1977 yearbook suggests there was a Phil Cornwell rode for Peterborough at Crayford in 1976 but there is nothing to do with a P Cornwall and Paisley...........Phil scored 3 +1 in his only meeting for them............... RP

I started going to Poole in 1976 and the only Smith was Pete Smith............and he had ridden for them for years.......and no he was not a reserve.......... RP

If its any consolation to you lot I got in to Poole (and other tracks) at kids rate until I was 21............It is too expensive especially for a family of 4.........I can't buy family tickets because of the nearly ten year age gap between my two............ It needs to be a more realistic price to encourage people to go...............and in the current economic climate it is a struggle to make ends meet let alone add social activity costs in.............. @ Paulco..........that was a tea over the monitor moment when I read that...........pmsl............. You are correct about Zetterstrom............has happened to others too........... RP

Is it a necessity to ride abroad though to do well in the GP's..................yes a lot of GP riders ride in more than one league but look at the current top GB riders.............riding in foreign leagues has not necessarily helped them................. Some of the youngsters coming through will ride abroad eventually............but that does not mean they cannot compete with the big guns now............. RP

I am sure they flashed a picture of that up on the big screens too..............Only comment about being on the top tier on the back straight was when you are so high up when the stadium is almost empty its blooming scary..............I should have learned that lesson from last time I went............ RP

In a word...........no...........I have said this a number of times in various places but there are currently no Brits who are capable of maintaining the standard needed to be in the GP's.........yes there are some coming through but at the moment I can see no one deserving to be in the series as of right..........give it a couple of years or so and there will be the likes of Barker, Auty, Cook and Richie Worrall..........but right now if we have to have a Brit in it I cannot see it being Tai............... RP

Hmmmm back to being around my birthday I see...........lol RP

What about next year having The Magoos who played in the fanzone for the pre meeting entertainment.............I thought they were brilliant........... RP
