  1. I've always had a problem with seeding riders in because there is a lack of a particular nation in the GPs. I can see why it's done, don't get me wrong, but I would much rather have a field of exceptional riders regardless of how many there are from a particular nation, than a balanced field with sub-par riders involved. Plus it would go a long way to show which countries are lacking in top level riders and should (hopefully) give that nation the kick it needs to sort it out
  2. I love Davey Watt, but he has no place in the GPs. We don't need older riders coming in that won't improve the quality. I'd prefer a Darcy Ward or a Martin Vaculik any day over a +30 year old rider.
  3. That's crazy. How much Red Bull has he been drinking?
  4. Don't get me wrong, I still hate the rule, but if it has to stay then surely make it so the losing team can't make back the whole deficit in one race. Make them work slightly harder for it!
  5. I've said it before and I'll say it again, make sure the losing team is 8 or 10 points behind before they can use the joker. That way they can't (potentially) pull back the entire deficit in 1 race!
  6. This just in, Major TV manufacturers admit removing the mute button from remote controls was a bad move
  7. OK then, lets go slightly off topic... IF there were to be a scottish, irish or welsh rider in the WC, who is most likely to get there?
  8. A quality point was made by David Howe over twitter - he said that the Joker shouldn't be allowed unless you are 8 points behind - that way you can't pull back the entire deficit in 1 race.
  9. It seems that it is impossible for some people to be satisfied - my point wasn't aimed at the lack of patriotism, as this country seems to only have that whenever something like this is in town (football included) I was merely making a point that if you don't like what is provided, don't watch it.
  10. And why do you like speedway again? The likes of you are more suited to football thanks
  11. A few riders have started using them new - I believe I've heard of Batchelor, K Bjerre, Harris and Bunyan using them now. There is a simple lanyard attachment that comes from around the riders stomach attaches to the frame and when this is pulled the jacket inflates around the chest, back and coccyx. I do believe that they're quite difficult to prepare after they've gone off though, hence why Harris didn't reattach his jacket to his bike after the first time it went off.
  12. I'd love to see this, but I can't see them fitting a crowd there like we saw at KL last night. It won't go there for that specific reason.
  13. It wasn't until a 2nd viewing that told me how good heat 20 was - amazing race! I think the final 4 races tonight should be just as good, providing the weather holds up.
  14. It'd be interesting to know how the track was for practice. Anybody on here know? Fingers crossed for oodles of grip like the old PL days.
  15. It shall be run tuesday night instead. if that is called off I don't know! You can bet that (with the current forecast) we will see track covers for the first time on TV in the UK for it.
  16. Going off topic from the GP somewhat but here's my view on the British final: I'm still perplexed as to why this is never on a neutral track that doesn't feature in the elite league. We all know how good Sheffield's facilities have come on, and it's a huge track so naturally can hold more spectators. Even Berwick have proved how they can handle the big meetings - why pick a track where the home track advantage is so strong? edit (further point): Even somewhere like Birmingham wouldn't be too bad. Good facilities and relatively new in the EL so it won't provide too much support to home riders. Plus I've heard it's a relatively neutral track anyway in regards to giving home riders the edge over visitors.
  17. It would be interesting to have a facility where there is a reserve on standby who can take rides if a team is below a certain point. Unless this is a rule already?!
  18. Auty, Barker, Roynon, Daniel Greenwood and Tom Perry all came from grasstrack backgrounds.
  19. Now that certainly made a few people eat their words!
  20. there's 5 riders for Denmark - who is to be left out of event 1 then?
  21. Without banging the drum too much on how much better the GP system is compared to the old one off world finals, at the last GP Freddie Lindgren (had it be a one off) would now be world champion, but we know on a consistency basis, he's really not that special! Again this proves the theory that the GP series is better!
