On topic (as I am not impressed at arguments about spelling and the like)..........Ward, Pedersen, THJ and Harris...........the reason for including Harris is purely because there are no other British riders that could compete at this level currently............ RP

This red button business is turning into a fiasco............its letting down those of us who pay for Sky Sports through Virgin Media..........as we do not always get the red button service...........I refuse to pay for a Sky dish just to suit the alleged powers that be................Time yet again to complain to Sky about this...........and get a refund I hope.......... RP

I'm not complaining..............I just said it was not the ideal choice of dates compared to previous years..........June is a better time of year to hold it in my opinion........... Sorry Philip I was under the impression that was one of the reasons for building it..........it seems mad to build a national stadium that could not hold a GP..........oh well time will tell........ RP

Take it then that the majority of you never went to Bradford in 85............or an outdoor GP or World Final like Norden..........hmmm thought not..........there is more to watching the GP Series sat indoors on the TV........... I would love to see it again at an outdoor venue and so what if it rains and has to be rearranged..........for the most part it would be the following day which would not inconvenience that many people......... If it is at Cardiff then all well and good but when the National Stadium comes off it cannot be ruled out and I would have thought that one of the purposes of it was to hold the British GP there........... RP

Oh FFS if he threw the race he threw the race end of...........if he didn't then it was a genuine error............. I have never thought of Batch as a world class rider...........net even when he rode for Poole did I rate him........he is to me very much an illusionist............under the illusion that he is better than he really is.......... I would rather see Davy Watt or Cory Gathercole(or the likes of being given a chance) in the Aussie side to be honest.........at least Davy has GP experience and knows how to beat the best rather than be falling out with a former world champion (allegedly) every 5 minutes.......... RP

The thing is I gather that Wembley does not want nor did it ever like having the speedway there...........it held it because at the time it was the only suitable stadium in the UK........... I went to Odsal in 1985 and enjoyed it as much as I have done Cardiff...........the same with Norden in 1983............and who cares if there is a roof on the stadium or not.........you go for the racing and the atmosphere not the venue........... RP

Remember it well and my Mum buying me the book when it came out...........if I remember rightly Kelvin Mullarkey and Karl Fiala and Bob Garrad were the riders used to show the racing.............though I am sure some one will correct me on that one............ RP

I meant as a wild card at an individual GP not in their own country................I am not saying they did not qualify as of right but it does seem they are taking over.............we need more and better Brits to give us a chance of winning something in the future................... RP

Exactly..............if you go to a Swedish GP you expect to see a Swedish Wild Card rider therefore it should be the same in Britain................who ever is National Champion of the country hosting wins (unless its Bomber then it becomes second place) should be given the chance to race in the GP................and anyway am I the only one who thinks there are too many Poles in the series already............ Interesting.....................the meeting got better as it went on but I have to say that apart from Harris and Richardson Team GB were a disaster..............another team manager may help but where are the up and coming riders?????????????? Apart from Daniel King not one rider coming through has caught my eye................ Time to restrict the number of foreign riders in EL/PL teams again????????????? RP

First meeting I went to in 1976.............I was 14 and still got in to Poole at kids rate til I was 21............ The funfair and zoo at Belle Vue..........anyone else remember the pub with the revolving door????????? Being able to go into the pits and often across the centre green to get riders autographs.......... Speedway Mail My jacket with all the badges from the tracks I visited on it...........still got it in my wardrobe and will never part with it............ Going to Cradley Heath and getting home at 2 in the morning and then going to Belle Vue at 6 the same morning............. White City Proper second halves Getting back from Ipswich at the same time as my Dad was getting up to go to work........... Programmes that you could actually read...........still got loads but think the rosettes got binned when we moved 8 years ago Neil Middleditch with long curly hair.................. John Davis with Dark hair............... If I think of any more I'll post them later.............. RP

We paid £8.00 to park all day last year...............privately owned and not that far from the stadium.................near the railway bridges and not for from the precinct............................... RP

When I first started going to Poole it still had the footie pitch in the middle and it did make racing fun....................til John Davis took out one of the lamp standards before they allowed us use of the flood lights..................... Hyde Road......................Loved it and went to a good few meetings there.........................always something to talk about after the meeting................ RP

Am I correct in thinking though that Wimbledon was the only track to have the start and finish lines in different places......................and that at one time it was defined as the only legal speedway track because of this??????????????? Or was it my imagination.................... RP

I don't think it matters who got the picks there would have been criticism that someone deserved it more than someone else................ Harris got in I would imagine based on the fact he won the British Championship this year more than his GP performances and I think you know my feelings on Tai.................. RP (whose daughter is the same age as Tai but for more mature in her attitude.................)
