  1. If the "25% of meetings completed rule" had been clarified publicly then I am sure everyone would understand why things have happened the way they have.. Not like British Speedway to lack clarity in the rules it brings in is it? .. First time for everything...
  2. And some may enjoy the speedway and badger their parents or guardians to go again.... "It's free for me Dad" was always music to my ears.... When they are not there now, there is no loss to giving it a go... And when you own the food and drink outlets, the higher the footfall the more chance you have of taking money..
  3. Indeed.... If they did it for free then that is "for our entertainment".... For so many it is their only job so they are professional sportsmen investing in very expensive kit to deliver a much greater return in earnings.... A "risky profession" no doubt, but so is Boxing, MMA, Skiing, Other motor sports etc... Not to mention Firefighting, Police, and the Armed Services... None of the above anyone does "for our entertainment"... Some do it for the money, some for the adrenaline rush... No more than that. ..
  4. I would be truly amazed if the Aces dont reach the play offs with Zagar.. Keep the top four injury free and they alone will ensure that Belle Vue will be there or thereabouts in most meetings... Add in an improving Brennan and that's a very solid top five to protect the reserves in the races they partner them, (should they need it).. And Etheridge scores well at reserve but struggles in the main body, and Blodorn appears a proper prospect..
  5. And the best bit about this is that whoever said that to you..... You just know that it made "perfect sense" to them...
  6. Having rules open to interpretation is very much a GB Speedway thing.. All in the interest of Speedway obviously....
  7. Never understood the constant track grading that goes on at many places.. Just when the track gets an outside line developing they drag the dirt back down to make the inside the place to ride again.. Every three or four races the racing gradually improves and then it gets put back to "inside line" wins again until the outside naturally develops once more.. Then rinse and repeat... Especially at the very grippy tracks you want the inside to slicken off as quickly as you can, as it can often be like "riding on rails" in the deep surface... Meaning the racing is "too fast" to expect anyone behind to have the speed to overtake, even if the wider line they need to take allows them the chance..
  8. Can he guest for Plymouth on the same night Poole are there? Half n Half Kevlars or something? He would keep the scores very close by getting exactly the same points for both teams in every one of his races... Sorry... On reflection, that would bring a ludicrous lack of credibility to the sport wouldn't it, and prevent people, media and potential sponsors, taking the sport seriously.. Just let him ride the whole season for Plymouth when Poole aren't there as the rules allow.. That way, the credibility of the sport is protected..
  9. A few British lads out there... Be good to see their actual capability when going up against a lot of the worlds best U24's.... A great opportunity for them to showcase their talent, (if its of the required level)...
  10. Brilliant from Wozniak.. Proper, hard riding... Cracking meeting again from Poland..
  11. A Gustrow or a Mildenhall could have been fitted in easily though... Utterly bizarre to design a track with such long straights and tight bends... Went twice and the racing was poor on both occasions.. Follow the leader literally as all riders hit the apex entering the bends, slid up the banking to the fence, locked up, then powered off down the straight, all following exactly the same line.. Like watching synchronised Speedway.. Might go sometime this season to see what the track changes have done to improve the racing..
  12. Common sense comments then... Get the fundamental basics correct first..
  13. Cycle speedway do it well... And they have to spin around and ref the whole race... Not seen one throw up yet...
  14. Should maybe have someone on the centre green in line with the tapes? Let the ref have the panoramic view for the incidents and the person on the centre green give the 51/49 verdicts...
  15. I presume that view doesnt have a fence blocking the finish line, like some fences do at tracks...? With sometimes the wheels not visible depending on how near they are to the fence as they cross the line, meaning the refs give their "best guess" result based on the riders crossing the line, not their bikes.. Sometimes being directly opposite the finish line with nothing blocking the view can be far more accurate..
  16. Brum should advertise £75 for 15 races (pro rata the same), at the next meeting and then see how many turn up... That should tell them the impact a key fundamental decision they have to make would have...
  17. I seem to think through the mist of time, for all teams, that whatever night you ride on at home, it always seems easier to find a guest than when you are away... Unless of course you are in the running for the play offs or title...
  18. Then each club should think about that before allowing such disparate level of capability to be in place in the same league.. And also consider if it is a good idea to allow clubs to choose when to use a guest and when not to... (All the clubs 'amazingly' seem to find a guest for home matches dont they?) More self inflicted nonsense that can only dissaude attendance rather than encourage it, and so easily fixed if as a collective they wanted to do so... As, lets be honest, it isnt like it isnt obvious that certain teams wont be crowd pullers away from home, and that home teams will then pay out loads of points money when these teams visit.. Because the same thing has happened for donkeys years... With these teams often highlighted pre season by fans with even just the slightest knowledge of the sport..
  19. No! No! No!... I have read it on here many times that they do it "for our entertainment"....
  20. For a club with one eye on its finances I would suggest not "too bad" a result... Win 46-44 on Sunday and the icing on the cake..
  21. Gates two and four on the bounce didn't do them any favours... Since then one and three has sorted out the score line...
