  1. Big eddie would be devastated if he were to be ignored, your lucky you only get him on here i have to stand next to him every saturday night
  2. Best meeting on Sky for ages, full credit to both teams involved
  3. i just knew you were going to come back with that one, it would certainly help with team riding
  4. well riders would have to share bikes in that instance, or maybe having 1 spare bike per team.
  5. I would go along with the standardised equipment idea, its one of the ways of cutting costs for riders which is much needed. If a rider like Micky Dyer can't make a living out of speedway last year then some others must have really struggled. The bikes are much faster now than in the 80s/90s but the racing is not any better or more exciting because of this imo. Maybe each team only being allowed to turn up with 7 bikes per meeting could be an option?
  6. Good signing if it turns out to be true, remember him riding for IOW at Berwick and he looked quick, going by his recent scores he shouldn't be at reserve very long.
  7. If we do go with Hansen & Carr it leaves only 3.85 for the final reserve, Facundo Albin & Filip Sitera would both fit, Sitera was awful at Glasgow 2 years ago but his results last year suggest he is more like the rider he used to be, Personally would rather see Alden & Piszcz as opposed to Hansen & an other
  8. 4 Berwick assets as well, if Piszcz could be tempted back thats a seriously strong team. No really strong number 1 but 6 potential head leaders, one of which will always be at reserve.
  9. you could also use Tomas Piszcz at reserve on a 5.10 converted from his last EL stint in 2012
  10. If Liam couldn't get time off for Midweek away meetings then could we not just use a 3.00 guest anyway?
  11. totally agree with this, he has shown in guest appearances for Edinburgh he is ready, if we cant give a local lad a chance now it's not giving much hope to the youngsters riding 2nd half that Berwick is the right place for them to be starting out. If we dont give him the no 7 jacket now we will end up regretting it in the future.
  12. Matej should do a job in the middle order, poor end to 2013 for him but like others have said has done well at ours in the past, definately take him before aspegren. 3 down 4 to go, would imagine wethers and carr are nailed on for 2 of them, leaves just over 12, do we go for a big hitting number 1 and a 3.00, or two 6 pointers?
  13. not doubting you but it says born 1995 on the website, if he is only 15 then he is one hell of a talent.
  14. If we are to go down the new rider route we could do a lot worse than Michael Hartel, 18 year old German who would come in on a 5.00, recently beat both pawlicki's in the German open http://speedwayresults.com/result.php?type=1395&season=2013
  15. Tero would do a goodjob at reserve, he would get his near 6 point average over the course of the season, there can be no arguement against that, however i wouldn't see him putting 1-2 points on his starting figure though, and with him at reserve as opposed to a 3.00 rider would mean having say a 6.00 rider in the main body as opposed to a 9.00. Its all a balancing act, going with 2 x 3.00 can work as long as they are good enough to improve and increase on their starting 3.00, imagine if both do what Lewis Kerr done for Newcastle last year?
  16. Robert Branford is going well in Australia at the moment, wouldn't mind having him back as he looked ok in his short spell with us. Would come in on a 3.00 so would leave plenty points for the top 5. Some might disagree but him and Carr would be ok at reserve, both should finish with 3+ averages so don't see it as a risk. Great to have kevin back too, will do a solid job and good team man.
  17. The way things are shaping up it could well be Doolan, Wethers, Bellego , Carr and 3 others. Would be happy with that as its a solid start, lots of possible permutations for the other 3. Doolan would be a very good captain too i reckon if we were to get him.
  18. Well with The announcements of other teams in last few days it is going to be a very different line up from 2013, looking at top end riders there are not many out there, new assets may well be best way to go, Is Brenton Barnfield still riding? maybe him & Berge would be the way forward. Looking at averages Chris Harris would be allowed to ride premier if his converted 6.82 Elite league average remains, making 11.59 in the premier. Highly unlikely but if he didn't do it this year he will surely averge over 7.00 in the EL ruling outthe possibility in future.
  19. i don't get the reservataions about carr & starke at reserve, they would both get their average over the season and would leave us with plenty points for a solid top 5. Dmitri Berge would come in on a 5 and would probably average somewhere about 4, the same figure that Starke will probably be on at the end of the season, only difference being he takes up an extra 1 and a bit points leaving less for the top 5. Having said that Berge does look like being a potentially good rider for the future so i can see why it would be good to get him as an asset.
  20. Oliver Allen 8.09 David Bellego 6.36 Matty Wethers 6.79 Andrew Tulley 7.19 Kevin Doolan 7.51 Paul Starke 3.52 Liam Carr 3.00 total 42.46 very solid top 5 , i dont see the reserves as a gamble either as i reckon both will get or maybe slightly improve on their starting figures. And no commuting foreigners whose main priorities wouldn't be at Berwick.
  21. Didnt expect Seb not to be part of the team in 2013, will be a miss as he is superb when on form. Maybe best to cash in now and get a transfer fee if he cannot commit to a PL weekend team. With Seb missing will this impact on wether Alex Edberg wants to ride for Berwick? Anyone know if Kozza will get a 10% reduction since he missed all of last year? Sure i read somewhere Brenton Barnfield was riding again so another worth considering.
  22. A Sensible post from Bigeddie , got to agree any cheap shots on the promotion or volunteers who run other parts of the club are very much uncalled for, without them we would not have had a club to support a few years ago, keep this sort of attitude up and who could blame them for feeling like walking away. Hope its good news tonight so normal service can be resumed and we can all get back to argueing over team selection for 2013.
  23. Some good racing in an entertaining meeting, unfortunately yet another injury for Berwick with Dyer , he did look good until then and won heat 2 in impressive style. Barrett looked ok and will be worth a shot next season if he gets a real average. With only 8 meetings to go after Wednesday it would be good to use the remainder of the season to have a look at another couple of 7 point newcomers. Using Rickys average and that of Jakobsen (who was again way off the pace tonight) we could fit them in. If we went down that route another bonus would be Bellego at reserve.
  24. Just booked he Hilton at Newport for Friday and Saturday too, £137 for 2 night for a double room with dinner on the Friday night.
  25. Dont know if its been posted anywhere but on travel lodge website an new lodge has just opened in central cardiff , i just checked and rooms are available for the Grand Prix weekend. http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_and_boo...+Atlantic+Wharf
