  1. Like yourself, Colin often tells others to contribute without doing it himself. In that area, I have no guilt whatsoever. As you have so much involvement, here's a suggestion, go out and get sponsorship for every rider to the value of their point money, that should take the pressure off the club of between £4k & £5k per meeting, eliminating the cost of the wages bill for the club of their own riders, leaving them with only the cost of the visitors about £25 per point.
  2. You know, I have only ever backed riders, doing that should take the pressure off the club. I have not, and never will back another business directly, I will gamble on an investment to make money, never, never on a money pit. It's a straight forward business decision, I run a business to support myself, not to prop up someone elses business. My duty as a fan is to attend every meeting, no more. Well said my little beauty, hows LITTLE LEN.
  3. I know it's not Berwick 2015, but at least it's interesting. even engaging.
  4. So was that the year before Berwick started at Berrington.
  5. You can take the sheep out of Wales, you will never keep a Welshman out of the sheep
  6. So was it about 94 when Berwick rode in Barrow
  7. THANK YOU, see we got there in the end. I was really interested in knowing, as it was before I got interested in Speedway. Thanks again
  8. Almost there, was Berwick in that 3rd tier of speedway at any time, and when. I am asking, as I am genuinely interested.
  9. Ban mint sauce, save our sheep. I am realy feeling homesick all this talk of sheep
  10. So I presume it was one single league. The original statement was Berwick were in the Conference League has that ever been the case.
  11. Don't want to sound thicker than I am,but, was there a problem at that time and everything merged into one league. Going back to the question, was Berwick ever in the Conference League, or the 3rd tier of speedway.
  12. Or would that be when Mike Hope brought speedway back to Shielfield from Berrington, I think it was about that time i started sponsoring David Meldrum. I didn't go to watch him, got copped by his dad in The Hen & Chickens, told him I wasn't watching someone going round in a circle 4 times, how things have changed.
  13. What League, was it when there were only 2 tiers, or were there 3 tiers and were in the bottom tier.
  14. Question? can you give details as I didn't know Berwick had been in The Conference League, I knew the rode in the top flight for a year then returned to the 2nd tier
  15. The reason I sponsored Liam Carr last season was because he was local, the reason I help through sponsorship young Leon Flint is because he is local. The reason I got involved with speedway in the first place was David Meldrum local lad. Although I have enjoyed sponsoring foreign riders, I will always favour the local lad, in fact this year they are the only ones I am sponsoring (2nd halfers)/
  16. For this to happen the Promotion need to engage with the fans especially the Supporters Club, these are the very people that make things happen. To dictate to someone without a sound explanation as to why gets up their noses, it's good to ask the fans what they can do to help, but certainly not tell them. it's also good to ask the fans what could be done to move forward, not just the few fans who will give you the answers you want to hear. Things like the 50/50 draw, although the club gave it to the supporters club, I bet you the club got it all back in some form, plus a lot more aswell from things that the Supporters club organised, and so it should be. These are good people who love their club and will go the extra mile to help it survive, so lets hope certain people arn't cutting off their nose to spite their face.
  17. Now in that area I am very experienced as a Welshman, although the Borders Folk are pretty experienced in this field, but not up to the 'Special Order of the Green Welly'( especially designed to put the sheeps back legs into)
  18. I wonder if it's now time to move on, replace the riders concerned, and get on with the 2015 season. I am also hoping that the Promoters have learnt a valuable lesson, learn the rules, intertprit them correctly and stick to the rules set down, as this year they have been caught seriously wanting.
  19. Dangerous move for any club wishing to control it's supporters, one of the main reasons if you are lucky enough to have a supporters club, it should be totally independant of the Promotion. I am certain in Berwicks case the supporters club will continue their work in supporting the club in any way that they feel fit.
