Does he not already owe me an apology for a derogatory comment he made towards me from earlier in the thread...............still waiting............ That is at least two people he has rubbed up the wrong way with factual inaccuracies............... Give it up..............people like the poster in question never listen and like the sound of their own voice too much............and are always right even when they are factually wrong...............I may not get it right every time but at least I have the decency to apologise when needed.............. Holder won it 5 times on the trot and missed the last couple of years through injury and taking time out for a break to re energise himself for the current season..............having had several winters recovering from injury and not being able to take part.............. On to Tai..............at the end of the day Tai is going to do what is right for him and rightly or wrongly if he feels taking part in the British Final is detrimental to his health or feels it will burn him out by doing extra meetings then that is his business and no one elses...............the fans cannot dictate who rides in what meeting and threaten to boycott ones he does not take part in........... Team GB need Tai more than Tai needs Team GB..............without Tai in Team GB we are likely to be humiliated on home shale in the SWC because there is no one who is likely to be in the British Final that is as good as Tai and that can perform in a big event the way that he does............ And yes one hectic day could ruin his title hopes.........what if he took part and was then injured in the meeting and it ended his world title hopes................and before anyone says anything I am aware that could happen at any meeting but sometimes its too bigger risk to take............we do not know what other commitments he may have around that time so why are people pulling him apart for pulling out of one meeting........... Oh and I think Scunthorpe born even though brought up in Australia is enough to qualify him for Team GB...............you don't see anyone complaining about Mark Loram having represented GB despite being born in Malta............. RP

He did not ride the full season though hence the assessed average............he has never had anything other than an assessed or FDR average for Poole because of the number of meetings he has done as far as I am aware..........the only two full seasons he has done are the last two................ RP

Garrity needs to stop being so reckless in his riding before he can be considered for team GB............Newman was like Garrity invited to take part in the Croatian training sessions as well..............Newman has as much chance as Garrity as being selected for the final Team GB squad............Remember as well that Newman is only riding EL (unless Plymouth get sorted out..........) at the moment............ Having seen Garrity try and take Newman out deliberately on a number of occasions and take other riders out I know I would rather have Newman than Garrity in Team GB RP

I read somewhere that a decision would be made at 9 am on Wednesday about Good Friday..............as far as I am aware the Poole meeting is still on but not being televised.................. RP

Try being a Poole supporter though..............we are on the receiving end of loads of abuse the majority of which is unjustified but try and defend the team or management for being successful and you are asking for trouble............. RP

Fact is there are too many bitter fans in the sport if they do not like things going their clubs way...............we get it all the time.......... Cyclone's comment aimed at me was well and truly unacceptable and although I made a bit of a joke out of it at the time an apology would be nice............insinuating that I drank and did drugs was well out of order...................I have never done drugs in my life and rarely drink............I do not have tunnel vision its those who choose to pick fault that do................ And thank you for remembering I am female this time..........lol Surely that is the bully tactics from the East...........objecting to a meeting on a night when they don't have one............ RP

One rider does not make a team................much as I am loathe to say it much of Edinburgh's success is down to Craig Cook...........without him they would have been a middle order team.......... RP

At the risk of repeating myself it will never happen for two reasons.............other stadium users and local authority restrictions............ RP

The thing is it only says the Edinburgh have objected...............it does not say that objection has been accepted................as a neutral all I can say is that Edinburgh are cutting their nose off to spite their face..............and that some fans need to look at things from all angles instead of from their clubs point of view..................just because the club puts in an objection to something does not mean their fans have to agree with what the club say............ But that is typical of certain fans though................there is always going to be jealousy when a middle order club suddenly becomes as if not more successful than they are.............we get it down here all the time..............I just ignore it now............. RP

But if it was not the Glasgow management but the BSPA that agreed it could be held on a day when Edinburgh have no meeting they cannot object.......or are you expecting so many rain offs that you will have to use it............. Either way it is not good for the sport when two local teams end up in a feud..............bury the hatchet and play nicely then everyone is happy............. RP

I was under the impression that they had objected despite not having a meeting that night but it has not been confirmed whether that objection has been upheld..................either way its no way to run a sport................or is it just a case of sour grapes by the smugs cos they did not get it.............. RP

When I first started going in 1976 it was still to all intents and purposes an amateur sport.............most of the riders had day jobs they did............ RP

To be fair I was always led to believe that you had to wait a minimum of 7 days and then you had to have confirmation from a doctor that you were fit to ride.............. When I knocked myself out I was in hospital for 24 hours and went back to work 2 days later............I do a desk job and thought nothing of it............my GP went mad at me and said I was not supposed to go back to work for at least 7 days............... RP

One/two night racing is a good idea in theory but in practice it will never work............. Two reasons - one is that most stadia are shared with other users and and therefore may be expected to change the nights their events are held which could be to the detriment of their sports................ Two - local authority restrictions of use................example each club has a set race night but do they have to get permission from the local council to race on a different night or if they can race til a different time Poole race Wednesday with the occasional Monday for TV and have permission to race Thursdays as well as an alternative race night...........not all teams have that option............
