  1. If one has to be chosen for commercial reasons, which is wrong in my opinion, then I'd let Tai have a go. I feel he is more likely to do well than our other youngsters as he does not seem to have the mental barriers that the likes of Kennett and Bridger have and I believe is more talented. If for some strange reason they decide to pick two, then its take your pick from Richardson, Kennett or Bridger to join Tai.
  2. I'd like to stick wit the team I have and keep Crump as captain please. Thanks.
  3. Hmmm..........kind of reminds of a song tocha..............."i got 21 seconds to go, i got 21 seconds to go............."
  4. Unbelievable that such a big deal can be made out of this, but then agian I suppose I shouldn't be that suprised! So the young lad who grew up in Australia, has an Aussie accent, a tattoo he's had since he was about 16 chose to help out some Aussie mates. Big bloody deal. He was born in Britain, to British parents I assume? I know he's lived in Oz nearly all his life and probably considers himself a bit of both, but at the end of the day he chose to ride for GB, thats all that matters. He said that he chose Britain because although he loves Australia, he still feel British. That says enough for me. There are plenty of Brits who go to GP's to support non Brit riders. Does this mean they should be lambasted in a similar way?
  5. I thouroughly enjoyed the World Cup, including the long long final! Huge credit to the track staff for keeping the meeting going and to the Sky team for filling for so long. Having said that, after sitting through hours of entertaining Speedway, I ended up feeling cheated by the stupid joker. The best team finished second and Speedway looks amateurish because of it.
  6. Congratulations to the Pearsons, hope all is well with Mum and baby. Imagine if she had quadruplets, Nige could have commentated and used the famous line "and dissapointment at the back for......" Team all did well today, but theres always room for Nigel, hope to hear him back soon. P.S. Kelvin definately sounded like he'd been on the lash Saturday night!

  8. Really iris!? Do you not think the GP's have been a huge let down in terms of entertainment? One or two decent tracks doesn't cut it for me, GP's should be staged on quality race tracks every time. From what I've been told, Ole wasn't overly pleased with Buster on Monday and was on the radio regularly to try and stop Buster doing it his way. I can't say that is fact as I wasn't there or part of the conversations, but I'm told that at times, Ole looked furious.
  9. Valid yes, but on existing threads. As you say, 70 replies and most disagree, kind of proves your viewpoint is quite negative. I'm not saying you have to like Charlie or Scott, but is it really necessary to start new threads to have a go at them? There are several threads where you can do that already, or in Scotts case, just about every thread on here. It wouldn't suprise me if people were having a go at him on the Classic Speedway threads!
  10. No, not all of us. Some do, it gives them a chance to say I told you so.
  11. Speedwayleics, tonight was another exciting World Cup meeting with plenty of good racing, good perfofmances from some of the Brits, bizzarre incidents and yet somehow you manage to start two negative and frankly poor threads regarding subjects that have been done to death already. It just seems that no matter what happens, some cannot help themselves when it comes to having a moan.
  12. Yep, welcome aboard Ando! As KEITH M has just pointed out, you will soon get to see who the whingers are! Normally whinge about trivial stuff like what commentators say, what the pit girl is like, pointing out spelling/grammar mistakes or having a go at Scott Nicholls for any number of reasons. Also expect to see plenty of banter or vitriol about Britain! Other than that, enjoy yourself!
  13. Oh I think they would orion. There are quite a few on the forum that pretend they don't care about him, but yet watch him with intensity to see if there anything they can use to have a go.
  14. I have to agree with iris, I only heard foriegn riders refer to Britain as England. Not saying that is fact but then I wasn't sitting there deliberatly listening for it.
  15. The old turned his back chestnut! Firstly, he didn't turn his back. His reasons were made perfectly clear, it's just the Nicholls bashers chose not to believe them. He throws tantrums, so what!? Him and dozens of other riders get the hump when things are going badly. Everyone does at some time surely? Don't see the big deal there. He shouldn't have got into the fight, but there were two people, more in fact, who were involved. It wouldn't even have started had Emil not kept on about it, there wasn't even an issue. It was hard, fair riding. As you said, seemingly a no show. In other words, you don't know the reason.
  16. I think that was more of a 'thing' against Poole at the time to be honest. My point Grachan is that some people are only concentrating on Scott because they don't like him, no other reason. If he had been there, I'm quite sure that some would have said he shouldn't be there, that he should let Bomber get on with the Captains job, that he shouldn't be offering advice when he can't win himself, that he's having a bad effect on morale etc etc.
  17. I didn't see Joe Screen there either but I don't see anyone mentioning that. I wonder why? The only people whinging about Scott not being there are the ones who can't stop slagging him off. If he was there he would have come in for some kind of stick because those who don't like him would have just posted some negative crap about why he shouldn't have been there. There are a number of possiblitys as to why he wasn't there. Until we know the reason, no-one should presume to know everything about it and slate him. The simple fact is none of us know, so how can we say he was right or wrong?
  18. Absolutely spook, it is the British disease isn't it?
  19. Fair enough if thats what you think of him but I can't say I've seen it. Met/seen him a few times. Always been polite, had time to say a few words to people, be nice to the kids etc. Not been any different to any other rider in the pits. To be honest, theres been others who haven't been so nice but I'm not going to name them, maybe they were having a bad day, I can't say for sure because I don't know them. I just think people read too much into every action. Once people get a thing about someone, they tend to jump on everything and see it only one way, a bit like the ones that laid the blame of the Cardiif punch up squarely at his feet. I saw a post on here a while back now, can't remember who it was but they described an incident that happened after a GP. Apparently someone had been robbed and lost pretty much everything. Scott, after having another nightmare GP, stopped at the hotel to see if there was anything he could do to help the guy. Not too bad an attitude shown there. As I say, I'm not a Scotty fan, I've posted on other threads that I feel leaving him out of the GB squad was the right thing to do and I wouldn't bring him in for the Polish rounds either.
  20. No I'm not a Scotty fan, I don't have a particular favourite to be honest, just riders I like to watch. I'm only sticking up for him because I think he gets a lot of uncalled for stick. I would do the same no matter what rider was involved. I just find it odd that people can make judgements about people they know nothing about. I understand that not everyone likes everyone, there are riders that I'm not mad about but I don't look for every excuse I can to have a dig and I give them credit when it's due. Yes I've seen Scott get the hump or spit his dummy out as you say, but I've also seen a lot of other riders do it. I don't think theres anything unusual about that though, we all get frustrated when things go wrong, I know I've spat mine out occasionally! I've seen Greg the grin spit his out!
