Prem League Entrance Fee
YAMYAMBANDIT replied to scaramanga's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Berwick is the same as you £14 plus £2 for programme -
No, you just write in smaller letters, so you can't see how much your hand is shaking
-
He hadn't signed beginning of October, but I would imagine he will
-
Just checking your eyesight, for an old fart like me it clearly legible Is that better.

You can place a bet on that most Promoters will be looking for cost cutting measures, instead of finding ways to improve the product. Cost cutting is a spiral downwards, speculate to accumulate is the answer.

I always look at a sponsor as a bonus, the icing on the cake. If you can run the club on a break even basis at least, then sponsorship should provide that little bit extra, another bonus is a supporters club adding to the pot, but should not be there for the purpose of balancing the books, it's there to help riders when they run into trouble or those unexpected things that happen beyond the normal running of the club.. Peter Waite ran the 1st two or 3 years with no sponsors, some of the others were only a name on paper no real money, Kirkland carpets and 3 Mobile spring to mind.

Not there to listen to music, but a quick turn over of racing , the minute race is over 2 min and next race, this would allow more time for 2nd half, excluding accidents of course. Curfew at Shielfield is a big problem, but more efficient running of meetings by the referee should be achievable.

Just had a look at my team Kracma could be at 2 or 4 aswell in my line up

I am one of those who don't like the double up rules, you either ride EL or PL or NL. There is a case to allow a NL rider to double up at reserve in the PL, or a PL rider to double at reserve in the EL, but certainly not be riding in all 3 leagues. He would not be at No1, 3 0r 5, he comes on a 7 point ave. If you remember I had Barker at No1
-
Jensen was a good reserve, struggled heavily at certain tracks, see no improvement in him after that. Kus is a handy heat leader, you might see a small increase in him perhaps 0.5/ 1.0 +.. Thats why I suggested Eduard Kracma, an exciting young rider with bags of potential. Like you said riders like Doolan and Wethers, thouroughly nice guys, but they are what they are, and because of that I would not have signed them for 2014 never mind 2015.

Not neccesarily, I think most fans want to be entertained, good close racing, on a well prepared track, I don't think Berwick fans can be so shallow, that winning is the only way. I certainly don't mind losing to a better team on the night, as long as our riders have ridden their back sides off trying.

Yes, in a 26 week period April to Sept, allowing October for any rain offs, 24 home matches and 24 away matches, leaves you with 2 weeks spare and October. Just reminding you what you said Upturn, ask the ordinary working guy who on average is £2,000 worse off per year since 2010. Main problem the minimum wage has become the normal wage, especially in retail. Bring on a 'Living Wage' of £10 per hour. To be fare to Berwick Speedway they have kept the price at £14, which is well below the average, maybe that is a mistake, as keeping the price down has not increased the gate, which as Heppy said some weeks only 400/500 attending.
-
For me, forget all the League cups & knockout trophys, start the season on the 1st April and meet each other twice home& away. We the fans will get a meeting every week then, it has to be a better system financially for the clubs. You said you would quite happily pay £20 to go into speedway, think you are being a bit selective with your memory Scott
-
A CUP FOR THE LEAGUE. Start the league on 1st April, meet each other home & away twice in the season, THE TEAM WITH THE MOST POINTS, WINS THE CUP
-
Could not agree more, for the last 2 or 3 seasons, we seem to have far too many gaps between meetings. When you get out of the habit of turning up week after week, you realise there are other things to do aswell, you get out of the habit.

Strange thing this season for me, I havn't felt a buzz, generally a bit lack lustre when it comes to excitement, Certainly the track was greatly improved in the latter part of the season, but it's still only half way there. So sorry to disagree, I didn't get that excitement, that I certainly had from 2001 to 2008/9. Like you I do hope the club can sort it out, but it does show if the business model doesnt balance the books, relying on the generosity of busnessmen in the form of sponsorship cannot be relied on. Although the Government claims every thing is rosy out there, ask the average business, it really isn't. Apart from the satisfaction of supporting your club, it is unlikely at the level we ride at, that sponsorship would be of any advantage to your business.
-
AH! 'The Good Old Days' Arn't memories a wonderful thing, pity when you look at the reality they were rarely that. Stop looking at the world in Black & White, it's ,much better in Colour
-
Yes, but Roynon has made a career of falling off Relatively common knowledge around Berwick, don't know the details though. It was a strange sponsorship, based on New Holland itself and six of their individual outlets, one of which was in The Orkneys. Things are tight out there in the real world, in those situations businesses look after themselves first, not propping up another business. I am not condoning it, if you commit to something, you should stick to your commitment, but as I said don't no the details.
-
Not bad, wouldn't have Roynan in though, too much of a liability.
-
Thought the 'Forum Police' had got you
-
Don't have a problem with a 9 pointer being in the PL, but they should not be in the EL aswell
-
The big question is, should the top 8 riders in the PL be there at all, or should any rider ovet a 9 point ave. be in the EL only.
-
Not expensive, certainly not cheap.
