drawn in the same group England would romp to an easy victory and head straight for the final.
  12. Has Rob Lyon farted? Bomber looks like he's got a sniff of something nasty!
  13. Just to let you know, my comment about correcting spelling/grammar was not directed at you matey. You keep posting how you want.

  14. Thanks for running the competition Ballinger, makes an otherwise flat GP series a lot more interesting! I'd like to make two changes please: Adams - 45k out with Hancock 45k in and also Nicholls - 35k out with Holta - 30k in. New team should read: Crump Sayfutdinov Jonsson Hancock Holta Thanks again.
  15. I'd like to keep Crump as my captain please. Thanks.
  16. I'm not going to accuse you of putting the boot in pantostar. I've got no problem with peoples opinions of the WC squad and yours looks like a good one by the way. All you've done is tell the truth. His form is poor and you feel he should be left out, fine, you've made a valid point without feeling the need to make nasty remarks, which no one can have a problem with.
  17. Glad you're still posting Rob, I thought the forum had lost a good member.

  18. I'd like to keep Jason Crump as captain please. Many thanks.
  19. Sorry to hear about you're miserable time Frank, hope you get sorted without too much hassle. Great post. It gives a good insight into the kind of person he is. It must hurt when people you hope are behind you are slaughtering you at every opportunity. I really hope he can turn his season around, not to prove the knockers wrong but to give the guy some reward for his efforts. Unfortunately there will always be those who stick the boot in, usually the glory hunters. Must be that 'British disease'.
  20. I'm talking about the guys who are calling him an embarrassment or finished or whatever. I just don't think it's necessary. As I said earlier, I've no problem with people having the opinion he's not GP standard and if people want to speculate about the reasons for his form then fine, that's the point of a forum. I just don't think it's right when people have to go OTT and have personal digs, they wouldn't do it to his face.
  21. Why should he? It's his choice, he doesn't owe anyone anything. When did he ever say " I don't need EL Speedway "? I don't remember seeing/hearing this anywhere.
  22. Does that give people the right to be verbally abusive about him? Not in my opinion.
  23. I don't think it really matters does it Blaze? Only he knows what a sucessful season will be for him and as for proving himself, he doesn't need to prove himself to you or me. Let's face it, no matter what he does, some people will jump on every miserable time that he has because some like having a pop at easy targets. Very brave.
  24. I feel for Scott as the guy has made a genuine attempt to better himself. He's had an awful start to the season and inevitably people are going to use missing the Elite as the reason. The guy's confidence is obviously shot to pieces and I would say he is probably feeling quite low at the moment. I think it says a lot about the character of the man that he is willing to keep fighting and not take the easy route out by quitting. Unfortunately, there seems to be a few people who want to wallow in his misery and want him to fail so they can say I told you so. In other words, kicking him whilst he's down. This is not an "I love Scotty" post, to be honest I don't really have a favourite rider. I would feel sorry for anybody who has made attempts to better themselves, their career or family life and have it go wrong. My instinct is to help people when they are down, not be cowardly and stick the boot in. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you believe Scott is not good enough for the GP's, fine, say so by all means, but why the unecessary remarks like - he's an embarrassment, I was embarrassed to watch him etc. He's the one going through the turmoil and feeling the pain, not to mention the expense, so to make those kind of remarks says more about the person making them than it does Scott. On a different thread, I said I felt Bomber wasn't up to GP standard. I didn't however, make any nasty or spiteful remarks about him. I would love to be wrong! I'd quite happily come back on here and admit I was wrong! I certainly won't come on here if he has a bad meeting to gloat. I keep seeing remarks such as - he shouldn't be in the WC squad, he shouldn't be captian, he shouldn't be allowed to compete in the British Champs etc - but I haven't seen a single reason as to why! I've seen "he's turned his back on Britain" spouted a few times but I cannot understand what that is supposed to mean. Do people think he owes us all something? Every one of us has the freedom to choose our career path and if any of us want to better ourselves or be with our families more or whatever, we can do so. Please someone explain why he should be any different because I cannot understand why.
