Slightly off topic, but I remember years ago watching Thomasz Gollob at Wolverhampton when he was racing for Ipswich - he came out of turn 2 for the first time at the back and was so angry by it that he yanked his cutout off and walked back to the pits, left his bike on the center green. Was magnificent to watch 😆

I was at the FGA meeting at Buxton Saturday and there were revi bikes there then - I've never seen them in action before and I must say it was borderline creepy seeing bikes go round where you could hear the steel shoe scraping on the shale. That said though, it was nice to be able to hold a regular conversation and not have to shout 😆

Personally I'm very conflicted by Garrity being there. I'm an avid supporter of the club (I designed their bulls logo) and I'm over the moon that they're back as they're now my local track - I was there Saturday for the FGA meeting (great day, sunburnt to hell) but having an ex-convict ride there with the crimes he committed doesn't sit well with me. I'd have a stronger opinion if he was handed a team place - hopefully this is just a one off.

Absolutely fair enough!

I know hindsight is 20/20 but Kemp should have been signed long before they even considered Cookie. No disrespect at all because it's obvious that Cook definitely still has what it takes, but his ability to just disappear when needed is just not good enough as a professional rider. I feel it's the end of his career now - not because he can't do it, but no promoter will risk it any more. A massive shame when you consider that not too long ago he was the 2nd best british rider we had.

Just call me mystic Meg. If anyone needs any other predictions for the rest of the season I take bank transfer, PayPal and cash in hand 😂

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole personally. Very injury prone, and his request to have a holiday mid-season whilst at Sheffield has put a sour taste in my mouth.

I feel like both nights were the opposite to each other personally. Friday started off electric and gradually weakened until it finished, whereas Saturday started slower and ramped up to an epic final. If I were given the choice I would choose Saturday as a brilliant final leaves a better taste in the mouth.

I wouldn't imagine anything. He most likely left because there wasn't a guarantee the Witches would come to tapes in 2026 at the time. Personally if I was a witches fan I'd be happy to see my old number one back in the UK regardless of who it was for

I remember hearing Kelvin say at the GP over the weekend that Doyley wouldn't mind coming back to the premiership - he's obvioiusly not going to be a direct replacement for Bewley but he does like the NSS, and he's an aussie so would fit in quite well with the team / management. No idea on whether his average fits, I would assume so. Might even free up some room to replace another rider who's not performing as well as expected.

Jamie is taking a break from the sport apparently. Big lack of confidence. Hope he comes back to the sport in his own time.

I should have put this in the video in hindsight, but in the closeup you can see Harrison off the throttle with his left foot down trying to slow down as well.

Thought I'd put something together just to add a touch more context to the incident. Not passing any opinions - just thought it might help add to some conversations regarding it. It shows racing lines and a closeup which shows an apparent "left turn" which some think didn't happen. Edited video

My instant thought was "is Christina Turnbull the ref" and it's becoming pathetic how that's a common question in my head now.
-
I just said to my dad about that. A decent referee would have thrown him out the meeting and sought a hefty fine for outright dangerous riding. I do want him to do well but that's abhorrent behaviour. I hope Harrison and Scott are OK 🤞

Just seen the crash on social media as I'm not watching it live but that's an absolutely appalling move from Rushen. He was absolutely aware of Harrisons presence and made an obvious and intentional move to ride right down the middle of the track to block the move - WAY off the racing line. I know he's a young lad and obviously a massive talent but that kind of frankly dangerous riding deserves some kind of actual and considerable punishment. He can't continue knowing he can get away with something like that. At one point Harrisons head is almost 180 degrees in the opposite direction, he's lucky he's not dead.

Thank you for your efforts, however with just over 2 hours to go until it was supposed to start I don't think it will happen personally. -
This is national league racing for you - it's the lowest rung of the sport and a place for youngsters to earn their stripes and hone their skills. Back when I was a rider in the early 2000s you'd be hard pressed to run 15 races without some form of incident - St John's certainly earned their money back then and most likely still do! I've witnessed some truly horrifying crashes with being at so many (back then) conference league meetings. It's a part of the sport that not that many get to see, and it can come across as a bit unprofessional to those who are used to watching the professionals, but we've all got to learn somewhere! I bet even BZ was a little ropey when he first threw his leg over a 500!

I was there too, over the moon that it's back. Probably the healthiest crowd I've ever seen which was lovely to see. It was bitterly cold though with a relentless freezing wind that just didn't give up. Me and my dad had to leave after heat 12 because the cold won, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to go back for more. For those who are already moaning about it or have negative comments to make, please keep them to yourselves. The people that have poured their hearts and souls into brining Buxton back from the dead would be hurt to see this, and we should be supporting new tracks coming into the sport, no matter what your opinions are.
